Excellent stay.  Enjoyed food in the evening in the pub and in the restaurant and excellent breakfasts.  Jamie was both helpful and charming on the day we were leaving; I am sure she was both those things on other days too but I did not have the pleasure of interacting with her then.  Our room was quite large, everything worked and it had good heat and views.  I would be glad to stay here again.

Cute historic building, great home base to access Loch Ness. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean and spacious. Great water pressure in the shower.

The staff were friendly but seemed a little harried— maybe a little short-staffed? It didn’t impact our stay.

Great home base for Loch Ness visit

I have never had experienced such a warm and friendly staff at any hotel before. I wish we had more time to stay at this lovely quaint location, but had to go on to our next stop. Such a wonderful place to go I highly recommend. 

Nicest staff

Stayed at the Benleva after hiking Ben Nevis earlier in the day. We were hoping for a long hot shower, a good meal and a comfy bed. Happy to report all 3 were available. We were checked in by Michael who was lovely and really couldn't have been more helpful. Our room was enormous and comfortable, in fact it was so big it could have done with just one more light as it was quite dark with the curtains closed. We ate dinner in the bar rather than the restaurant to soak up the atmosphere. I had the black pudding and haggis bon bons which were delicious. The bar was open late and by 10pm was filled with locals, I was a bit concerned that our sleep would be disturbed due to their late licence on a Saturday night, but we didn't hear a peep once back in our room and I slept like a log all night. Breakfast was enormous and tasty, we had a lovely chat with Michael's mum who was helping out serving and she recommended a few things to do in the village before we headed home. If we are ever back in the area I would definitely stay here again. Thank you  we had a great time.

Friendly hotel with a local flavour

We got here after a long trek, and looking forward to a good rest 

We had to start spending half an hour because the Hotel kept insisting we have 't paid. It took Several phone calls to finally get this fixed. Yep .  We paid a long time ago.....

Rooms are dark and small.

The hotel is ...a bit run down.. 

The attached pub is fine and is a cool play

The breakfast was huge,but with more volume than style. But served in a dark cellar.

All in all,this might be an charming old hotel, but on our visit it seemed more likely to be visited by an Angry Gordon Ramsay...

But we might just have been unlucky

Hate to give a bad review but.   

We had a short but comfortable stay at the Benleva Hotel. The house is full of character and set in a pretty off the beaten track location. The room was spacious, clean and nice but could do with a little touch up and care. The bar serves a good selection of beers and the local made beer is excellent. The dinner we had in the bar was quite bad. The chef needs to search for his passion for cooking it seems. The breakfast however was much nicer (another cook). The staff was very friendly and made us feel welcome and comfortable. We would stay there again for the right price. We´d probably eat dinner elsewhere.

Nicely located and friendly staffed hotel that could do with a little touch up 

We where here in Oct 2022 and returned again Feb 2023 for another stay. From the moment we arrive my 14yr old daughter and myself are made to feel extremely welcome from the lovely hotel staff, and also from the friendly locals.
so much so we wished we can stay longer each time we have visited . The hotel itself offers a great base for exploring the loch Ness area and provides tasty food for when you return from exploring. Theres a pool table, darts board and juke box in the bar which is an added bonus, to keep my teenager entertained😊  while i relax with a wee drink from the well stocked bar. The room was modern, clean and spacious, and the beds were comfy. 
Better not forget the tasty breakfast, that sets us up for our trip back home . Would definitely return here again.

Hidden treasure.

Enjoyed our stay at this hotel.  Room was good size, bathroom was too.

Had a drink in the bar at night and it was pretty busy with locals.  Breakfast was good, although they were only able to offer 2 options - porridge or full Scottish.  We both chose that and it was huge, but nice and filling.

Happy with our stay here.

Good night's stay

I chose this hotel because I wanted 

1. breakfast included 
and 
2. A goid night's sleep 

since I would be hiking all day on the following day. 

I didn't get either.

I had to leave early in the morning was told that before 8am I wouldn't be offered any breakfast since there was no staff so I had to go buy instant porridge from the Coop nearby.
So I can't comment on the food since I didn't have a chance to eat it.
My bad for not asking before booking but I didn't know I had to leave so early when I booked.

The noise from the bar/restaurant downstairs was unbearable until 2am. 
I think there was a fan extractor going on until late and smell of food coming from downstairs as well, but nothing compared to the people talking loudly and I think staff moving tables at the end of the night.
Maybe other rooms are better, but avoid room n.5 on the first floor if you can. 

There was only handwash in the toilet.
The shower water pressure was poor but that would be acceptable for me. However the water was either cold or truly boiling, so almost impossible to use. 

I had to wait for staff members at reception for a while but the one I spoke to was nice and I have no complaints about their manners. 
I know they are horribly understaffed but that's not an excuse.

Sorry but I can't recommend this place after my experience, since for 1/3 of that price I would have had a similar experience in a hostel. 

Said that, if you are not planning to hike and are happy to wake up late and go to sleep late, you may enjoy the experience.

Not worth the money 

Great hotel, owner can't help you enough, quiet location, clean, excellent whiskey selection in the bar, old fashioned hospitality it was a real pleasure to visit and it's on our list for return visits
