Christina and Jim run this beautiful bed and breakfast and it was a fantastic experience. They’re lovely hosts who maintain very clean, cozy, charmingly decorated rooms. The bed was comfortable and plush, and we had everything we needed in our room. On top of that, breakfast was delicious. If we ever come through Inverness again, we’d love to come back.  

Wonderful stay!

Sealladh Sona (pronounced Sheila Shona) is a fabulous B&B.
Located on the outskirks of Inverness overlooking the tranquil Caledonian Canal.
Inverness City Centre is a short drive away, or 25 minutes on foot along pleasant flat residential roads. There is free parking at the front of the B&B, too.
The hotel itself is spotless clean and very well looked after by the owners. Rooms are furnished to a very high standard with extremely comfortable beds and plenty of drawer space for clothes and belongings.
Contemporary WC and ensuite shower room with lots of shelf space.
Every room has a kettle for making hot drinks and is supplied with plenty of coffee and tea.
Breakfast is perfectly served with a choice of cereals and hot food, expertly cooked and served.
Above all, the owners, Christina and Jim, are excellent hosts. They have a touch of class whilst being down to earth, very welcoming and good humoured. When we asked, they gave us lots of advice on the best places to visit over an extensive area which was useful as they told us places we may have missed along the way.
We stayed here for over a week and enjoyed every minute of my stay and would love to stay here again.
Our stay was value for money and I can honestly say that our experience staying here was 100% enjoyable.

Lovely B&B, attention to detail was fabulous. Friendly and knowledgeable hosts, even gave us advice on haggis!! Gorgeous breakfast, try the porridge! We would highly recommend this beautiful place. Can walk into Inverness in 20 minutes. Thank you Christina and Jim.

Loved this place!

What a beautiful spot, the warmth and friendliness of an exceptional B&B with the quality , comfort and eye for detail normally  reserved for a high end hotel. Great hosts, delicious plentiful breakfast and perfect spot for a leisurely stroll to town. Will definitely book again.

This BnB has a great location across the river from the main town so in a lovely quiet area. Sited right next to the canal it has a great outlook and local walks to enjoy.
Internally the owners make you feel so welcome, there is plenty of space, its immaculate clean and comfortable.
Breakfast is cooked to order, plentiful and of top quality.
We would definitely return if back in Inverness.

Great location, comfortable, clean and friendly

What a lovely stay we had, fantastic location overlooking the canal. Lovely big room, bed was super comfy and quiet. The hosts were fab, had a great welcome and felt very covid safe. Highly recommended as somewhere to stay. Would definitely go back. Breakfasts pretty good too!!

Fantastic little b&b

My wife and I stayed for two nights here and absolutely loved it.  The view over the canal was gorgeous and Christina was very welcoming.  The breakfast was delicious and plentiful both mornings.  The house was also well located, it was a 15-20 minute walk to downtown.  We got some great tips for the rest of our trip that were much appreciated.

Great view, friendly hosts

Absolutely brilliant place to stay, in a very quiet part of the city; and easy to walk into the city, even after completing the marathon :-) 
Bedroom overlooked the canal and locks, and the room we had; we really couldn't ask for more. The photos really don't do it justice how nice a place this is. 
Jim and Christina were such lovely people, very friendly and so welcoming. Would not hesitate to come back, highly recommend

Loch Ness Marathon base - absolutely brilliant

We really enjoyed our 3-night early June stay at Jim and Christina's Sealladh Sona B&B on the banks of the Caledonian Canal.   What a pleasure it was watching the boats passing through from our bedroom window and taking early morning walks along the banks of the canal. The location was perfect for us, very convenient for both walking to town and driving to the various locations around the area, especially for our Loch Ness & canal cruise that started from the Tomnahurich Bridge less than a mile away.   

The hospitality was wonderful, the room had everything we needed and the breakfasts were amazing.  Jim is a great cook, making some of the best salmon and eggs we had our entire time in Scotland and Christina served us like royalty.   By keeping to a small intimate place they have created lodging that provides the best a B&B can offer and I would heartily recommend this to anyone who appreciates the congeniality of this type of place.

A great intimate B&B in a gorgeous location

We have just returned from a 4 night stay at Sealladh sona.My husband booked it as a Christmas present and it was just perfect.Christina & Jim were the perfect hosts and our room was lovely and clean with plenty of room and the bed was so comfortable.Breakfast in the morning was delicious and nothing was any trouble from them both..We loved Inverness but the home from home friendly accommodation made it so much better.Thank you to both of them for making our visit so a great one.x
