We hired both cottages together as a group of 13 (aged 8-48). They were spotlessly clean and well stocked to a high standard. The furnishings were comfortable and there was both enough space to be together and enough to have privacy. Sabine our host was welcoming and knowledgable, always colourful and happy to answer any questions about the isles. We enjoyed the fireplace and the outdoor fire pit as the night sky was outstanding. The location was great for us away from the town but within walking distance and near to some of the most diverse and breathtaking bays with wonderful views. The Islands themselves were all so different and the trips across exciting for the children. We managed to see puffins and seals amongst other wildlife and felt that these island gems have not been spoiled or commercialised. We had a large delivery sent across from Tesco in Penzance but actually found the St Mary's co-op to be well stocked and reasonable. Thoroughly enjoyable week with some great memories. Try the apple strudel in Sabines cafe and you will not be disappointed!

Fantastic!

Had a wonderful 5 days here. Clean, friendly, excellent food. Top top service. A mine of information about things to do and places to go. Excellent position in the centre of the island. Bus stop outside the door to the town. Beautiful walks nearby. The ideal place to stay for your Scilly break.

Bloomin wonderful

Sabine and her team really do make you feel that they all came in to work that day just to make your day better. 

The rooms are comfortable and thoughtfully provisioned with a large en suite shower. As it name suggests, the guest house is in the middle of this tiny island so if peace and solitude is your thing - perfect! The islands one and only bus stops outside about 7 times a day or it's about a 40 minute easy walk to St Mary's.

Breakfast is served in a light and airy conservatory with full English breakfast included or there is a healthier selection from the buffet. After breakfast this area serves light lunch, teas and cakes until about 5pm. And it serves the best apfel strudel I have ever had. I made a point of coming back to the guest house for lunch just to have another slice.

A guest kitchen provides facilities for re-heating an evening snack or keeping your own food chilled as well as an honesty bar. The wi-fi worked perfectly during the day but I think someone switches off the islands router at night as I got a connection to the house wi-fi but no internet access.

I will definitely go back.

Genuine Bavarian hospitality and amazing apfel strudel

We visited this restaurant on a lovely sunny day and sat outside. The waitress was friendly and efficient and we chose a German cheese and ham platter with a soft pretzel,this was served with salad and pickles. We chose to share the apple strudel which was served with vanilla ice-cream. A glass of fruity German white wine went down a treat. We will definitely return next time we are in Scilly and would recommend this eatery if you fancy something a little different.

Scrumptious strudel

A chunk out of town. Functional and very friendly. But it seems a while since a lump of investment went into the rooms etc.
I'd stay again, but only if I other closer to town or more boutique places weren't available. (The islands book up !)
