If Carlsberg made guest houses … Joy is the archetypal host, genuine, fun and energetic and ensures his guests are happy. It was a pleasure to stay at the Carisbrooke and I recommend for others to do the same. Perfect! 

Breakfast is amazing!

We received a friendly welcome from Joy the owner. Our rooms were kept spotless, they were quite big and the bed was extremely comfortable.  There was complimentary shower gel , tea and coffee and biscuits in our room. The breakfast range was extensive , you could choose various cereals fruits, teas , coffee, juice and have cooked breakfast. Everything was delicious.  We found no fault with our stay. Highly recommended. 

Perfect

I have tried several guest houses in Inverness and this is definitely my favourite,  excellent location,  facilities, parking, breakfast but most of all brilliant customer service. Communication prior to and during visit is great. Joy was very welcoming.

Absolutely lovely guest house in Inverness. Beautifully decorated, nice in suite rooms. It is within walking distance of Old town shopping restaurants and pubs. Our host Joy goes out of his way to make sure you have a wonderful stay.

Don’t forget the breakfast..superb.  We would definitely stay here again when we return to Inverness

Lovely guest house in Inverness

Would highly recommend this lovely little B&B.

Not sure how there could be any negative reviews, Joy and his wife are lovely and are very attentive. We got our room upgraded without asking and even though it was quaint, it was clean and neat. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was really tasty. 

We would recommend this place  to anyone visiting Inverness, thank you for a brilliant stay

Lovely B&B

Recently visited this lovely guest house, I couldn't fault anything about this place, everything was perfect with amazing hosts, which made our stay perfect, everything from the cleanliness to the attention to detail, the breakfast was so tasty. Would definitely recommend a visit. Very close to the centre of town.

The Best B&B

Incredibly poor service. 

We booked a stay with a clear cancellation policy, but our trip there had to be sadly cancelled and so we tried ringing the hotel almost two months before the required cancellation deadline. There was no reply so we emailed instead.

On the day of our original check-in, we received a call from them, and after explaining that we cancelled the room, the advisor was suddenly incredibly rude, telling us that we were wrong, that we hadn't cancelled it, and that their systems don't have those details. He requested we send the email to prove that we notified them.

After immediately forwarding the email we had sent them, months ago, we were contacted by someone named Joy. They bluntly rejected the evidence that they requested, and we had provided, regardless of it being exactly what they asked for.

We emailed again with further evidence of the email being sent to them. Joy then replied, rejecting, again, any evidence we had provided, refusing to honour their cancellation policy, stating that a confirmation was required (a policy which was stated nowhere) and requesting the payment to my bank.

Overall the customer service has been appalling, with the hotel refusing to honour their own policies, for their financial gain, we will be following this up with the necessary people, and suggest any new guests be cautious.

AVOID

Charming guesthouse a 10 minute walk from the city centre. We only got to meet one of the hosts, Joy, and he was very nice and welcoming. The room was neat and tidy and there was good parking spots in the yard. The breakfast was amazing, i really recommend the pancakes! Over all a very good stay!

Great stay in charming guest house!

Our stay at the Carisbrooke Guest House was delightful! Joy, the host, was so kind and welcoming. The building and common spaces were quaint, and the room itself was great! There was plenty of space for two people and our bags, and the decorations in the room made it feel like a home. The house is centrally located and was only a 5 minute walk across the bridge into the downtown walking area of Inverness. We also strolled by the River Ness for quite a while, as it is very close by. Joy also offers breakfast at a cost, and it was delicious and a great portion at a reasonable price (we had pancakes, fresh fruit, a yogurt, coffee, and you could have more too!). The only thing I wouldve appreciated is a shelf of some sort in the shower to place the soaps, but that is very minor. Otherwise, there are absolutely zero flaws, and if I find myself in Inverness again, I will most definitely be staying here! Thanks again, Joy!

A delightful stay in Inverness

Excellent stay, spotless clean, breakfast was first class. I had the Scrambled eggs and fresh salmon was superb. We will be coming back again in the future. Joy is very friendly too, nothing is too much trouble. Well done keep up the good work 👍🏻
