We spent a couple of nights in this luxury guest house in October.  The house is set in extensive grounds in a quiet location on the edge of Kirkcudbright.  There is ample parking and the accommodation was spacious and very comfortable.  We were warmly welcomed by Jackie, who was very helpful and gave us great ideas regarding places of interest.  Breakfast is ordered the night before & was excellent with plenty of choice.  The house is within easy walking distance to the town centre via an attractive riverside walk.  We had a lovely relaxing break and hope to return.

Relaxing Break

This is a luxury guest house sitting on the edge of Kirkcudbright that provides a unique insight into the historic town. The Fludha provides all the comforts of a first class property that's is hard to beat.

The rooms are individual, ours (6 I think) was very spacious with good size bathroom containing bath tub and separate shower cubicle. There is ample tea, coffee and biscuits provided in the room and a honesty bar located downstairs.

Breakfast was a joy with far too much food to choose from, although beans would be a welcome addition to the breakfast menu!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in The Fludha and we are looking forward to a return visit.

Superb Guest House and Hospitality

Very clean, comfortable, friendly guest house, set in spacious grounds.  Excellent service and breakfasts.  Good quiet location, with easy 15 min walk into centre of Kirkcudbright.  We stayed in room 5 which is very spacious and has great views over the grounds towards River Dee.  Lovely part of the country with great coastal walks.

Lovely place to stay in Kirkcudbright

Stayed for two nights.  Our room was beautifully furnished and a pleasure to come back to after exploring the area. Very good shower and big fluffy towels. Breakfasts were tasty, with a great choice and generous portions. Thank you to Jackie and her team.

Big spacious house and gardens  with fabulous views and sitting areas through an elegant drive.  Big welcome hall.  We stayed at Room 1 which was beautifully decorated, spacious, comfortable twin beds, great wet room shower which had clean fluffy towels and amenities.  Well stacked coffee tea tray with loads of milk and sweetener and a clean kettle.  We booked our breakfast the night before from a wide selection.  There were cereals and fresh fruit buffet with orange juice.  Coffee and tea served in proper tea pots and cafetière.  And there was Jackie, a superb host.  What more can one ask for?  We had a super lovely comfortable 3 night stay.  We will be back!

Fabulous guesthouse

We very much enjoyed our 2 night stay at Fludha guest house. 
We were warmly welcomed by Jackie who looked after us well and gave great local knowledge advice regarding food and attractions. 
Our room, (5) was beautifully light and immaculately clean with a wonderful view of the river. 
Breakfast was really great. We couldn’t fault anything. 
We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Fludha guest house and look forward to visiting it again.

A lovely guest house

My partner and I usually stop with her Sister or in the Selkirk Hotel, we decided to try a guest house, closer to her sisters house.
Fludya is sited at the end of the river, as you enter Kirkudbright, well signed.
One drives up the private driveway to the house.
When 15 minutes from the guest house, we phoned the manager, who actually followed us to the house.
A short guide of the layout, asked to fill out a breakfast sheet, to be left on the breakfast table we are shown.
The room we had, was the only one downstairs - a twin bed room, with en-suite.
Unlike many hotels and guest houses, there was an abundance of tea, coffee, sugar and milk.
In the entrance way, was a rack of CD 's.
Whilst eating breakfast, the bedroom was cleaned.
Breakfast was of a good quality, with sufficient to satisfy our needs.
Staff are very approachable, helpful and have plenty of advice for visiting in the area.

A gem guest house

Very welcoming and cosy guest house in extensive well manicured gardens. Very clean property and an excellent breakfast. Could not enjoy all the amenities of the town and the grounds during our 3 night stay as it rained nearly all the time! A slight downside of our room (No 5) was having the washbasin in the bedroom and not in the shower room - compensated by being large bedroom with lovely views. The owner of the business (Jackie) is very friendly and accommodating as are all her staff.

Very Friendly Guest House

Have just spent a very enjoyable week in Dumfries and Galloway . Chose to stay at Fludha, in Kirkcudbright. What a gem of an hotel. Very well appointed room with stunning view of the river and town. Jackie and her staff should be proud of their hotel and their level of customer service. Well deserved it’s five star rating. Look forward to our next visit in the New Year.

September week at Fludha

 Enjoyed an overnight stay at Fludhu Guest House. Located just minutes from the centre of Kirkcudbright this beautiful guest house has excellent facilities.  A warm welcome  & helpful staff support the experience.  The breakfast menu has a wide selection of options to enjoy.  Great views over the garden to the river.  Look forward to going back in the future.
