Mixed feelings about this visit. 
The ensuite was warm but the main bedroom was cold and there was no sign of the heating being on. Besides that we slept really well. The breakfast was excellent.
The only thing I would say it was a rugby weekend and we were the only people staying there and to be honest felt we were more of a hindrance than welcome. We have stayed here numerous times as we have relatives nearby  but this time has left us underwhelmed.  Maybe it's time to try somewhere else?  On future  six nation weekends maybe refuse bookings?

Cold reception

Christmas day dinner for 5 of us. Absolutely delighted, meal was lovely, service was first class. Thank you and your extremely hard working and pleasant manner. Loved it and we had a great time will definitely go again next year. Meanwhile we always go there for lunch or evening meal

Family at The Harp

The problem is the landlord! We were standing at the front of the bar waiting to be served. He deliberately asked people standing behind us what they wanted to drink. When he did serve us he snatched the money from my hand and didn't speak at all. He may have been having an off day but later he actually swore at two locals, no smiling involved. We hadn't been there before and won't be going again. An uncomfortable experience as we were guests of someone else who was acutely embarrassed by his behaviour. No complaints about the rest of the staff though

Be prepared for an effortlessly rude reception

The room seemed good, we adjurned to the bar where we discovered to my astonishment that there was no real ale :-(  It had run out and not been replaced. Terrible.
The food was OK but back in our room we discovered that the television did'n't work.
The bathroom was very awkward to use and the shower was very slippery, dangerously so, IMO.
I reckon no-one from the hotel had actually stayed in the room to test it. 
We shan't be returning.

A pub with no beer

Absolutely awful meal. Worst roast dinner I’ve ever ate. Food tasted old, inedible, cold. 6 Carvery’s barely touched. Somehow tasted dusty. To then not offer any discount considering we had barely touched the meal, Complete waste of money. Avoid! 


Avoid!

I booked ahead for dinner, but when I got there, the main dinner area had been reserved for a birthday so I had to eat in the bar area. The door to the dinner area was also closed so everyone had to file through the bar, so it was all quite disturbing when dining. The food was okay - a nice whitebait starter and lamb dinner (although the lamb was a little undercooked) and a lovely pavlova to finish, whilst the staff were lovely. Overall, the food was okay, service great, but dining experience was poor. I was going to go back a second night but decided against it in the end. It wasn't as good as when I ate here a year ago.

Decent food, poor experience.

Had been to the Harp previously whilst on holiday in the area  and thought would give it another try  but Food bland and overpriced for what was served. Lovely looking surroundings but need to sort out food unfortunately.

Sub Standard food taste

Although this hotel / pub is on a reasonably major road. the rooms are intelligently at the back, well insulated from the road.  No road noise inside the room.  And a pleasant view of fields at the back.

Nice bar.  Food in restaurant was pretty good, although my lamb was a little overcooked.  Pleasant room. Breakfast was excellent, although not sure why they pre-set tables for the guests all in a cluster - would rather have been able to choose my own table.

Recommended.

Surprisingly good

We had a lovely relaxing meal with excellent service. Daniel is an excellent host & nothing is too much trouble.
Will definitely return. We highly recommend The Harp @ Letterston. Thoroughly enjoyable evening. Thank you all. From

Family meal

Lovely meal yesterday evening. Plenty of choice on the menu including for Vegetarians. The restaurant side is nicely furnished. The service was good and the food arrived promptly. Even managed a lovely slice of cheesecake.
