We booked a long weekend here in this delightfully secluded relaxing ranch. Service was excellent from the minute we arrived. The Lodge was very clean and cozy and had everything that we needed. There's a boating Loch with a walk through the woods. A waterfall and stream runs through the ranch. Deer, horses and Highland cows on site. The area is magical with so much to do. We loved having our morning coffee on the balcony watching the deer. We would have loved to stay longer. Thank you for a lovely stay. We have made some very special memories.

When I booked this I didn’t know what to expect but this place is a little piece of heaven so quiet has deer goose ponies they are wild but lodges are warm comfortable everything that my partner and I needed have a fabulous restaurant portions are big well worth the money just go here

JUST PEACEFUL

Absolutely loved our week holiday here!
The grounds are immaculate and surpassed our expectations for natural beauty, escapism and cleanliness.
This place is very much about you having a unique, natural experience.
We have already booked to return next year!!

The lodges are very clean and contain everything you need!! (We did not turn the TV on once, opting to explore the grounds and local surroundings)!!

The restaurant/bar is fantastic the decor is in keeping with the local area being clean, well laid out with an added Dutch feel- loved it!!!
The food is superb- we sampled the steak, silver side beef, burgers, prawn platter, steak pies etc- it was delicious!!!

The layout of the park although being fully booked did not feel overcrowded, quite the opposite, each chalet has its own private space and you do not feel overlooked- apart from the deer and Highland cattle 😉😍

The Loch and walk down to it, is so beautiful!!! Next year I aim to master rowing a boat!!

The team here are so friendly and helpful!! Had the pleasure of meeting David on arrival, who advised on places to visit and was so welcoming and friendly!
We saw Mieke on a few occasions who was equally as nice, nothing felt like any trouble!!
Sharon and Nicky in the bar/restaurant were so lovely too! 
The highlight is the actually owner turning up to play the accordion- an amazing night, we sang along and thoroughly enjoyed this!!

The pack provided on arrival- definitely follow the advice given in here when out exploring, it will provide many magical memories!! Such an added bonus to your holiday!!

What a truly lovely place this is in the middle of nowhere.

I will best describe this place as rustic and in keeping with the general location.  The Burnside chalet we were allocated was impeccably clean. The beds were comfortable and the chalet as a whole was warm. The kitchen area is very well stocked with utensils and plates so the only things we had to bring were towels/tea towels and washing up items.  Staff too on site are very friendly and welcoming.

I really appreciated the balcony area overlooking the burn/stream where you could watch birds come and go from feeding stations. Glimpses of Highland cattle from the window in the wintry weather were lovely to wake up to of a morning.

The chalet park have deer on site along with a very chatty Mr. Goose who acknowledged you every time you walk passed and stopped to chat.

You can walk down to Loch Catrina through some woodland which was lovely also.

I would thoroughly recommend getting out of the car and taking the local trains up to either Thurso on the Great North Line or Kyle of Lochalsh.  Nearby train stations are at Invergordon, Alness or Dingwall.

Nearby Dornoch and its lovely beach is worth a visit as is the beautiful village of Portmahomack and Tarbat Ness Lighthouse.

The nearest large supermarkets are Morrisons and Lidl at Alness and the Tomich Cafe is worth a visit in the area too.

EV charging is plentiful in this part of the world. 1x 50KW charger, 2 X 22 KW and 1 x43KW chargers at Invergordon Leisure Centre, with plenty of others at Dingwall, Tain, Dornoch and Inverness.
 
If I didn't have to go back to work, I would have quite happily stayed another month here.


What a fantastic find 

We have no complaints at all. Clean and tidy with a bouquet of welcoming flowers on the dining table.  We felt that was a very thoughtful touch.  If ever we had any questions or queries these were answered and addressed. 

Our 3 bedroom lodge was beautifully situated and quiet.  It was centrally heated and very warm. 

There are beautiful walks and some are even suitable for those less mobile.  Some areas accessible for a mobility scooter, although not all. Do make your hosts aware of your needs as I’m sure they will assist you in your requirements, if they are able to.  Or, will let you know regarding accessibility if they can’t.

We put a hanging feeder out for the birds and watched them feeding from the lounge.  

Really perfect for us.

Restaurant was not open when we were there.  

Kitchen area more than adequate for preparing own meals.  If you have a favourite knife or ‘gadget’ it’s recommended take it with you for your own needs.  I always take a small pairing knife for eg.  You also need to take your own towels & tea towels. 

Very easy access to all Highland areas.  Day trips to John’O’Groats is easily doable - two hours fifteen minutes each way!  In winter take a flask of soup and sandwiches so you can look towards the Orkneys whilst watching the fishing boats go across the sound out to the North Sea. A picnic in summer maybe?  Although there are facilities even when we were there - a fridge magnet is always a good souvenir! 

