A brilliant stay at a great hotel! 
Staff were awesome. Manager Alex, Johnny and Sara on reception and Romilza in the kitchen 

Room was clean and tidy had no issues during our stay and we had a truly fantastic time

Fantastic stay

booked a room for 10/04/24 for 1 night online and went to basket to pay. paid for room and got a confirmation which said  a different date to what i booked the price was the same in both cases. i contacted them and they said they could change it but i would have to pay £109 extra as the room was dearer on the Wednesday because it was only Sundays when it was only£30 . this is a disgusting company that i shall not be using ever again .They have had my custom about 30 times in the past 3 years but not  any more . EXTREMELY DISSATISFIED AND NO CUSTOMER CARE. I personally would not even rate it with 1 star lwt alone 2 star.

Our room was far too hot, uncomfortably hot for sleeping and the room above us was making a lot of thudding on the floor until late at night, not ideal when staying with children. The hotel was clean and staff were helpful. 

Recent stay

My wife and I stayed at the travel lodge as it was convenient for our visit to Regent Theatre. Staff was excellent but evening meal had limited choice as some items not available. Bed comfy but pillows very hard.

My majority of my  rating is down to the breakfast 'experience'.
Good;
Location ,next to the Quays.
Car parking, £2 for 24 hours, reasonable.
Check-in receptionist, she was very helpful and welcoming.
Comfy bed and plenty of hot water for showering, in the compact bathroom.
Not so good:
Room 120
Bathroom door had to be lifted up to close.
Unable to get shower gel out of the dispenser.
Awful experience;
Having stayed many times in Travelodges but never having breakfast, usually go out to take it, we decided to try it.
After paying our£9.75 each, we entered the restaurant and were greeted with 90% of the tables covered with used plates/cups/glasses, etc, these were not cleared in the 40 minutes we were there. Guests had to clear tables and pile onto other tables to eat.
There were no cups,glasses, plates of cutlery available, after 5 minutes, I went to reception to ask for them to be restocked.After a initial 'it's not my job' he did get some glasses out, apple juice came out as water. After another wait of roughly 10 minutes, I returned to reception, to ask for a refund but was told I hadn't ask for items to be replenised, following a discussion cups, plates and cutlely appeared. there was no scrambled eggs, hash browns(they near appeared)  thick sliced bread for toast(when it turned up, thin) for the cheap Argos toaster. The food was eventually restocked and it was a decent stantard, by a kitchen member, I think she was cook, dishwasher and waitress, as she appeared when we were leaving,to finally clear some of the mess. I'm not knocking her, as she was clearly doing her best.
Will I stay at a Travelodge again,probably yes and have breakfast,definitely no.

Breakfast was a disaster

I work and live in hotel's all around the country, the service and customer relations here are second to none! The team go beyond their duties to make you feel welcome, I forget some names but Courtney front of house and Emma in the kitchen are absolutely lovely! You'll get a welcome at the bar and a chef that actually cares about your food!
I've stayed in some pretty dismal travelodges and premier inn's over the years

Best welcome and service 

Well placed a short walk to the harbour and the town centre.
Well presented after refurbishment.
Easy check in and check out.
Kids eat breakfast for free if an adult has breakfast. Good parking.
Nice and quiet.

Ipswich Travelodge

Arrived half an hour after check in opened to find a queue and no staff with a sign stating they were away and would be back at check in time. When we eventually got our key we found a room that hadn't been cleaned with quilts on the floor and mugs dotted around the room. We found a member of staff who asked us to wait in the bar while they found us a new room. Gets to the bar and there were no staff again. Manager found us a new room. At this point we thought all was well the toilet was a bit loud and constantly running water. However just after 10pm the toilet gave up on life and the tank stopped filling and wouldn't flush. There were no staff available to help so we were left without a working toilet! There was a lovely young staff member working at breakfast who couldn't apologise enough for the night staff. The hotel is understaffed and neglected which is unfortunate as it has a lovely view of the marina.

Always a fantastic stay this is always our first choice to stay at, the staff are super friendly and helpful, the rooms are comfortable and and clean. We’ve only had the breakfast which was most of it was ok! 

Excellent

A stone's throw from Ipswich Town Marina, the hotel was very comfortable.
From the moment of stepping into the hotel, the staff were very helpful. Nothing was too much troble for them. They explained how the car parking system worked and check-in was very easy and straightforward.
I did witness how the reception staff went out of their way to help elderly guests work the car park ticket machine - they were superb! It was a real pleasure to see them interacting with the elderly guests.

Our room was at the back of the hotel, recently refurbished therefore was clean, tidy and smelling fresh. Bathroom/shower was clean and tidy. 

Overall my partner and I were impressed with Travelodge.

The only minor fault I could pick on was witnessing a member of the front of desk staff sitting in reception playing on her mobile phone whilst guests were checking in - unfortunately small matters like this don't bode well
