Having spent part of my childhood in Leven, I wanted to revisit memories by seeing again places that were once part and parcel of my life. I had the single room and was the only guest, however Airin is such a warm person, I felt really welcome in their home. It was delightful to have breakfast in such a grand room, while looking out at mature trees and being aware I was surrounded by nature. If you need a setting that restores your soul, then Montrave House is the ideal venue.

Space to reflect!

I stayed here back in June, as I was in the area for a wedding. I was incredibly lucky to find this place - truly a hidden gem! Airin was faultless and made you feel at home - top marks. The breakfast was delicious, and considering the price, the room was better than expected. The land around the property is beautiful and calming. I would absolutely stay again, if I found myself in the area once more. Honestly, one of the best B&Bs I've stayed at. Wonderful experience.

Wonderful stay and excellent value!

Excellent venue for a small family gathering . Very comfortable rooms and large communal kitchen/lounge. All our needs were met ; hosts could not have been more accommodating . The breakfasts were delicious and the extensive grounds interesting

From the moment we enquired and booked Montrave House we were in good hands.
Everything was straight forward and a few days before arrival we received a very welcoming email with detailed directions and photos.
Our flight to Edinburgh was delayed so we didn't get to our accommodation until 8pm but Airin was there with her lovely smile and a very warm welcome. The house is situated down a long drive so once you arrive you are struck by the peace and quiet.
We were attending our nephew's wedding at the nearby Pratis Barn and this was the closest B & B and seemed to have excellent reviews.
Our family members had booked the remainder of the rooms so it felt as if we were staying with a relative! We booked the room with the super king bed, which is a very generous size room and the bed very comfy. The en site is the size of a family bathroom overlooking fields with horses grazing.
On the ground floor is a large family room/kitchen and cozy sitting room with a spectacular fireplace. This was a great place to congregate with the family and where Airin serves her legendary breakfasts!
Breakfast is certainly a highlight as you have the choice of Scottish cooked breakfast or Indonesian as this is from where Airin originates. 
We stayed 3 nights and for the whole time were made to feel welcome and looked after in a very unobtrusive way.
Each day our beds were remade and the rooms refreshed. 
We travel a lot for a living and have become quite fussy over the years but this is about the best experience we have had staying at a B & B. There are so many lovely personal touches around making it feel authentic and genuine.
We would not hesitate to recommend  Montrave House and would return in a heartbeat!

Family weekend

What a fantastic place to stay, we stayed here for seven days and nothing was too much trouble for Airin and Nicholas, The house is wonderful full of character, the bedroom was large and airy. Airin cooked fantastic breakfast including if you wanted a Indonesian breakfast was amazing. It’s set in its own grounds and there walks to do. Nicholas and Airin also do glamping in what are wigwams which have heating shower etc. Thankyou so much for making us feel so at home in your wonderful home.🏠

Fantastical

We decided to stay within an hour of Carnoustie golf course and found this hidden gem.
Without a doubt the best ever b&b We have ever stayed at . We were met at the door by airin and nick .husband and wife. The nicest people you could 3ver wish to meet. They own the Montrave estate which nick now farms since taking over from his father. 
They have many different things going on , in the estate. They have an area where they have a business called wig wams , a glam ping site that looks a lot of fun. 
As for the b&b the house is beautiful and the room we stayed in had a four poster bed and overlooked the gardens and fields ..
Airin cooked a wonderful English breakfast , but we were also offered an Indonesian breakfast if we wanted as she originated from Indonesia. 
We declined but took airin up on her offer of an Indonesia. dinner one night which was at a very reasonable price and in my opinion was better than restaurant quality. 
If you get the chance to do this speak with airin..it’s awesome.
All in all it was magnificent stay in the house of a wonderfully friendly family..
I wish the British open was there every year so that we could return ..

This estate is off the main path, but not too far from The coastal route. Our room was large and comfortable, and the breakfasts were cooked to order and delicious. Airin was a delight and cooked an amazing dinner one night. Parking is at the door.

Great B&B in a rural area.

Super B & B, charming and very helpful hosts, lovely big room and modern ensuite, and loved the guest sitting and dining room where we could relax without getting in the way of the hosts, quiet but not out of the way, easy to get around Fife from the house. Beautiful surrounding countryside,  Highly recommended.

Great place!

Montrave House is set in a 250 acre estate so is comfortably away from traffic and other distractions. It's a coach house with stables surrounded by wooded areas, a fantastic place to relax. 

The hosts Nick and Airin are fantastic and really look after guests, ensuring that all your needs are met.

I was travelling by motorcycle and took a single room. The room was quite a good size for a single, it was spotlessly clean as was the attached en-suite bathroom. All the normal facilities are in there such as TV, tea and coffee making facilities.

A communal lounge and dining area is provided for guests where you can fix up your own food, watch TV and attend breakfast in the morning. I had the Scottish breakfast which was perfectly cooked and presented.

If I am in the Fife area, I will definitely stay here again.
