We had a lovely lunch today. Husband claims the fish & chips were the best he’s had since we visited Whitby! The smash burger was delicious - well seasoned and the burger sauce was excellent. 

There’s a wide range of meals to cater to all dietary needs. I had a coconut milk flat white and it was perfect. 

The service is excellent, really swift and the staff are very friendly and attentive. 

Loved the massive Fife map on the wall and the toilets are immaculate with really cool wallpaper! 

This was our first visit and we will definitely be back - thank you!

First visit but will definitely be back!

I have been to the restaurant numerous times. The staff are always super friendly and the food is always delicious. The cocktails are brilliant too! My absolute favourite is the salt and pepper loaded fries!

Favourite place to eat

A really lovely hotel that is very welcoming and modern. The staff are all very friendly and nothing is too much. Shona the owner was literally doing everything including taking orders and delivering toast for the table. The menus are wide ranging and the drinks and food excellent. Even the iron is really good quality. I'd highly recommend Kirklands hotel as would others, there are numerous Scottish hotel awards adorning the walls. Do yourself a favour and book this place if you're in the area. 

Excellent Kirklands Hotel experience 

We stayed for one night, with breakfast, and also had evening dinner. 

The food was excellent… flat iron steak was cooked to perfection (rare), the cheesecake was also very good. Good selection of whisky’s and wines. 

Breakfast was also very good, very well presented … great quality and not small! 

We had to change from a double room to a twin as there was an issue with the first room. Bedrooms are a bit dated especially the carpets. And the twin room had a really small tv. Certainly the bedrooms don’t match the excellent food. En-suite in the twin room was fine.

Excellent food

We stayed one night on a touring holiday a lovely nice looking hotel with car park in the centre of Kinross we had a very spacious room clean and all fixtures were good the hotel staff were excellent in looking after us from checking in to checking out the food was amazing we had a  evening meal absolutely delicious and the breakfast was outstanding the kippers possibly the best I have ever had the owners were on hand throughout our stay and are a credit to their business I definitely recommend a stay here or even just a meal

One night stay

We rarely review eateries, however felt compelled to share our recent experience at this bar/restaurant.

Initial impression was good.  When we arrived the representative was warm and friendly, showing us to our table.

We had a drink while waiting for our friends, during which one member of staff was having a horrific coughing fit, obviously suffering some sort of infection.  Another girl at the bar was also coughing loudly. 

We were then handed ‘menus’ by the same girl who had been coughing uncontrollably.  All
of the menus were crumpled and filthy/stained.   This wasn’t a great start to the evening, given that there are obviously no standards of hygiene being adhered to. Surely the way forward would be to print off a new menu for each customer? That gives the right impression.  
Even pre-COVID, I would expect a laminated menu that could be wiped down before handing to each customer or a new A4 printed menu for every customer. No one could complain about this and it would cost next to nothing. 

When the food was dished up, I was told that my chicken had been dropped on the floor and would be a little late.  A few minutes later my dish appeared, looking a bit messy and like it had been thrown into the bowl hurriedly. The chicken was tough and vegetables tasteless.  Given the disgusting menus, I was worried the whole time that chicken had been scraped off the floor and then presented to me. Needless to say, I didn’t enjoy the meal.

Both my partner and I felt rough on the way home and had a dodgy stomach the following day.

Surely, if staff are unwell and have a bad cough they should either stay at home or wear a mask to protect others?  This is the guidance, but no one seemed to care that the staff were standing at the tables, coughing over the customers and it was very uncomfortable!

We were looking forward to our evening, but it seems that a few young members of staff were allowed to do their own thing and no one person seemed to oversee the running of the bar/restaurant.

If visiting this establishment, remember to bring your own sanitiser! 

We won’t be back.

Disappointing!

As my sister was visiting from Sussex, my daughter and grandson, decided to visit Sat 3rd for an early evening meal, excellent decision! The staff were so helpful, and professional, with happy dispositions. The food was excellent, perfect potion sizes. The sauce with the mussels was delicious, and accommodated my sister, who must have dairy free. Nothing was an effort. Couldn't praise, or indeed thank them enough for a lovely evening.

Visited twice now whilst staying for work nearby and I like this place.  Rooms are decent, nicely appointed and clean.  The food in the restaurant is tasty and reasonably priced and the breakfast is good.  Staff are friendly but unobtrusive - far preferable (and cheaper) than a bland chain hotel (unless you particularly like such places)

Good accommodation & food

We stayed at the Kirklands on the Friday and Saturday evening last weekend, whilst visiting the area for a family wedding. When we arrived we were made very welcome, our room was ready, our bed was perfect, the room was very clean, and the staff were very friendly. Breakfast was the best I have had at a hotel. Loving the hagis.

Weekend Stay

Really warm and professional welcome, comfy, well equipped and clean room. 

Would recommend eating in the restaurant too, really tasty and we'll presented with great service. The Peruvian Grilled Chicken was fantastic. 

Free and convenient parking too and a great location.

A hotel that I'll certainly be returning to. Great service, tasty food and comfortable and clean room.
