Geraldine and Joe were excellent hosts. They made you feel welcome as soon as you walked through their door, and nothing was too much trouble for them.
The full breakfast was very tasty, but there was also fruit on each table.
A complimentary glass of sherry was available in the most stunning room I have ever seen! 
For me, the fresh water in the bedroom was fab!
10/10 from beginning till end and we will certainly recommend it to others.

Excellent stay with fantastic hosts!

Geraldine & Joe have a natural gift when it comes to taking care of guests.I was allowed to just be myself at very stressful time in my life.It was a pleasure to meet them both and can't thank them enough for their hospitality and understanding. It's nice to find caring people in this dramatically  changing world. In the morning  the scrambled eggs that Geraldine makes  for breakfast and the  coffee  chats with Joe set you up for the day with the comforting  knowledge that you can come home, even when it's not your own.

We booked two rooms here as we couldn’t get anything in Newton Stewart, and boy, was I glad we did.
From an extremely warm welcome from the owner, to the quiet yet fun decor, this Georgian town house has been turned into a fantastic B&B that oozes charm and a homely relaxing vibe that’s hard to beat.
The rooms were spacious, beds comfortable and bathrooms very up to date with excellent and powerful showers. 
Breakfast was good, with lots of extra touches, including a fresh fruit platter on the table, and wide choice of cereals. The full Scottish was tasty (maybe some extra bits like black pudding and hash browns etc would have made it every better) and served with efficiency and a smile.
The guest lounge was huge, well stocked with board games, books, a huge TV with at least 100 DVDs to choose from as well.
Wi-fi was free and strong throughout the whole place. The large secluded garden was  beautifully laid out and welcoming.
The place even had two happy dogs that added to the charm! 
Would I recommend it? Absolutely.

Perfectly Formed B&B

This is a small and friendly hotel on Kirkcudbright High Street run by Joe and Geraldine.  On street parking is easy very near the front door (and free which was a shock to us city folk!).  The room was big enough with an en-suite and tea and coffee and TV and good wi-fi.  Breakfast was either cooked or continental but since we were on holiday we had the cooked which was a very good start to the day.  There is a residents' lounge with a large selection of books and magazines and a TV with many DVDs if the weather leaves you stuck indoors.

Traditional Small and Friendly Hotel

Stayed for three nights in the Garden Apartment, which is self contained and felt very safe in these difficult times. It’s a beautiful apartment, compact but very comfortable and well equipped. What really makes it is the conservatory which looks out onto a little private garden which was still lovely in October.
Owners were so pleasant and helpful. Highly recommended!

Lovely

We stayed at the Baytree as in these difficult times having travelled from East Sussex (England). We were welcomed kindly and felt at home immediately. we had to attend a funeral locally hence the long distance and this B&B was wonderful. The room was stunning. Clean, practical And homely. The owners Joe & Geraldine were informative to local services and made sure you had the world on a stick. I need to say the rooms were stunning. Just beautiful. Breakfast in the morning was great too. Lots of choice and the lady who serves breakfast is helpful, funny, kind and efficient. Very personal experience. Nothing is too much. I cant stress how home from home this beautiful place was. Absolutely stunning in every way. Thanks Joe & Geraldine xx I will tell England how great you are.

Felt like Home

Because when we travel we have to find somewhere that will except our little dog. So stumbled on this lovely little B&B. Such a lovely ambience cosy and so welcoming. Geraldine and joe most attentive without being pushy. Cannot do enough for you. Throughly enjoyed our visit and hope tobe back in the future 🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷 

Home from home 

My wife and I were recommended this place by a friend who had been before, I realised it has since changed into a no frills b&b but the price was unbeatable for a couple of nights. Well I must say for "no frills" I was very pleasantly surprised, the rooms were lovely big, clean, comfy and very quiet and we were provided complimentary soaps and shampoos. Coffee and tea were located just out side on the first floor about 5 steps from the room and communal sitting room and I could see it was regularly checked and topped up. We had breakfast in a big bright dining area with lovely views of the garden and wildlife which my wife enjoyed very much. We had already decided to have a cooked breakfast which was delicious, hot and plentiful for about a fiver but I had to check out the rest of the breakfast facilities to see what was available if I hadn't and again, for "no frills" very surprised. Full continental breakfast, cereals, fruit, teas and fresh coffee...I don't know what I was expecting but It certainly wasn't as much as that. The hosts are a lovely couple very welcoming and nice to chat too, were more than happy to help and gave me reviews of local restaurants and recommendations of places to check out whilst I was in the area. I don't normally write reviews but I was so surprised by this "no frills" b&b that I thought I had too. I have stayed in places at double the price which have provided a lot less in my opinion and but to this little gem I would definitely return.

Perfect for price

Stayed for one night, this is a lovely comfortable place to stay. The hosts were so welcoming and looked after me very well. Breakfast was excellent and served nice and early which really suited me as I could get off to my work. Would highly recommend.  The room was neat and spotlessly clean, fresh linen and and an excellent shower. Really appreciated the sherry and great lounge area with open fire. Thank you so much.

Will certainly return again at Baytree

A beautiful old house that has been renovated in a sensitive manner. Rooms were comfortable and clean with nice amenities. Lounge area for guests was spacious and well appointed and the hosts were lovely and friendly. Breakfast was great!
