The most perfect wedding. We feel so lucky to have hosted our three day wedding at ML. It was perfect. The venue, the staff - just amazing. We found ML through a photographer we were following & called to enquire about hosting our wedding there. The staff are so incredibly friendly & inviting that our first impressions were very good. We were invited to visit & were very impressed with the estate. It’s a cross between Babbington House & Soho Farmhouse although we think it’s better than both as it offers so much. We went for a wedding in the main house / marquee with the after party in the incredible cellar bar of the main house which is like a mini Cross for those that remember the iconic London nightclub. ML has a dedicated wedding planning team to help you plan your perfect wedding & a few months out you are assigned one of the team who then oversees the delivery and is ever present on the wedding day to make sure all runs smoothly. They liaise with all the suppliers and it’s done incredibly well. We had Anna who was amazing as well as Laura who was the catering manager. We held our wedding over three days with events Friday night & Sunday (fun day) either side of our Saturday wedding. We had the perfect three days. Stress free thanks to the hard work of Anna, Laura and their teams. We can’t recommend this gem of a venue highly enough. Thanks to all the staff at ML for making our dreams a reality. Andrew & Lisa

Wedding at Middleton Lodge

Extremely Disappointed.
Arrived here today which I had hoped was going to be good
Upon arrival we heard some young people in the bar area, which was fine.
However 2 hours later when we were leaving for dinner I think the same people were in the coach house restaurant & it  looked like they had a private room directly next door bearing in mind there was no door too block the loud noise.
The noise pouring through to the restaurant where me and my husband were dining was too  much aswell as
Guests from this party walking back and forth god knows how much to the toilet.
Clearly they were giving this group priority despite the fact that everyone else also being distracted had too paid good money to be there.
When we got to our room the noise was so loud we felt like the party was in our room!
My advice… don’t go unless you want to have a “rowdy”

This place is far more than a hotel, it has so many different room options, restaurants and weddings banquet areas
It is maintained to the very highest standard
We had a different room this time , so we have stayed in three different areas of the estate
All our visits the rooms have been superb 
Excellent lunch in the coach house it was really good
Breakfast was very good indeed the quality ingredients used make it a very good start to the day
Staff make the place 
We can not recommend this place enough
The new spa is the best we have seen

5* place with excellent staff, stunning new spa

I went to Middleton Lodge with my partner to celebrate his birthday. We spent the entire day at the spa, which we truly loved. The spa's cozy and tranquil atmosphere was enhanced by the snow that fell when we visited. The facilities in the spa are great and I feel it is really worth the money. From checking into the hotel to dining at the Coach House and the spa, every employee at Middleton Lodge was excellent. We really appreciate Lucy at the spa, who took care of us and helped to make our day there unforgettable. Our accommodation was lovely and well-kept. The one small drawback, in my opinion, is that it wasn't very well lit when we walked from our accommodation to the Coach House for our dinner. Nevertheless, our food was gorgeous and our breakfast was delicious too. I would definitely visit Middleton Lodge again as we had a fantastic time.

A wonderful and wintery stay at Middleton Lodge.

I paid for an afternoon weekend spa package for me and my mam, and woah! The day was absolutely amazing! At first I thought my god at the £170pp price but honestly money well spent! It was so luxurious, on arrival we got seated to fill out our lunch options and fill out some info to be greeted by the receptionist with a fantastic complimentary drink of what I presume was berries ( it was so nice!) 

We then got given each a robe, towel and some flip flops to change into, we got changed straight away and went to view the facilities, we tried them all! the hot tub, the heated swimming pool, sauna, steam room, even braved the plunge pool! All were fantastic, out in the hot tub we were greeted by a member of staff who asked if she could get us any drinks to which we did and brought them straight out to us! Nothing was a bother and she was herself very lovely! 

With the package you get a 2 course lunch which was fantastic! Very well presented and very tasty, 10/10!!! 

We used the facilities some more until our included treatment Time, then we were greeted by the ladies to give us our treatments, I chose the Indian head massage whilst my mum opted for a facial, both were amazing and both ladies were lovely, the treatments were so relaxing and you could almost fall asleep with the atmosphere, afterwards we were taken to a quiet lounge area where presented on separate boards were a cup of tea, some lemon water and some frozen grapes and a little protein chocolate as the sunset came about we sat peacefully sipping the tea and water and eating the grapes, it felt like a dream! 

We are already in talks about our next visit! Would highly recommend the Forest spa you will not be disappointed one bit!

10/10!!

