What a pub should be ( all about the beer) excellent selection from the brewery 5 minutes walk away. We ate at The Sun 10 minutes walk as no food on the Monday night. This was my birthday surprise including the brewery tour. Excellent breakfast at the brewery.

Fantastic beer

Great evening, we went to Music at the crossroads then back to this proper pub for a few drinks at the end of the night. 
Tabs working behind the bar was great, friendly and welcoming. Made sure we had a good time.
Lots of good beer great customer service.
We'll definitely be back.

Excellent experience

Absolutely lovely little pub with a very cosy feel and very friendly staff. 

My partner and I stayed here for 2 nights due to a family wedding nearby and so glad we did! It had a lovely warm and friendly feel to it the moment we walked in and we felt so welcome! 

They did not serve food however recommended the brewery which was a 3 minute walk and was lovely. 

In the room we also had complimentary bottles of water and a lovely bottle of ale which was from the brewery, along with a little souvenir bottle opener, and in the bathroom there were some lovely miniature bottles of shampoo and conditioner which smelt amazing!

The staff were so pleasant and were more than happy to have a chat about the local surroundings and also events that they take part in which was lovely to here.

We are already planning our return trip and they are looking forward to meeting our dog too since we were happy to here that they are very dog friendly too!

Lovely little pub, will definitely return!

Relaxed stay in a proper pub. Large room with views over the village green complemented by a cosy bar downstairs with great beers from the local Hook Norton Brewery that is situated about 400m  away up the lane. A buzzing atmosphere from a wide variety of customers including local bellringers (after practice) and domino teams.

Very clean accommodation with great linen and towels. Conveniently located for the brewery tour which was also 5*.

Friendly stay in a proper pub

Was given a lovely comfortable room very comfy bed , the shower and toilet was beautiful, the staff were lovely, learnt a new game called aunt Sally, but wasn't expecting to still be awake ar 2am due to a lockin very noisy would not have been sk bad if we had been told 😀 

Loved being local to the brewery 

We stayed here for one night after finding it by chance and we were very pleased we did so. We were a little unsure to start with as the pub was a little basic and old fashioned, while the way through to our room was past the ‘working’ area, but once we were shown into our room we were delighted as it was very spacious,light, and perfectly clean and fresh. The bed was huge, while the bedding and towels were of an excellent quality and beautifully white and ironed. The bed was also very comfy.  The complimentary  bottle of beer was very welcome and there was a good selection of tea, coffee and water.

Evening meals were limited to pizza on certain nights, but there was another pub in the village which was recommended and the food there was good. Similarly, breakfast was a two or three minute walk away at the brewery, with a voucher worth £7.50 per person provided towards breakfast. All in all a pleasant place to stay.

A very pleasant stay

Friendly village pub with Hooky beers. Traditional bar area. Perfect for visitors having beers after a brewery visit. No food at the time of visit Feb 2022. Probably the best pub in the Parish. Cant wait to visit in the summer

Lovely pub

We only stayed at The Pear Tree for one night after a family function at the nearby brewery. The location is perfect for exploring the brewery and nearby Cotswolds or Blenheim Palace. The rooms were lovely traditional old pub rooms with modern bathrooms, and lovely little touches in such as a bottle of local beer. We appreciated having a breakfast voucher and tasting the delicious breakfast back at the Brewey. I will definitely recommend to friends and family

A wonderful mini break

We had a very good room in this charmingly located pub, the effective tap for Hook Norton Brewery while our stay was comfortable and quiet. The impact of Covid19 and in particular, the ‘pingdemic’ were perhaps apparent as short staffing meant that only the garden was open for customers and not the interior of the pub (it being not that warm a July night). Food in the garden was good (although pizzas were unavailable, dramatically reducing the size of the menu) while the beers were, as you would expect, in first class condition. The breakfast is served in the nearby brewery and was disappointing with several options not available (there was a vegan breakfast (with a pat of butter in a packet!) but no vegetarian one), very inexperienced staff clearly struggling through lack of training and dire music in very anodyne surrounds (weird given how wonderful the rest of the brewery buildings are). Still, very happy to accept that these are tough times and hence, it will have been a challenge to remain functioning at all in such a tough commercial and organisational climate.

Pingdemic Travails

Booked for an evening meal but very disappointed to find we had to eat outside, that wasn’t mentioned and it was a chilly evening. I was sure that  I’d seen a different menu advertised but no it was the same as ever. There was a special but I had to ask. Food wasn’t bad but overall a disappointing experience. We’ll return when we can eat indoors and hopefully the menu will be better.
