Absolutely brilliant. A quaint Derbyshire in with very well appointed rooms. 
We eat in the restaurant on the evening and we couldn’t fault it. Plenty of choice. 
Staff are welcoming especially the lady serving breakfast.  She was very informative of the local area and the pub. Giving us lots of information. 
Ideal location to Chatsworth and surrounding area.

A very relaxed stay

Stayed for one night after visiting Chatsworth. A short drive away. Lovely country pub. Our room was very clean. Staff so kind. Credit to Jess and Sylvia who served us. Meals were excellent. Car parking at the back of the pub. What a great find. Lots to see in the area. So good we have already booked to return!

Excellent place to stay 

We loved it. The room was beautiful, well equipped and very comfortable, the food was very good indeed, the staff were all so friendly and helpful, and it's set in glorious Peak District countryside. Will definitely go back.

A gem 

A great find.  A friendly professional team and good menu choice.  Service great and food well presented. Been here hosting a large group as well as just the two of us and same great experience. Consistency is important and the host has this covered.

Excellent

Stayed one night for a brief walking weekend. Lovely place. Friendly staff, nice old building with interesting period features. Busy with locals and international walkers. The bedroom and ensuite were very clean and super-comfy. We had dinner which was high quality and friendly service. Bed was the comfiest I have slept in. Breakfast was sit down and served continental. Lovely service and good choices (fruit salad, yoghurt pastries, toast, cheese and cold meet selection, granola etc) I had a large cafetiere of nice coffee and big pots of tea also available. We waked a 10 mile route including the interesting nearby village of Eyam. Would come again.

Friendly, good quality B&B in lovely old pub.

We stayed for one night while visiting Chatsworth House (15 minutes' drive away) and found this pub to be a brilliant place to stay. Very cosy, comfortable, clean and friendly. Easy to get to. Plenty of parking spaces. Our room (number 3) was beautiful, very clean, with a comfy large bed. Amazing tea/coffee provision (coffee maker plus lots more) shared between the rooms. Very characterful pub, lovely food. It did take a while for the food to arrive (it was busy), but it was worth waiting for. The staff were all very attentive and friendly. Fabulous place, we will return.

Absolutely lovely place - ideal for visits to Chatsworth House

Oh wow, where to start... first impressions were positive, a lovely looking building. Parking was easy and stress free. We had a genuinely warm welcome and were taken to our room (Room 3), the room was on the first floor and easy to access, we were shown the hot drinks station outside of the rooms, I am not a coffe drinker, but my partner is and she was impressed! Luckily there was hot chocolate available! Phew! The room was a major hit. Clean, tidy, spacious and the bed.... comfy and huge! Lovely views looking out over the outskirts of the village. The bathroom was spotless and again, spacious. 

Food.... the Inn was quite busy, thankfully we had booked a table. The choice of food was good, there was a wide selection of starters, including some specials. The food was excellent!  Starter portions were enormous and sadly hindered my ability to eat the main course which was hugely disappointing as the steak, kidney and oyster pudding was superb. The mash was especially lovely, my partner did assist with the tasting and more hahaha. No room whatsoever for pudding! The only slight wobble was the delay in delivery of the food. The staff were brilliant however. Breakfast was of the continental variety and it made a refreshing change. The cold meat and cheese platter was lovely, really, really tasty. A nice selection of jams and the toast was spot on. The orange juice was perfect!!!! The two ladies serving breakfast were warm, welcomkng and very, very friendly. 

Overall.... a truly fantastic building, dripping in history, a brilliant room, exceptionally tasty food and great staff.

Would we come back? Without a doubt. We loved the Inn and will be returning to that lovely room 3 as soon as possible.

A lovely weekend in Foolow

Wow, what a lovely pub to come across whilst doing a 16km walk, actually we were only 5km into it and needed refreshments!

We didn’t have any food, but saw it being served to tables, it looked good quality pub grub. Which matched this traditional village pub, the interior and exterior beautifully preserved and in keeping with the surroundings.

As for refreshments, well it had to be a guest ale, I need not describe it, as the picture says it all! Just perfect and served in a traditional Jug Glass, just brilliant.

Walking in the Peaks

Bulls Head is always our choice for a special treat - and it never fails. Menu always has slightly out of the ordinary, with creativity - with choices for the less adventurous too. The service is top notch and really makes you want to repeat the experience. Booking a table is good advice as it can get busy, even midweek. We already know we’ll be returning

Faultless meal and service

Group booking with babies. Staff very friendly. Cosy pub, very comfortable. Ordered ahead and all the food and drinks came out quickly. Can recommend the steak sandwich. They were happy to cater for the four babies and prams. Has parking and in a very picturesque village.
