Great place to stay - very comfy but also stylish. Very friendly with all the right precautions in place at this time. Delicious restaurant meal. Fabulous few days there with great walks from the house including fascinating geology.

Friendly, stylish and delicious

We have stayed at this delightful guesthouse a couple of times now and love it more each time we stay.  Its cosy, comfortable and the food is amazing!  Alan is a friendly and considerate host and has an abundance of local knowledge whatever activities you are interested in.  This is now our favourite place to stay when visiting the Dales.

Cosy & Comfortable

Just had a two night stay at brook house and can honestly say that it was delightful . It’s a quaint little guesthouse with lots of character . Beautiful clean rooms and a very hospitable host who cooks a great breakfast . You could not be disappointed with a stay here. I will definitely be returning .  The village of Clapham is beautiful one of life’s little treasures

Fab little place

First visit (definitely not the last) to this charming AA 4* Guest House. In a truly beautiful location, with fantastic walks and great towns and villages to explore, in easy reach, this was a great place to unwind and switch off. Very clean and comfortable, the beds in our twin ensuite bedroom were very comfortable. 
Breakfast was excellent and on one of our nights we had a superb evening meal.
Our host Alan made us feel very welcome and he was very helpful in finding places we wanted to visit.

Escape from the bustle

My husband and I booked a 2 night stay at this lovely guesthouse. Unfortunately my husband had got dates mixed up and we arrived a day earlier than the owner, Alan, expected. This was not a problem to this very hospitable and understanding host. He allowed us to stay the nights we “thought we had booked”.
The room was amazing! Large, comfortable and clean. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and I suspect the evening meals are too, though we didn’t experience them ourselves.
We would definitely stay here again and will recommend this delightful accommodation to any friends or family that want to visit Yorkshire.  

Fabulous through and through

Myself and my partner came to Brookhouse in February 2020, we based ourselves here due to its close proximity to Yorkshire’s highest peak - Ingleborough. 

Within 15 minutes walk of the front door your on a path towards Ingleborough Caves and the peaks. Couldn’t of been better located for walking. 

The guesthouse itself is quint, rooms nicely equipped and bed really comfy. The breakfast was a selling point, warm with variety and tasty.

If there was 1 small area for improvement it would be the WiFi was slow, but in a remote destination any connection is a bonus.  

There’s a couple of pubs nearby and ample places to explore. 

Would recommend this for any walker or couple looking for a nice relaxing break - well done Alan & Co

Well located and well looked after !!!!

A lovely part of the country, well placed for the Yorkshire Dales, the Lake District and the Forest of Bowland. Brookhouse offers a good base for walkers and tourists, providing good food in a lovely setting - even in November!

Five star value for money

We spent a lovely weekend in Clapham and stayed at Brookhouse. It was a lovely peaceful break with a gorgeous freshly cooked breakfast each morning. Alan was a very informative and friendly host and we will definitely stay again when in the area.

Perfect short break

Stayed for a couple of nights and what a lovely little place this is. A lovely big clean room with a very nice ensuite. The breakfast was very tasty and Alan cooks a mean meal, absolutely delicious. Everything was perfect and we would definitely recommend staying here to anyone who likes a lovely quiet stay in a very lovely little village. 

A little gem

I can't recommend Brookhouse enough, it's in a stunning picture postcard village with a friendly pub 1 mins walk away and perfectly located to climb Ingleborough, whilst taking in the Cave, lake and Gaping Gill pothole before your final accent on Ingleborough summit (be aware there's a few 'false summits" before you get to the top).
Brookhouse itself is a lovely family run and welcoming guesthouse, our on suite room, White Scar, was clean, cosy and warm with a beautiful view over the river and a huge comfy bed to rest your weary body after your climb. 
The breakfast is absolutely fantastic, quality ingredients, plentiful and the menu includes every option you could wish for. 

Brookhouse also has a small restaurant which quite frankly is wonderful, generous portions and again the ingredients and presentation is of a quality that is a good as, if not better than you would expect from an established city centre restaurant charging twice as much. 
Alan the owner, is most definitely 'a chef' rather than just a 'good cook' but be warned you must book ahead as there is only 5 or 6 tables and its obvious that the locals are aware of just how good this little restaurant is!!

I can't fault the place, many thanks for a lovely stay.
