It was ok, good place, nice and easy to find, not so friendly receptionist. After long drive it was good hotel to stay, i would recommend. near by good place to walk around. go to the castle. When i return will come back. My friends like it as well as we did. Thank you

Good place.

Budget accommodations are OK, but this place really needs to up its game...for example, the glass door for the shower has a gap between the bottom and the tub, so our bathroom flooded when we used the shower.  The tiles in the tub had mold in the grouting and desperately needed cleaning.  Our room was never serviced, nor our towels replaced, during our stay.  We were told that was because we failed to put a sign on the doorknob asking for service.  Not only were we not told we had to do this--there was no such sign anywhere to be found in the room!  Yes, it's hard to get staff these days, and yes, it was almost the end of the tourist season, but this is just minimum service and cleanliness.  The meals were OK there, though what they called "sticky toffee pudding" should be a crime to serve in a country where this dessert is offered frequently, and to far better result.  Their version?  Didn't even look like the real thing (and certainly didn't taste like it).  If you're going to offer a classic dessert like this, make more of an effort.  If you can't be bothered, then, well, don't bother.

Even a budget hotel should meet some minimum standards

This is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. It is dirty, paint is chipping, drywall is falling off the bathroom wall, the bath mat should have been thrown away years ago. You cannot open the bathroom door to let the shower steam out, if you do the fire alarm will go off. The front desk service was terrible. The only positive was the bartender and his choice of music.  I would have been more comfortable sleeping in the car. 

Don't stay here.....keep looking

We went as part of a coach tour - no porterage, no assistance at Reception with anything; we were a nuisance. In view of the price we paid menu acceptable although thrown at us. Our room, at the end of a narrow corridor, was small, dusty and unacceptably hot, bath mat dirty. Towel rail not working, pillows like bricks. The whole Hotel needs a good clean. A disappointing introduction to Skye.

Did not appreciate staff using F … word and staff that appeared not on duty but under the influence of too much alcohol at the bar Mugs in room dirty bed and towels did not feel fresh . Perhaps the bedrooms should be redecorated and new furniture as down stairs in dining area 

Hotel needs revamp and staff training in customer care

We stayed here for two nights on our way to Harris and Lewis; it was one of the nicest hotels during our trip. Our single rooms were simple but very well appointed, eg plenty of plug sockets, well placed, for chargers, and everything had been thought through. There was a nice bar area for relaxing drinks before dinner and a great restaurant. Staff were very efficient and helpful, nothing was too much travel. Our stay was great value for money.  Definitely worth knowing about and well worth another visit.  

Great place to stay

Big hotel easy to find on the strip facing the sea. Very expensive for what it is – a sort of coaching inn. Lovely receptionist with foreign accent, in contrast to the rest of the staff. Car park is at the rear but not signposted – we were assured by the receptionist we could park anywhere, even on a coach designated bay as no coaches were expected,  but were boxed in overnight. Luckily the car’s owner left minutes before we had to.  Comfortable and quiet rooms away from the front section. Unstaffed bar but good selection of wines.  Dinner was in a large room overlooking the bay with lovely views.  Food good but overly complicated – what happened to ordinary fresh battered cod?   Breakfast – generic cooked sort. Staff seemed more interested in talking to each other than serving guests. We were generally unimpressed and felt it lacked warmth. But maybe it being a Sunday at the end of tourist season had to do something with it.

110% stay again

Stayed 2 nights with a tour group. Having read the reviews I was worried what I would find.  The hotel was an older building and consequently didn’t have the usual bland room you find everywhere else.  It had everything you would expect in an older 3 star hotel - hairdryer, television, bathroom toiletries and tea making facilities with biscuits.  Although we only stayed 2 nights our towels were changed on the second day.  I had the casserole and roast dinner and both were very good.  Breakfast was also good with plenty of choice. The second morning our ferry time was changed due to bad weather and we needed breakfast at 5! A buffet style breakfast was provided that with hot drinks.  We could eat in the dining room but there were also take-away cups, food containers and bags – definitely beyond what we could expect.
The staff were lovely and very helpful, although one had an abrupt manner but was fine once you spoke with her.  It was lovely.  Very picturesque, right next to the Skye bridge and some lovely photos from viewpoints around the village.

Nice older hotel

This by far has been the worst hotel we stayed in during our 4 day tour round North Scotland.  We paid £145 for 1 night including breakfast, the room was very basic with single glazed windows with gaps round the frames which whistled very loudly with the wind outside at early hours of the morning waking us up. At the  check-in we were told to prepay for our room (which was ok) & booked a table in the restaurant an hour ahead (yet surprisingly empty) there were literally 6 items to choose from on the menu, my husband chose the burger at £17 which came with a soggy bun as the lettuce was dripping with water & skinny fries that were worse than mcdonalds,  I had the chilli @£15 which had no kidney beans or spices & tasted more like a watery bolognese with chunks of mince, thinking that our meal could be paid for in the morning as there were no staff when we wanted to leave our table was a mistake, we were hounded in our room where they first served us with the bill, then came to our room a 2nd time & phoned us to pay that night, complaints were met with deaf ears about our food & no reimbursement offered to the poor quality.  The windows were so bad I had to stuff toilet paper in the gaps to stop the wind getting in. The only redeeming quality was the breakfast which was adequately warm & buffet style. We have stayed in far better accommodation on our travels at less cost than this & would not recommend this place to anyone. I have given it 1 star only because the breakfast was OK.
