Tbh we didn't stay in the hotel however this review is about the restaurant .. So OMG this was amazing .Came here as recommended and certainly lived up to it. Lovely friendly welcome and the food portions more than adequate  and very hot....not luke warm as some places.... Great atmosphere and food was excellent ,  Not over priced either . So that was a bonus...  Staff were attentive and helpful . Definitely worth a visit and the journey ..  The restaurant nothing to fault . So thankyou for such a lovely evening .  

Night out somewhere different ....

· It was such a quaint place, very beautiful. The staff were exceptionally obliging and extremely friendly (a taxi driver told us the rude one left finally!) The Dining room and pub seating area was lovely. We ate and relaxed in the back garden which was really comfortable and smart. The food was lovely, good sized portions and a varied menu. We visited Warner Bros Studio and stayed here overnight so no big rush home. It's about a 5-10 minute drive away from the studio. The beds were very comfortable, room a nice size, all clean.
There was a kettle, which I hadn't seen on the facilities list, so that was nice too.
The trains did run through the night and were a little noisy but getting to sleep wasn't hard.
All in all I thought this a very nice venue and would definitely recommend it. So relaxing.

Very well recommended 

Having read previous reviews AFTER booking I’m very surprised that our experience was exceptional! The hotel building is old and so some quirks must be expected but our room was perfect, clean and serviceable. On our arrival the staff were attentive and friendly. We had dinner which was of a very high  standard. After enjoying a couple of pints in the bar and a game of Harry Potter edition Scrabble we retired to our room and slept like logs the whole night. The next morning we had a breakfast in the dining room of the hotel and again, food and service was of the highest standard. All in all an excellent experience and I would stay again, value for money in all areas.

Fabulous Experience.

Great nights sleep in a warm cozy room. 
Clean, comfortable, basic room, but at the rate, that is absolutely fine. 

Really nice reasonably price breakfast.

Lunch was also amazing, the roasts where huge, and again reasonably priced.

Our friends and their 2 boys joined us for lunch and they loved it as well.

All the staff were realty friendly and helpful, we returned after they had closed, but entry was simple with an external key 

We'd definitely stay again as it was great for our needs.

Gem of a find.

What a fab place to stay. We stayed as it was close to Harry Potter studios.
We had a few mishaps on the start of our journey, missed our original bus time, so had to wait for the next one. Then we realised that if we went from London Victoria to Kings Langley, we wouldn’t be on time for our tour, so we had to take a black cab, which ended up costing us £130, for 3 adults and 2 children. Just managed to get to the hotel, and because we were so late, one of the staff called us a taxi, which was extremely thoughtful.
The rooms were very quaint, and very clean, the staff were amazing, and the food was superb.
We really couldn’t fault it, and we would definitely return to stay and to eat.

The Kings Lodge, Kings Langley

Old pub with lots of character, staff were lovely, friendly and helpfull. Room was clean, well equipt with tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer, lovely and warm, bed was really comfy. We had both dinner and breakfast, good portions, lovely and hot, yummy food! Would def reccommend. Thankyou

Lovely

We stayed for 2 nights. The room was big, very comfortable & clean. 
We had breakfast both mornings as well as dinner both evenings. The food was excellent, good portions and reasonably priced. The staff were very helpful & friendly...thank you Lesley, Gemma & Sue for looking after us. 
We chose this place as it is only a 6 minute drive from the Harry Potter Warner Brothers studio tour that we'd booked.

Fabulous!

Exceptional stay in a large, comfortable, clean room. The beds are super comfy. The hotel has loads of character and charm, an open fire, wee twisty staircases and original beams and sash windows. The staff are wonderful; friendly, welcoming and helpful. The food available is great quality and very reasonably priced. Five minutes from Harry Potter and only 25 minutes on the train to central London. Plentiful free parking. We loved every moment of our stay and will be back soon. Thank you to all the staff and locals who made us so welcome.

Wonderful stay

Absolutely amazing little gem of a place, we stayed at a nearby hotel for a week, and one night here, however we used this place daily for food due to the high quality of food and staff attitudes, what a wonderful place to stay and dine, amazing food and ale. A special shout-out to Amy who was so kind and caring to my young niece, but all of the staff where friendly and accommodating. And had some lovey regulars who we enjoyed d chatting to, rooms are dated but so clean and the beds were so comfy. Would defo recommend a stay.

Amazing little place

Check in was painless, room was very comfy, staff were very pleasant. The food was out of this world, 5* for the food. Minor criticism, there was tea/coffee facilities in the room but no teaspoon provided, the room was very hot so didn’t get much sleep despite opening the window. Also disappointed that no shower soap or gel or shampoo provided, so I would have liked to have known that before we went
