Pleasant enough place for an overnight stay but it does need some TLC to cover up where its been bashed about.  Couldn't Premier Inn gave a refresh task force that visited hotels and touched up paint etc rather than letting them all get completely grotty before they do a huge makeover? As with all PIs the corporate colours and low lights make the corridors really dismal and unwelcoming. The walk in shower with glass screen was very good but temperature control is a bit erratic tending to dangerously hot on occasion. Adjacent pub was good for full English in the morning and basic pub food in the evening. Very quiet on a Tuesday.

Does the job

My husband and I stayed for one night at the Premier Inn Leicester South (Oadby) on 17 March to visit a good friend in hospital in Leicester. We visited this Premier Inn some years ago and the experience then had not been great but this visit could not have been more different. We were greeted by a very friendly receptionist and did not have to queue at all. We had requested a ground floor room along from the Reception and we were allocated Room 14 which was at the end of the downstairs corridor and lovely and quiet. The room was excellent. It was spacious and had a wall mounted large TV with a good volume to it. The bathroom had a walk in shower, plenty of space around the toilet and wash basin to put items and Bayliss and Harding toiletries available to use. We ate at the Fox and Pond pub (Greene King) across the car park  - evening meal on Sunday and breakfast on Monday morning. All our meals were perfectly cooked, piping hot and served by very friendly staff who couldn't do enough for us. The breakfast buffet had cereals, yoghurt, fruit, fruit juices,bread, toast, jams etc.and the main English breakfast was cooked to order - as many hot items as we liked. The car park was very spacious - we had no problem at all getting a spot in front of the Premier Inn itself. We have an electric car and, although we didn't use them as we had already charged up, it was really good to see a bank of around four EV charging points (Raw Greene King) in the car park which we believed could be used with a contactless credit or debit card. We wished we could have stayed longer and we will most definitely return to this Premier Inn!

The reception at The Premier Inn Oadby Leicester way very uncared for with scratched doors and a tatty display cabinet with Peppa Pig toys stuffed inside!
My daughter stayed in a separate room to me.There was a constant banging throughout the night from the heating.
As an 18 year old girl she was nervous to complain.She recorded the noise, it was enough to drive you mad.We raised the issue with reception  in the morning who merely directed us to the Premier Inn customer complaints website.Also the breakfast felt very tired with black bananas on offer and black bacon that tasted like the grill really needed a good clean!

Didn’t sleep a wink.

Premier Inn Oadby us everything you expect from a Premier Inn but has a more friendly atmosphere. The staff go above and beyond to help and make you feel welcome and cared for. The position is rural but well situated to get to Leicester and Market Harborough

Lovely functional hotel

Quiet Location. Large car park and free parking. Bus stop very close to the hotel which was handy for getting into Leicester city centre. Room was clean and staff were friendly. Only one real issue which was the shower temperature was very erratic and kept randomly scolding you every 15/20 seconds. Only stayed 1 night but this would have been quite annoying if we were staying longer.

All the staff were very friendly and helpful even though we arrived late in the evening. We always look forward to the Premier Inn beds, but the one here was the best ever; so, so comfortable, and being in an Accessible room, it was the perfect height! Everything was lovely and clean, the huge fan in the bedroom was a big bonus too. The food in the restaurant was delicious. There was a great selection for breakfast, with the hot food being brought out from the kitchen piping hot and all of the continental choices you would expect. The staff here too were superb, couldn't do enough for us (or any of the other guests we saw in there at the same time). We've already booked for our next stay later in the year!

We booked 3 rooms as we had a wedding to attend in Oadby… rooms and staff were good and location.. we had our meals out but made use of the complimentary hot drinks in the room.only downside was no AC although fans were in the rooms they couldn’t compete with the heatwave and they where noisy. But then we knew this when we booked hadn’t thought the weather was gonna be soo hot 🥵 

Near wedding venue

I visited Leicester for a friend's birthday. I usually stay closer to the city centre but took a gamble on Premier Inn Oadby this time...and won! The hotel was a short bus ride (roughly 20 minutes) from the centre, with the bus stop just across the road from the Premier Inn, and easy to find.

I seldom take the time to write reviews but I believe it is important to give credit when due. As a solo traveller, it means a lot that the staff at the front desk were kind and patient during every interaction. They were friendly and ever-ready to help. I would raise a query and find them sprinting from reception to my room to help me before I could even consider asking!

The area is quiet and far from traffic. My room was spotless on arrival, spacious, kitted out with an electrical fan for the hot weather, a sofa bed, tea and coffee. My bed was comfortable and I was impressed with the various lighting options available. I had the option of room lighting via a wall switch, lamps on my bedside, a bright lamp on the desk and soft purple LED lighting above the bed. The team were also very helpful in returning my lost items to me after my stay. Thanks, Ruth!

Very satisfied with the hotel. The staff were excellent. Very polite helpful and attentive. The food is excellent quality and value for money.the family room had ample space for the three of us and we had very good quality sleep both nights 

Family stay

Great hotel in a quiet location off main roads. The pub is fantastic and does really nice food. Room 102 is tucked away nicely and gets next to no foot traffic. Nicole in reception was extremely helpful and went above and beyond wherever she was able. Would definitely recommend!
