We had a lovely 4 night stay at Mullacott Park. We stayed in a wonderful lodge which we booked through a secondary website, therefore we will not comment on the lodge here (it was lovely though!).

The park was quiet, peaceful and well presented. There was some expansion work being done at the park but that didn’t stop it from being a wonderful holiday park. We would definitely return and recommend anyone holidaying in North Devon to stay here. 

Wonderful 4 night stay at Mullacott Park

Nice little park, nothing much to it in terms of activity, just well maintained and quiet caravans. But the restaurant is fantastic, and it is really easy to get to Ilfracombe and Willicombe by car or bus.

Quiet park, well located if you are driving

Nice and quiet place to stay, excellent views of The Atlantic, Bristol Channel and great location to explore the delights of North Devon and the moors. Some great restaurants and bars within a short distance, excellent bus service on the doorstep and nice eatery within a short walk.

THE PARK IS UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP! Its has been beautiful manicured & the team work hard daily to bring it to its 5* glory! We are so happy to share this with you. Gorgeous homes with stunning views. Plenty of beautiful beaches all around. We love North Devon. You can also own your own lodge too.  Can’t wait to be back on Mullacott Park in July.

UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP!

I booked a private lodge so won’t comment on that here. But just wanted to say the park is in a good location for woolacombe, ilfracombe and  Croyde etc. The views are lovely. They could do more to encourage guests to recycle though. Because the bins aren’t being used properly. 

Lovely park

The location of this park is superb, the owner however is the most unprofessional individual I have had the misfortune to do business with.  I book accommodation for the Army Golf Teams and have stayed at Mullacott for 20+ years with no problem. Until that is COVID hit and the owner, Mr Bill Wilson realised he could make a lot of money and put the cost of our 2021 booking up by 30% with 2 weeks notice citing the fact that his staff were all useless and had been undercharging us for years - "don't like it go somewhere else" was his mantra, along with take me to court if you like I have about 10 claims against me in small claims court as it is.  he now owes us (us being serving soldiers) nearly £3000 and he refuses to even take phone call about it. The park is good, the office staff are good, the park owner not so much and he knows there is nothing anyone will do about it - shocking behaviour.

One star is too many

5 of us and our dog just spent 7 nights here and we can not fault anything. Clean and pleasant lodge and the best beds ever gave us a good start to explore north devon and all the natural beauty she offers. Great location for many places highly recommended and wonderful receptionists.

Beautiful location

We thought we would book into a Lodge at Woolacoombe for a week  30th til 6th this year as we stayed at Ilfracoombe last year and really enjoyed it, loved where we stayed very clean and well kept up,especially over Covid so imagine our surprise when we arrived at 26 Ocean view!!!  the 1st step on to the steps leading upto the door was broken and falling apart, with our mouths open we thought what the hell :o we unlocked the door and really had to pull really hard to get it to open we steped inside and noticed at once the floor from living room to the bedroom was squeaking and moving when you walked back and fourth, over the week we found several things not working as intended the extactor fan sounded like a plane taking off ,couple of sockets not working in the bedroom {facing to the back} the floor in the ensuite dipped,  the Tv was not that good needed up dating, when we pulled down roller blind on the door it was absolutely disgusting stains all over it. only 1 shower with 6 people it was unacceptable could have easily put a shower in the other bathroom, only 4 chairs a small table to accomodate 6 people on the decking....on the upside we had a full size fridge and the Jacuzzi was good, I know it does sound like we are being picky but we are being very honest and truthful I saw the lady in reception when we left and asked if the owner looks at his reviews? as  not very good for their company {Hoseasons} as the same complaints where mentioned 2 years ago...2 years ago really this lodge costs us nearly £2000 the 
owner needs to sort it out other wise he won't have a Lodge to rent out!!! apart from that Mullacott Park was nice and quiet and the grounds was kept tidy.

Very disappointing- won't be back!!

We came in 2020 and had a regular 2 bed lodge and had a brilliant time. We decided to come again this year with extra people and decided to book the deluxe/luxury 3 bed lodge with a hot tub (26 Ocean View) and it was far from luxury!!! We had to ask someone to bring us a hoover on arrival as there was sand all over the carpets and sofas, which then got us thinking had the lodge even be cleaned before our arrival, not acceptable in covid times!

None of the TV remotes worked for either of the TVs, and there was no aerial for the TV in the bedroom. There was not enough glassware for all visitors, there was sucken parts of decking which made it dangerous around the hot tub area, there was no gate on the entrance/exit from the decking area which then made it unsuitable for children as you couldn't contain them. Talking of unsuitable for children, the cover of the hot tub, all the securing clasps were broken so it was not securely closed when the lid was down. 

Luxury is not flimsy plastic garden furniture that only sits 4 people when the lodge itself sleeps 6. Luxury is not providing a bashed up parasol, and no base for it to sit in. The front door was impossible to use so we used the back door the entire holiday. The seal on the fridge was damaged/broken as the sensor alarm was going off the whole week unless you closed the fridge with force. 

On the hoseasons website, this lodge is described with 1 shower en suite and 1 family bathroom with shower over the bath. This is NOT the case! There was no shower over the bath which then meant all 4 adults were sharing the ensuite shower, which was not ideal!

For £1000 for 6 nights, the above is frankly unacceptable and I can assure we will find another park to visit next year. Mullacott Park have proved in their lack of commital replies to our emails that they couldnt care less. Explaining covid and the owner having to go back to work is not an acceptable response, the owner should not have the lodge if he cannot maintain it and mullacott should not be renting it out!!! 

26 Ocean View - NOT Luxury!! 

We've had about six separate visits to Mullacott Park and have also recommended the site to different groups of friends who have visited over the past few years. This stay was very disappointing and we won't be going back or recommending the site again to our friends and family.

Having been assured that we would be staying in a particular lodge close to two groups of our friends when we booked the previous year, we found out on our arrival that this wouldn't be the case. We were given the excuse that lodges can't be guaranteed even though our friends were placed in the lodges that had been requested in 2020. None of this had been communicated to us by the Park prior to our arrival.

The lodge we were placed in was a decent size but did not have a working fridge or dishwasher. We realised the fridge wasn't working when the food we'd brought in was at room temperature the next morning. The team on site did find a replacement fridge but when there was an issue with the replacement fridge, the response was fairly woeful. This included the offer of using a fridge in another lodge for storage (which wasn't an acceptable solution for us). 

In general, we've seen the park look more and more tired on our return visits whilst the customer service has deteriorated over the past few years. It's a shame as we've had some great holidays in the past with Mullacott Park as a base. 

On a positive note, the experience encouraged us to look around and we have now booked much nicer accommodation for our holiday next year.
