Low point of recent great cycling trip to Scotland. Unfriendly, dining room dingy and windowless, penny pinching, food greasy and tasteless. Rooms past their best and in need of renovation. All could be forgiven but they gave the impression that it was a huge favour to be allowed to stay. One to avoid!

Low point.

The hotel is very attractive, lovely views and on the quieter end of town. Bed was comfy. Nice walk to loch from the front door. The food was hot and filling but think decent transport cafe or pub grub, most of it is from the freezer or out of a packet or tin. I'd give the hotel 4 and the food 2, hence the average 3. The only other down was the stingy allocation of teabags and milk in the room. We asked for more and got two extra teabags and two extra milk sachets 😂

Lovely hotel, food very 1970’s

This hotel is just out of town with a lovely view of the river.  The room itself was very good with an included  sitting area in a window.  Bed was very comfortable.  Teas and coffees  available although I did ask for more milks, just me like milk in all my hot drinks.  Downside of the room was the shower room a bit dated but it worked for us.  Had dinner in the bar.  Menu a bit limited but heh in a pandemic and being family run it was enough.  My beef in wine was tasty.  Beef just fell apart.  My husband had spaghetti bolognese . Looked a bit dry to me but by the time he put the cheese on very tasty too.  Friendly bar.
Breakfast was held in the dining room, such a pretty room.  Breakfast was excellent.  Top quality food and the service too.  Robert I think is the joint owner from Holland is full of local Knowledge and very friendly as are the other members of the family.   
I wish them good luck moving forward.  

Family run 

Our room was a tiny attic room with ancient uncomfortable beds and worm- out bedding. The bar and hotel were absolutely joyless and every request treated as an imposition. Staff (only 2?) were just mean-minded. Fawlty Towers. Disappointing as all our other accommodation in Scotland was great.

Very poor hotel

Had a lovely evening meal . Piping hot and delicious . Bottled beers . All in all lovely . Very covid safe and not too busy . Don’t know why . Food lovely drinks fine and price fair . Do visit . Very near to camp site and other hotels .

Dinner

A cross between faulty towers and bates motel have to book a table inside to take drinks outside as they don’t serve outside due to lack of staff ,hotel bar opens at 5 even though you check in at 2 when we arrived door closed no one on reception not what you expect when you read their website false advertising but too late once booked

Basil meets Norman

Having dined in Coach House in Killin I must stress the 2 staff working (especially the lady) were the least welcoming restaurant staff I have met recently.

The food was tasty so no complaints regarding quality and quantity, if only staff were as good as the food

I fully appreciate COVID may be at the back of their minds but customers were clearly an annoyance and it showed when placing your order- don’t be tempted to ask for a small change from menu!!!
It is clearly take what you are given and if you don’t like it - tough!

Poor restaurant staff

We stayed at the coach house with my sister and her husband for the weekend . It was very Covid safe. Clean and comfortable. Robert and Jan our lovely hosts couldn’t do enough for us all. The food was excellent and the hotel offers picturesque views and copious information on places to go and events.

Safe comfy and friendly staff.

Was a little worried after reading previously posted reviews. I shouldn't have been it was a Great price, comfortable room, clean fresh beds, lovely hot shower and a warm welcome. 
Lovely cooked breakfast this morning before setting out to climb 2 Munros.  
We'll definitely stay again! 

Fab stay 

Difficult  days for everyone. We were staying at the caravan and motorhome site nearby. We spotted the sign outside the hotel which advised booking and we did. On arrival, Covid regs were followed throughout and during our stay were maintained by the staff and other guests. The food took a little time to appear but was both warm and fresh, two starters and two mains and coffee, plus a little booze, nice. We enjoyed a chat with the staff, the parrot and the dog (woof, woof, "that's  my other dog impression" to quote Donald Sutherland). 

In better years than 2020, the bar room has great character and would have been a rare hub for music and joy. Pity Covid kicked it into touch.
