Lovely few days away staying in this B n B.  Comfortable, clean and warm. Fabulous views in an idyllic location. John was a great host and nothing was too much trouble. Cooked breakfast every morning to set us up for the day of exploring the lakes, This B & B is in an ideal location to explore the lakes with only a 30 minute drive away from several locations. Would definitely stay here again. Thanks again John.

Lovely B&B for a 3 night stay

Lovely location, large bedrooms, and very comfortable beds, top breakfast and John the host couldn't do enough for everyone, would I stay there again, defectively, great location to visit the lakes the coast and other attractions.

Just the 3 of us

Most enjoyable week, a lovely warm and welcoming place to stay. Very clean and pleasant accommodation with fabulous views. The host John went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay! Fantastic breakfast, nothing too much trouble for John. The location is prefect for exploring the lakes and within walking distance of nice local pubs. Will definitely be returning!

Lovely B&B for a week away!

We stayed for 2 nights in the double room with balcony with our 8 week old baby. John was absolutely lovely, very accommodating and friendly. A real home from home which was just what we needed with travelling with a baby. We will definitely be back. 

The breakfast was delicious and there was so much choice. The lovely little gestures from John such as grapes in the room, and a bowl of biscuits really made a difference. There was a personal touch about it all. 

Would highly recommend.

Weekend away with our newborn baby

Stayed for only one night on our way up to Scotland.  

Bedrooms are large and clean with very good towels and bathroom items.  The host (John) also provides little touches like bowls of grapes and cheesy biscuits.  A range of teas are offered.

Breakfast is large and uses locally source food - the sausages are superb, the eggs wonderful.  A superb meal.

John is a great host - nothing seems to be too much trouble for him.

All told, a great visit to a lovely property with great views.

Lovely place with a great host

John is a great host and made us feel very welcome, especially when we arrived quite late. The room was clean, spacious and really comfortable. The living room we had access to was very cosy and there’s only one other room you’re not really bothered by other people! All the little touches like fruit and chocolates in the room were very much appreciated, as was the bottle of wine for our anniversary- we very much enjoyed that, such a nice thing to do! Nothin was forgotten really- a lot of bnbs don’t have hairdryers for example but here did. 
The breakfast was absolutely huge, everything was catered for. Great coffee! Lots of info in the room about walks and history of the area which we enjoyed. 
We were only there one night but will certainly be back- thank you John!

What a lovely B&B! Clean, warm and friendly with smiling John greeting us as we arrived! If your over this side of the world I wouldn’t hesitate to stay at Lane House. Another great perk is the local pub just 10 min walk away - has great food, even does a take away pizza - but make sure you book ahead! 

Lovely clean welcoming B & B

Fabulous location and very well presented and clean b&b. We stayed in the balcony room which was very well furnished, fresh flowers are left in the room each day and there are tea and coffee making facilities with a number of choices on offer. WiFi is also available free of charge and there is off road parking for two cars. John the owner goes above and beyond to ensure you enjoy your stay (he advised us which local pubs and shops to go to and which lakes would be quietest around bank holiday although there are leaflets in the room as well). Breakfast is an astonishing display of fresh fruits and cereals, followed by a traditional cooked breakfast with generous portions. However, John is very accomodating and will alter the breakfast to suit your tastes if you let him know in advance. The owner is a very lovely caring person and it was a pleasure to have met him.

Lovely base to explore the lake District

Stayed at Lane House for a couple of nights whilst cycling in the lakes and found a gem! Lovely room with a huge bed. John the owner couldn't do enough for us, including finding room for our bikes. Breakfasts were fantastic with plenty of extras. Will definitely stay here again when back in the lakes.
