What a treat - staying at this massive estate. Not technically a castle (the ruins are on the property) but this related estate.  Spectacular grounds, unbelievable rooms, comfy, spacious and super clean, amazing service and fantastic food.  I would definitely stay here again!  

I felt like a Queen - or at least royalty! 

Our room was well appointed and had beautiful views of the loch and mountain. The outdoor space was kept well and very charming. The interior of the hotel took us back in time. Marvellous dinning and complimentary breakfast cooked to order. It was a nostalgic and pleasant stay.

Memorable castle living experience

This will be a favorite to return too.  We'll priced for  a lovely old house with brilliant rooms.  All well maintained.   Friendly staff.   Excellent wait staff.   Meals were all top notch.  The area for hikes and towns is well situated but you still feel remote.   We will return

Loved this hotel, the location, the food, the feel, the hiking paths, the lake, the history- and all. A perfect castle stay!

Perfect castle stay

Our first stay in a Scottish castle, it was everything I dreamed it could be.  My husband and I stayed at this exquisite place for one night on 4th September.  We had such a wonderful stay here.  We were warmly welcomed by the staff and our room (a standard double) was perfect.  It came with a small en-suite bathroom with shower and hot tub.  There were also tea/coffee facilities in the room.  The food was delicious, both at breakfast and dinner time.  Furthermore, from the day we booked the accommodation, the admin staff at the Castle always responded quickly to any email enquiries that I had. I would not hesitate to stay here again.  


Our first stay in a Scottish castle! Absolutely wonderful!

We have been coming to this hotel since our honeymoon in 1991 and we are never disappointed. The hotel has a wonderful old world  charm with wonderful Scottish hospitality. The food is always amazing and we love the breakfasts. I have never stayed in a room I didn't like and those with views of the Loch are spectacular. I hope to continue to visit this wonderful hotel.

Lovely charming hotel

Gem of a traditional hotel in beautiful grounds on under visited and lovely Loch Oich.Just the sort of Highland hotel you want to arrive at, at the end of the day.
Big roomy rooms, very elegant and quiet,  lovely outlook across the meadow.More expensive rooms look across to the loch.Grand ancient trees in the grounds, the colours of which in autumn are stunning.
Beautiful sitting room and also a separate library to relax in and have tea or a drink after dinner.
Our evening meal was really first class.
Breakfast less so  - the porridge was made with water (which makes it taste like gruel)When I asked why, I was told it was to cater for those ( the minority)  who can't have milk! Please make something separate for those people as I can't imagine they enjoy the awful stuff we were served either. A great shame as dinner had been so good.
Nice place to stop by for tea and cakes too, when on route further north or heading south.
Stunning scenery above Loch Garry itself, a short drive away.Don't pull in to the Glengarry Viewpoint car park as the conifers have for years now, totally blocked the wonderful view that used to exist.Carry on a few mins to a rough pull in for much lovelier views to the wilds of Knoydart.



Gem of a place but PLEASE make porridge with milk to satisfy the majority

The entire experience here was top notch. The property is beautiful and the surrounding grounds are exquisite. The fall colors were gorgeous. The rooms were very clean and well appointed. The dinner was over the top amazing!  Every course topped the previous. The owners are on site and involved in every aspect. I will book a longer stay here next time I  am in Scotland. Just stunning. 

What an amazing last minute find!

This is a very impressive building when you pull up and the huge front door and hall is very charming.  Check in was relatively easy after some initial confusion and we were shown to our rooms by the manager.  The room we had was huge and had a lovely big bed that was very comfortable and lots of place to put your stuff. Beautiful view of the trees and lake from the window. 
The library was a perfect spot to enjoy some tea and shortbread while the fire crackled away.  Dinner was amazing - the service was great and the food was wonderful. Breakfast was another great meal with lots of choices and no need to rush or pre book your time - just turn up when you’re ready and enjoy. 
We walked around the grounds taking photos on the morning we were leaving and really enjoyed all of the different areas, it’s certainly in a beautiful setting.

A charming place in a beautiful setting

Only stayed for 1 night but had an excellent experience - log fires in lounge and library, superb dinner and very comfortable bed.  Room was first-class with lovely view over garden down to loch.  Despite the variable weather, we had a lovely walk around the garden and woodland and ate a hearty breakfast.  Would recommend the 'Full Castle' especially if you have an active day ahead planned!  10/10 for friendly staff - made to feel welcome from the start - and excellent service throughout.
