We stayed at Ian and Betty’s property in 2016 and absolutely loved the experience. Planning to be in the area again this July, a stay at Castleview B&B, if available, was a must. 

Communicating with Ian while making the reservation was like chatting with an old friend. 

Since the pandemic, Ian, being an accomplished chef, has modified his offering to include dinner in addition to the B&B components. More on that later.  

The property is located just outside of Dufftown, close to numerous distilleries along with historical sites. 

The two rooms on the upper level are clean, comfortable, and have all the desired amenities in the way of toiletries and coffee/tea/snack offerings. Stepping out of a hot shower and experiencing the HUGE towels was an added bonus. 

The breakfasts were delicious, with several options to keep us filled throughout the day. However, the dinners were…Unbelievably Awesome! The web-site shows some sample menus, but Ian is open to options of personal choice. The first evening we were filled with a six-course tasting menu. Not to be outdone, Ian chose a soufflé, duck, and sticky pudding trifecta the second night. The preparation and presentation of all the meals is just - exceptional!

Great conversation with our hosts, at all times, added to the environment and experience. The wealth of information on activities to consider was helpful on both our visits. 

Our 2016 departure was heart-tugging and the latest good-byes were even more so. 

If visiting The Whisky Trail and other experiences of the area… Castleview is the place to rest your head - after an amazing meal!

The 2nd Time Is (STILL !) A Charm

Visited for a fishing trip. 3rd visit to Castle View and as always Ian and Betty were the perfect hosts. The food is always amazing including lots of local produce but Ian has now raised the bar by introducing a selection of tasting menus. The meal he served up was high end restaurant quality and a real treat so if you book make sure you book this in as you will not be disappointed!! Heading back later this year. Really peaceful spot, close to Dufftown centre, beautiful rooms, beautiful gardens, a real gem!!!

Outstanding food .absolutely faultless,the portion size and the presentation was brilliant ,our hosts were brilliant thank ypuBetty and Ian There was plenty of choice on the menu the main courses of the spring lamb was done to perfection and the chicken and haggis was too die for,👍

Surprise birthday meal

Fantastic place with splendid service and very good breakfast. 
Location is a bit off, but with a lovely garden that probably are even more lovely earlier in the season. 
Even the cats are freindly and nice :-).

Fantastic!

The room was lovely, clean, and had everything we needed. The host was great - knowledgeable about the area, wonderful chef, friendly, and considerate. The BnB is in a great location just outside of Dufftown where it is quiet and dark at night, with a lovely stream flowing by the house. We would definitely stay at the Castleview if we are ever in the area again.

A comfortable room and bed, quiet and beautiful surroundings, easy to find, good parking, welcoming friendly hosts, excellent breakfast.  Couldn't have been better.  First class. No hesitation in recommending.

First class accommodation

This is an excellent place to stay overnight. Very clean and stylish -- the room, the house and tasty breakfast. It was easy and pleasant to talk with Iain, the owner. The house has been significantly renewed and refurnished several years ago, and everything looks very fresh. Only the location of the house is not the best -- you always need a car.

We appreciated the warm reception and best information concerning our needs and also what we coeld undertake on our trip to the northern ScotlandLight and nice room under the roof. Good breakfast, freshly prepared. Outside of Dufftown.

Amazing stay

This is the best bed and breakfast that we've ever stayed in.  Very comfortable, clean,  conveniently located for visiting many distilleries in the area. Ian and Betty make you feel so welcomed. The breakfast is super delicious and you have to try Ian's dinner- one of our best meals in Scotland.  Can't recommend this place enogh!!!!! Thank you so very much!
