A lovely atmosphere in the hotel and setting. We enjoyed our stay and the breakfast. Rooms are a tad snug and had a bit of a wood louse problem. It was nice to arrive to a fan in the room as it was a very hot day. 
Mattress was a bit soft for me being 7 months pregnant it was hard to get comfortable. 
Would be cautious to book if you’re a taller person, as the shower and room height for us was tight.

Lovely welcoming stay

The staff are outstanding, both friendly and efficient. We had two courses from the set menu plus a la carte starters. We were particularly impressed with the steak course as well as the complementary bread, spreads and gazpacho. The panna cotta deserts were delicious

Excellent food with outstanding service

Went for a meal, last minute decision, rang and they fitted us in. Walked in and saw Encore and Camden Ales on tap, best start you could have and it only got better.

Really friendly staff, polite and attentive. Had three courses and everyone was excellent. 

Will be going again, got to be one of the best restaurants in the area.

Excellent, 10 out of 10!

It was the right choice for us to go for a downstairs, courtyard room. The ceilings were a bit low, the eaves would have been really low. 

The room was across from the pub. The ceiling height and shower were fine. Standing up to put clothes on we’d (5 foot 10 and 6 foot) touch the ceiling when our hands went over our head. 

The car park is small with no reserved spaces for those staying. 

You get juice, tea or coffee and croissants at breakfast and then your choice. 

All staff were friendly, whatever the request.

A treat not a regular place to stay

Booked the restaurant for a birthday dinner well in advance. Arrived at 6.30 to be shown to our table which happened to be just inside the door. Consequently, each time someone walked past, my husband was disturbed.  As the restaurant was very empty at that time, we asked if we could move to a different table. We were told no as they were fully booked. If they weren’t prepared to put anyone else on a table that was wedged into a very confined space, why were we put there?  The manager was very young and clearly inexperienced and made no effort to rectify the situation. My husband’s birthday dinner was ruined.  Very disappointed. 

Disappointing 

Stayed here for our anniversary and had a lovely time. 
Pros - The staff were lovely and the food was delicious
Cons - if you stay in the cottages (5, 6 or 7) you have to walk round the corner from the main building on a busy narrow road. A torch is provided for the evening which is great.
Room 5 - nice decor. The room was so hot even though a small fan was provided, it was not sufficient enough to cool the room down.

The restaurant was very busy however, the service was still excellent and the food of a high quality. 

It has a nice courtyard which is a lovely little sun trap. 

I would definitely return for a meal if in the area.

Anniversary Break

My wife and I stopped in room 1. It was a treat from work for my 20th anniversary. The room is fairly spacious and modern with minimalist decorations / furniture. The room is not what I would call cheap so I would have expected a certain level of refinements. For this reason, I was disappointed to find a Nespresso machine in the room, especially when the only cups were large. You end up with a "espresso"  in a large coffee cup.

Other problems in the room, the bathroom was showing the signs of age, there was black mold around the shower, the shower head was not secured to the wall and the "wardrobe" consisted of nothing more than a clothes rail. Also the wifi does not work in room 1. 

On the plus side, the bed was very comfortable and the room was nice and clean.

I am not sure that I would return, I just do not consider it to be good value for money.

OK, but Lacking 

We frequent Michelin restaurants on a regular basis and were so looking forward to visiting The Swan after reading tripadviser reviews. Sadly it didn’t live up to our expectations - incidentally, although listed as Michelin, it is not, and only Michelin recommended, which to be honest, we felt a bit cheated about! The car park is very small, no reserved spaces for people staying overnight. The room was ok, a bit dated, bed reasonably comfortable, however, the bathroom was ill thought out with the mirror behind the toilet and sink, making it difficult to use. Shower cubicle had the start of mould growing in the corners. On to the tasting menu, which was the reason for booking - disappointing - in our opinion courses were under seasoned, as many other reviewers have said here and at their sister restaurant - a long way to go before being awarded a Michelin accolade I think! I wonder if it was the chef’s night off? However the desserts were delicious, compliments to the pastry chef. Feedback was given on the morning we left. Would we recommend it - no. Would we go back - no. Save your money and go to a actual Michelin restaurant.

Having been told how wonderful the Ingham Swan was with regret I cannot agree.
The restaurant itself is extremely nice, well spaced and comfortable tables.
The first course of beetroot tar tar was excellent, however the Sirloin was very mediocre, somewhat tough and
expected to cut with a blunt knife. When we asked for a steak knives they were provided. The meal was so disappointing that we could not wait to leave. What a shame! 

We are back from a dine & stay at the Ingham Swan.   This was part of my partner’s birthday present to me, and it has been has been absolutely lovely.  The room was spacious and contemporary.  The plantation shutters, with the slats closed, block out nearly all daylight, so it’s possible lose all track of time and just relax. 

We sat at the bar for a couple of drinks prior to dinner.  There, we were asked about dietary requirements/allergies and given the 7 course tasting menu to look at, whilst we made up our mind about whether to do the wine pairing. It was at that point, that my partner ‘fessed up that he would prefer to skip the pre dessert. It was a classic British dessert, but unfortunately, it reminded him too much of school.  He was happy to forego that part of the pudding courses, but without prompting they offered to speak to the pastry chef to see if there was something which could be substituted. 

When we ate, every plate was was a delight, enhanced by the wine choices.   The service was at a good pace. We started with amuse bouche type snacks with an English sparkling wine and ended with a soufflé and Muscat wine.  

My partner is pencilling in his birthday for a repeat visit. 

What I really liked:

the menu is seasonal, meaning a revisit later in the year isn’t going to be a carbon copy of a previous dining experience; and

the table was ours for the evening.  As such, the speed the courses were presented to us, was timed around our eating habits, and not a requirement to get the table ready for another cover.

Breakfast was very good as well. Fresh croissants to start, full English and toast.
