Stayed here at the weekend. No Bar,No Restaurant. Costa Coffee and McDonald's only, reception was open in a morning, then all doors locked so enter and exit via coffee shop. Dated room, corridors really needs revamp or demolition. Bed was comfy and clean bedding, Bath towel size of hand towel 

Consider closed

Came here for a quick snack and to break up a long journey.  There is plenty of car parking available, although some spaces are a bit small.  The services at The Lodge are aedquate and service was good.  Not the cheapest of places to eat, but it is a motorway-type service area!  There have been some renovations going on, resulting in  a shop being in the café area.
There is a petrol station next to the lodge.

My girlfriend & I spent 2 nights here in cold November.

The room was a decent size, was spotlessly clean, everything worked, the staff we saw were nice.(there must be a tie-up with the Costa next door, whose staff pick up the baton if reception is closed).

The location is good, just off the A1, and our room was quiet & warm, so we slept well.

Within half a mile is a great pub you can walk to (Corner House) and a co-op supermarket; on site, a Costa, a McDonalds & a small shop.

The only down sides were that the shower pressure was low and a wasp stung my foot: I do not blame the hotel in any way for the behaviour of a renegade insect.

Really not a bad place, considering the price and I’d use it again.

Lodge did the job

This whole area has massively gone down til since last time I traveled up this way to the Dales, place is dirty and unloved, staff are like zombies. Costa is no better either, I won't drop off here again. Avoid.

Due to factors beyond our control we were delayed on our way to this hotel which we had booked as a stop over enroute to the Lake District. We tried calling them to let them know we would arrive later than the published check in time of 23:00. After numerous attempts to contact the hotel we were forced to leave a voicemail with the duty manager’s mobile explaining our predicament expecting a call back. This was 4 days ago and we still haven’t received so much as a courtesy call from the hotel. Suffice to say, we didn’t want to risk arriving in the early hours to no accommodation so were forced to take a long detour and stay with family. Disgusting customer service and as a consequence of this experience, we will never book with them again. 

Uncontactable 

We have stayed in this Hotel every year for several years now as it is the only one in the area that has enough rooms to accommodate us. We are a visually impaired bowling team that goes to Be Dale and surrounding places to play every year.Every year we are told that they are going to upgrade the hotel but it only gets worse.This year the only thing they were offering for Breakfast was a warmed up bacon or sausage bap that tasted like smoked bacon cardboard and this was at Costa, It was awful. The staff are lovely and as helpful as possible, and they keep it clean, but even they are embarrassed by the state of the place. THE OWNERS MOTO NEED TO PULL THERE FINGERS OUT AND GET SOMETHING DONE TO IMPROVE THE PLACE.

Owners need a kick up the rear

the website for this property is a complete fraud . there is no bar , there is no wifi in public areas . the place has been taken over and run down . there is no reception after 4 pm you have to go into costa coffee next door to get a key. the beds are to small there is no aircon however the shower was fine .....!!!!

No staff, check in at Costa, no bar and no restaurant. Looks like it's not been touched in years. Old, tired .... clean. Check out the photos. If I had a car I'd go elsewhere. McDonald's only place to eat.