Recently stayed at Middleton lodge for a wedding which was lovely but I must say the room we stayed in didn’t quite live up to expectations. The room itself cost £290 for the night, in my eyes this price means luxury down to every detail. Upon first look the room is very nicely presented and finished well but when you start to look closer a lot of things aren’t quite right and maybe not thought out so well, for example every socket is hidden behind furniture so you have to move things out in order to get to them. Another thing noticed which I wouldn’t expect in such a place is very grubby paintwork especially in the bathroom and I don’t just mean a little haze of what I’m sure is a well used room there were lots of scuffs and dinks into the paintwork. Also the bathroom was kept clean however the shower screen did have lots of water marks all over so must have been missed in the cleaning process. We were going to mention things upon checkout but the reception was very busy so we just had to hand the key over and go as we were in a rush 

Didn’t quite live up to expectations 

This place is magical, arrived about 3:30 & our room was ready, the Dog house suite was located near the entrance, we drove back up to our cute cottage looking building and parked up, the room was lovely, the view outside was to the gardens where apple & pear trees where all around. The bath hot tub was excellent, turn the taps & filled pretty quickly. The forest spa was unbelievable, we had the twilight spa booked & arrived for 5:30, it was a Monday & we pretty much we had the spa to ourselves, was gorgeous, weather wasn’t great but why avoid the rain when your wet anyway. Made it more fun. We ordered a bottle of Prosecco & nibbles which we eat in the jacuzzi while we were covered from the rain. Then onto our 2 course evening meal at the coach house, this was excellent, the staff were amazing & brought a happy birthday plate for my husband. We enjoyed ever bit of our visit. We will be back, luckily for us it’s just a 30 minute drive. 

A special birthday surprise

We visited today for a family Birthday and the visit was fantastic!. We all opted for a Sunday lunch option , and as 3 of the party have allergies we did check at the time of reservation that they would be catered for. We certainly were not disappointed!. All the staff that dealt with our table were friendly, efficient and no question was too insignificant. As we had already prewarmed of allergies they were very aware of what we could order and how it could be adjusted if needed. The food was excellent quality and was hot and tasted delicious. We also had puddings which were Sticky toffee ((DF/GF), and a delicious crumble with Vanilla custard which was amazing!. The dining area was well spaced, and very peaceful and quiet perfect for my son who has additional needs. Would thoroughly recommend if you are looking for a great dining experience. 

Amazing!!!. 

We were really excited to stay at Middleton Lodge. We love coming up to Yorkshire as a family (kids 11 and 13) once a year to get out of London and enjoy the countryside and wanted to treat ourselves to a nice hotel as we usually do AirBnB. Sadly the website is misleading as its not really a hotel but more of a wedding venue with rooms. At least that is how we were made to feel as hotel residents (staying for 3 nights!). You can't use the new spa (that is absolutely stunning), even just the outdoor pool which is all wanted to use  unless you pay extra and children are not really welcome at any time. We made a bit of a fuss about it and they agreed (slightly begrudgingly) to let us use the pool only from 7:30-9am on a couple of mornings. Not exactly a sociable time when on holiday. When we did take advantage of this offer, we were told by a staff member when we had 15 mins left, which was a bit unnecessarily officious and added to the feeling that we were not very welcome. To note, we were the only people at the pool that morning and never saw many people in it later in the day. We even asked if we could go later (to the pool) in the evening (it looked empty) and the answer was no. It wouldn't cost them much to add a children's swimming time in the morning and the afternoon but I guess they don't really want families at the hotel unless they are there for a wedding.

When we first arrived we asked where there were communal areas to sit and read, play games etc, i.e. normal things to do at hotels, and we were told basically this teeny tiny snug off of the restaurant or outside. It's Yorkshire so of course was raining 50% of the time. After exploring a little ourselves we then found a room off of reception which had games, a tv with dvds and lots of lovely sofas to relax on. It's like they didn't want us to go in there so didn't tell us about the space.

Essentially, it felt like everything we asked to do or see (like the walled garden) was a 'no sorry, that is for weddings or spa guests' so nothing was really thought out for normal hotel residents which is not what I expect from a hotel claiming 5*. You'll see previous' guests comments about the breakfast which I agree with, just felt a little tight.

The hotel is stunning and the setting is lovely and i am sure if we were there on a spa weekend or there for a wedding we might have had a different experience.

Disappointing and didn't feel particularly welcome

We have just returned from 2 amazing nights at Middleton Lodge.  We stayed in Dairy 3 with an outdoor tub and an indoor copper bath. The room was beautiful and very comfortable. We ate at The Coach House each evening and the food was outstanding.  We also really enjoyed our breakfast each day and were more than satisfied with the continental selection and the hot option.  The grounds are extensive and we also enjoyed the woodland walk.  The walled garden is magnificent and it’s so good to see much of the produce used by the kitchen. We will definitely return!
