Booked through booking.com as it was close to activities we had arranged. Slight issue with booking but staff were amazing and could not do enough to sort the situation out. The rooms were very good sized and really warm. Great value for money. 

Family outing

Stayed for 3 nights 22 to 25 July. Stayed in room 109. The room was absolutely fine apart from the room was too warm. Hired a fan from reception which made the room more comfortable. Breakfast was nice buffet style. Coffee was cold yesterday but this was rectified. Rooms are dated but the price that I paid for bed and breakfast i had nothing to complain about. Staff were friendly and I would stay here again.

Weekend away

The good - it was clean, staff friendly and easy to park. The room was spacious with a kettle. 
The bad - a strange experience, little facilities on entrance, in room radiator stuck on hotter than hot, door was not the easiest to lock so I used the sofa bed in front of it. No soap in bathroom, TV didn’t work. 
Overall a dated hotel that seemed to be used locally as emergency housing. The quality was probably reflected in the price which was very cheap - I got what I paid for.

Cheap hotel, clean but unique.

My wife or I have stayed at this cheap and cheerful hotel once a year for many years. I always knew it was at the basic and budget end of the spectrum. Although I can not fault the room or the food we were served from an extremely limited menu, the overall experience was decidedly disappointing. While I commend the management for taking in families who would otherwise be homeless, the effect on public spaces with children running riot was far from pleasant. It is also clear that, while the staff remain positive, they understand the difficulties that this causes.

Disappointing

We stayed here for one night & it was ok as Beds were comfortable and there was a good Car parking space. But Lifts were not working so we have to carry our luggage to 2 floors, WiFi was not working, Swimming Pool/Gym facilities are closed and overall there is No proper Cleaning of the Hotel. Won't be visiting here in future.

Good for One Nights stay

Absolutely disgusting.   Should be done for  false advertising.   NO BAR NO FOOD NOTHING. EVERYTHING GRUBBY AND DIRTY. KEEP CLEAR. Carpets dirty, furniture well worn and tatty. Bedding and towels have a funny idoit. YUK YUK YUK

SHOCKING!!

No pub or restaurant anymore as it’s now used to home permanent guests. Basic but clean, very tired and in need of plenty of repairs. The permanent guests should be disclosed to prospective temporary guests as a courtesy. We stayed and heard multiple arguments through the walls, this used to be a really nice hotel and pub. Other guests checking in at the same time were also shocked.

Couldn’t find any other accommodation

When we first came in there were crisp wrappers and dirty glasses all along the bar , tables were sticky and dirty . Hotel room had cracked paint in bathtub and blood & pee stains on mattress . We did get moved to a better room but this is still disgraceful. How could you let someone sleep in a bed with bloodstains in the sheets ?

never again

We arrived to a beautiful reception, only to be shown a room with stained carpets , screws holding drawers together , hot drink stains  bedside cupboards , curtains hanging off the rails 
Breakfast is buffet style with cold eggs , mushy hash browns , cold crispy bacon ! (Um delicious) , no side plates for toast , no marmalade, and lovely black tape where the carpet is worn under our table !! Budget hotel !! Please I think I would rather of stayed at the cats n dogs home at the back 
The bedding in all fairness was clean and white , until I stripped the bed ready for departure to be met with urine stained mattress , no protector and blood on our mattress cover , seriously needs tidying up

Filthy , rundown and in need of tlc

Stayed here for 2 nights.  Unfortunately it was not a great stay but saying that it does what it says.  It is a no thrills cheap hotel.

When we arrived we were told not that the swimming pool was broken it could be permanently closed.

The room was large the bathroom was tiny, it was ridiculous. 

The bed was not that comfy and the maid never turned up.

The good parts were the staff seemed friendly.  The breakfast was delicious.

It had a cheap hotel written all over it.