Seals very often around, you may be lucky and see otters!

Why not take a trip down Loch Ness to Fort William? Two hours fifteen each way! Look out for seals at low tide as you cross the Cromarty Bridge - they ‘sun-bathe’ on the rocks at low tide.

Scottish Highlands Trip

I visited here with my family, childrens ages ranging from 8years old - 15 years old. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves and we’re already planning what dates we could come back next year. The lodge is spotlessly clean and so peaceful. My youngest enjoyed visiting the goose and the deers every day, and we all enjoyed going out on the boat on the loch. This is the perfect base to travel the beautiful highland scenery, in our four night stay we visited chanonry point, rogie falls, fairy glen falls, Loch Ness for a boat ride, John o groats and Duncansby Stacks would highly recommend them all if you have time.

Brilliant peaceful stay

Just back from a lovely 4 night stay at Delny Lodge.  This was our first experience in a lodge and it certainly did not disappoint.  The lodge is spotlessly clean and cosy.  The kitchen is so well equipped for cooking.   The lodge is spacious and the ranch where the lodges are based is a true hidden gem with reindeers, highland cattle and a goose who is friendly.
There are lots of lovely walks and a childrens' play area.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and have come back feeling so relaxed and refreshed.
The pub/restaurant onsite was not open which was a shame, but we went out of season so to be expected.
If you want a total relaxing break this is the place to go.   
The interior furniture is a little dated, but, personally, this added to the charm of the surroundings.
I would truly highly recommend these lodges.     We will definitely be booking again.

FAB TRIP TO DELNY LODGE

We booked and weren't sure what to expect. We had a great time. The surroundings are fantastic whatever the weather. I loved the extra touches in the lodge like real flowers in a vase when we arrived and bird feeders on the terrace to attract birds. The furnishing was dated but was clean and part of the charm. We had a lovely welcome. It's useful to note nothing much open until April so if you book before then, make sure you're prepared to focus on trips involving walks in the local areas rather than boat trips and tours. Even the city hopper in Inverness wasn't open until end of March. The onsite restaurant and horse rides weren't available either due to March being off peak. However, we still thoroughly enjoyed feeding the onsite deer, watching the onsite scottish cows and having fun racing the crazy onsite goose (No harm. The goose just seemed to enjoy racing so we joined in). Great walks nearby. The onsite walk to Loch Catrina was easily accessible and interesting. Only took 30mins to get to the loch. Locally, we highly recommend Rogie falls and the gorge. Rogie falls was a short walk and had easy access but the Gorge wouldn't be suitable for toddlers. Would definitely go again.

Great place full of nature

What a hidden gem this is! We have just returned from a week in one of the Delny 2 bedroom lodges. Spotlessly clean, very well equipped, cosy (I know some might think the decor a little outdated but that doesn't bother us in the slightest!). The heaters warmed the place up beautifully fast. Fantastic shower, super comfy beds. The site itself has a lovely little bar that does tremendous food (huge portions) and animals including a crazy goose (behind a fence, don't worry!) who caused much hilarity. The staff are lovely and we felt very at home. Excellent access to local facilities (cheapest petrol when we were there was the Asda in Tain) with a plethora of supermarkets close by as well as lots to see. Great wi-fi for the teens who never wanted to leave their room, too. Will definitely be back.

A really lovely week

Came with my wife for a week and we both loved everything about the place. The owners and other staff are very friendly and gave us a warm welcome. We stayed in one of the Burnside lodges (No. 5) and it was really spotlessly clean with a fresh flowers on the table being a nice touch. 

The lodge facilities are excellent i.e. good cooker/fridge (small freezer compartment) pots and pans etc. The shower was hot and powerful with hot water on demand and heating simply controlled by the thermostatic valves on the radiators. Remember to bring your own towels, toiletries/toilet rolls etc (there's one to get you started) and basics like salt, pepper, cooking oil etc. 

The park area is lovely with deer, ponies and a friendly goose on site. I paid the £15 for a weekly fishing permit and took a free boat out on the small loch about 10-15 mins walk away. There's some stocked rainbow trout which I did see rising but I was happy with the small wild brown trout I caught and put back. 

There's a good sized Morrisons (also good place for fuel) and Lidl 10 minutes down the road at Alness so shopping was easy. We had dinner in the restaurant/bar on site on our last night and enjoyed our meals. 

The whole place is old fashioned in the best possible way. Properly relaxing and yet so close to lots of things to see and do in the area. One of our favourite walks was to the Fynish monument near Alness.

We booked through Hoseasons and paid £469 for the week. I think next time we'll try to book directly as it was listed as being only £375 for that week.
