Room (Monnow) very large comfortable bed and bathroom.  There were indeed great views.. but first across the carpark.  Extremely interesting church.  Though nothing much else there.. 

Great food - for instance way better than Walnut Tree Michelin star restaurant... particularly liked the very large mussels and the roasted fig and ginger/mascarpone and pistachios.

It was busy so maybe should excuse the comment when querying after a full 30minutes+ why lager had not arrived.. the “be patient” response drew breath from fellow diners…

Comfortable room

Bad experience just popped in for a drink at 2pm on a Sunday aware the place may be busy so thought would have a drink. Upon getting to the bar I was asked by the young barmaid what I would like which I replied a pint of Becks (not full order). I was then asked if I was eating which I said no. The barmaid then went away and proceeded to make up drinks for what I can only guess being pre ordered table orders. This continued for a while and I was ignored and left waiting whilst assuming my order would be started but this did not happen and was ignored by the lady who then disappeared. The young barman who was serving others then finished and asked what I was after which I told him and had my order completed after a wait. Disappointing being asked once then being ignored then being asked again what my order was. We have been to the Temple Bar Inn which had more attentive staff who served you as soon as you placed your order. Shame such a nice looking pub but let down badly by bad service and ignorance. Gets a zero from me and I won't be back 

Rubbish ignorant service

Our second visit, just as good as the 1st.
Excellent food, excellent friendly staff.
The only area requires improvement is having to have breakfast by 9.30; ridiculous😒.
I now need to write more because it’s a minimum 200 word review again; ridiculous 😅

Excellent countryside hotel

The Kilpeck is a firm favorite. Welcoming staff, cosy log burner, stunning food well presented. .....and ....comfortable well appointed rooms! Another  very enjoyable experience ...rounded off with a hearty breakfast.  A lovely place in the country

Pre Christmas get together with friends

I called up a few weeks ago to enquire about booking some rooms for guests at our wedding.  I had the displeasure of speaking to the owner who was rather short, rude and came across quite snooty.  I was lucky they didn’t have any rooms as I wouldn’t have wanted to inflict him upon my family!  

Certainly put me off giving them any custom in the future.

Bad attitude

Kilpeck inn was exactly as described and the photos were an exact representation,  very happy when we walked through the door.  The room had everything we needed in it, we were impressed by the full size bathroom and proper sized mugs, with a good selection of drinks available.  It was very organised 'covid' wise. It was a quiet place to sleep. Though one of us felt the bed was too soft for their comfort. The weather was  cold for June, but the room was very warm. If we lived closer we would stay again.  We had breakfast included, only two cooked options but the porridge was very tasty. There was a range of yoghurt,  fruit, cereals and toast, so plenty of other options.

Cosy

Covid rules....but same good food and service.  A little chilly today, but hot delicious food. Attentive and friendly staff. Another enjoyable meal....looking forward to resumption of indoor dining in May!

Pre booked on friends recommendation . Excellent lunch, inspiring menu. Attentive friendly service I  ambient surroundings.  A thoroughly enjoyable experience. Good value. Recommended restaurant. Warm and friendly country pub. 

Lunch

We met our children for lunch, which, in itself was a great pleasure after lock down and had a very enjoyable lunch. Regulations were adhered to and we felt very comfortable and safe. Staff were friendly and helpful. The meal itself was tasty and well cooked and presented......the desserts mouth watering.  We all enjoyed the  experience and will certainly return.  The only reason we didn't give 'Excellent' was the table we were given had no natural daylight....small spotlights and a bit gloomy on the rainy day !  Thank you Kilpeck for a lovely lunch

Very Enjoyable Lunch

My wife & I came for food & drinks on Monday evening.
We were highly impressed with everything after we risked coming when the phone only rang out. The ambiance of the village pub is fantastic, & the green credentials are very impressive. ALL the food & drinks were terrific, I don't eat a lot but had 3 courses!! The Gold beer was smashing & the Sauvignon Blanc served at the correct temperature. All our food was exceptional and to cap it all the service was great & the Cornish lady, we could have talked to her all night, top marks!! 
What a fabulous hostelry you are running, I'd love to stay sometime now to cap it all!!
