Great location just minutes from the station and right in the heart of Knaresborough.  Karen and Rob are warm and welcoming and deliver an excellent breakfast! My room was spotless and with all the extras I like such as great lighting, comfy bed, proper hangers, iron and board and a really decent tea and coffee tray with fresh milk and treats.  The bathroom is well equipped too. These hosts know what guests need.  Will definitely return with my husband if we decide Knaresborough is where we should retire!

Excellent value B&B in central location with great hosts

As a couple we wanted to explore Knaresborough and visit mother Shiptons cave. So only stayed one night. Perfect location. What a lovely warm cozy feel our room had. We was welcomed by Rob who showed us to our room. There is a small fridge on the landing with fresh milk and water. So much better than plastic cartons of milk. We had short bread. varieties of tea and coffee, drinking chocolate, squash, and chocolate bars and mints. This was a lovely touch. I think the owners have put a lot of thought into this hotel.lots of little touches every where. Breakfast was lovely. Good quality food. We sat by the window and watched the garden birds in the court yard garden. Also was greated with a roaring fire at breakfast time.. Parking we chose was about 8 mins walk. York place £1.60 for 24 hours bargain. We unloaded and loaded our cases right outside the hotel. Wetherspoon lovers which we are. It's a good one and very close by. I highly recommend kirk gate house. 

Lots of little touches 

We booked this B&B at very short notice and must say we weren't disappointed.
Located in the heart of Knaresborough with car parking very convenient also very local to the many sights, restaurants and bars.
The hosts were very welcoming and friendly with a good sense of humour but also very attentive and proficient.

The rooms were very well equipped, we're warm and very clean. A very comfortable bed with nice duvets and comfy pillows made for a good nights sleep. Tea and coffee making facilities were available using fresh milk. The complimentary snacks were a nice touch. No road noise.

A very warm and clean shower room with good quality towels and complimentary toiletries.

For breakfast. A pre order form is requested the previous day with very good choice indeed, breakfast cereals and fresh fruit are available on the morning  but we opted for a full English and must say it was one of the best breakfasts I  have had in any accommodation, cooked to perfection and locally sourced.
Ample supplies of tea, coffee and toast if required.

There aren't enough of these little gems being preserved and this is one we will definitely be returning to.
A great place run by great people.

A really lovely place to stay Karen and Rob, the owners, can’t do enough to make your stay a relaxing experience and are very thoughtful and helpful. The house is beautifully presented and spotless. Breakfast was fantastic. There was absolutely nothing negative to say. The stay was exceptional. Thank you both.

A lovely, peaceful place with fantastic hosts.

We visited Kirkgate House for 3 nights in August and had an amazing time. The B&B is well located to explore all of Knaresborough (walking distance to the town centre, the castle, mother Shipton’s etc) and beyond due to the close proximity to the train station. The B&B itself is wonderful. The rooms are spacious and clean with tea, coffee and hot chocolate making facilities as well as biscuits and other goodies! The hosts, Karen and Robert, are lovely - they are kind and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. Their friendly chats on a morning whilst serving breakfast were great! The breakfasts themselves are amazing with great quality produce cooked brilliantly. We couldn’t fault our stay at all and will definitely be back! 

Brilliant B&B with amazing hosts and delicious breakfast!

Had a fantastic 3 night stay at this lovely b&b,extremely comfortable bed,spotlessly clean room ,Karen and Robert were very welcoming and friendly,the breakfast was exceptional-we would highly recommend staying here,very close to restaurants and bars and great walks nearby

Short walking break

Great location in charming knaresborough close to the castle. Lovely hosts and a warm welcome. Clean and cosy rooms with nice extra touches and top breakfast. Handy for walk along the river and close to restaurants and bars. A very enjoyable place to stay for the weekend. Highly recommended.

Ab fab .loved it all .kaz Rob an penny lovely. Will go back soon as we can breakfast was perfect and location is fine car park real easy to sort .we love Knaresborough but even more now we found kirkate house x

Great location. Warm and friendly. Would definitely stay again. Breakfast great. Facilities and room lovely and comfortable. Hosts were most welcoming and very helpful. Rooms were beautifully decorated 

Lovely place to stay

Such a beautiful wee place in a beautiful wee town. The hosts were fantastic friendly and greatly appreciated.

A great room and so central to the town. Astounding well presented breakfast.  I would have no hesitation in recommending the weary traveller to stop off here.  I'll certainly return.
