Food amazing !  The coleslaw is delicious  I could have ate a massive plateful on it's own mmm...staff welcoming !  Will definitely be visiting on a regular basis. Only downside that it was a little chilly in bar area. Overall a really lovely experience

Yummy food

My family and I decided to go out for our Christmas meal last year (2023)  and we all agreed on going to the Pyewipe as we all liked the sound of the menu. So, I made the booking and paid £10 each for the deposit (there was 4 of us). Unfortunately, 1 family member couldn't make it, so I rang up and informed them.  I was told the extra £10 paid would just come off the bill on the day.

Then the day came and I was absolutely shocked at the service we received. Our table was booked for 1200hrs , and by 1240hrs, we were on our third course. As soon as we'd finished our course, the plates were collected and the next course was in front of us. We had one drink throughout the meal as we were not asked if we wanted another. The staff were hovering over us, watching and waiting for us to finish.

Then, after we had finished, I asked for the bill. When it came, it only had £30 taken off (even though I had paid £40). I raised this with the waitress, who said they would send the manager over. I then raised this with him, who informed me that they don't normally take deposits off the bill if you don't show, but as I was told on the phone they would, he would honour this. 

He returned with the new bill, placed it on the table, and went to get the card machine. As he left, he made a sarcastic comment of 'don't worry, I'll pay the difference'. I was a bit confused with this as I'd already paid the £10 he was taking off? My partner queried this with him, only to then receive more rude and sarcastic comments about how he has happy to make the payment. He also told us that as we amended the booking from 4 people to 3 , they've lost out on that seat and extra money?

Given the cost of £76 per person, I'm absolutely appalled at the service we received. 



Shocking service at Christmas 

We stayed in room 5 in the lodge.
Have to say the mattress & bedding needs re- newing. Not a comfy night for sleeping.
We have stayed at the Pyewipe quite a number of times of the last few years but this was not up to the standard we have come to expect previously.
Everything else as good as usual. Food, staff, friendliness etc.

Passing through Lincoln on way to Norfolk.

The lovely walk along the canal turn into a wade through floods, but this can’t be blamed on the Inn which is right next to the canal amidst fields.
We stayed midweek and ate in. Monday & Tuesday meals were distinctly average but the young lady serving in the restaurant was very attentive and friendly.
Wednesday, the restaurant was closed so ate in the bar. Food was much better but the service was hopeless. Needed a big sign saying “Order at the bar - otherwise you will be ignored”. Mind you, we could haves saved money by not telling them what had been missed off the bill.
Our room at The Lodge was warm and comfortable but room cleaning needed improvement.

Better to visit when no floods!

Stayed here for our first time in Lincoln, liked the fact that it was separate from the pyewipe pub, nice location, definitely not a 30 min walk to town, 100% a cab ride around £15. Room was a good size, nice bathroom, twin room with 2 double beds, tiny tv, but generally quite dirty! Cobweb spiders, walls dirty, hair in the sink, shower tiles dirty, just an older establishment but with some modern features. Overall adequate

Pleasant but needs a good clean

We stayed a couple of nights, did some cycling and walked into Loncoln itself. One or two nice cycle routes nearby,from 8 up to 20 miles out and back. About 1.5 miles walk to the edge of Lincoln cente, althoughthen you have to walk uphill quite a way to see the cathedral (very steep, Steep Hill). The location s right on the canal, so eating outside in the summer will be nice, if not busy (lots and lots of tables). The room was fine, had been renovated nicely at some time, although the bed was not as comfortable as I would have liked - maybe a bit less spent on the decor and more on the bed might have been a better idea. They have capability to park bikes in a secure yard, ocked overnight, although it is outside in the elements. We ate twice here in the evenings. Food was good, prices not too bad, mid range. Their breakfast was good as well. I would stay again, for a few days, but after that the bed would bother me.

Talk about a dogs dinner! Yes they make a doggy bowl. Never been anywhere that does beaut human food and feed the dogs just as well! Most definitely will return! #dogfriendly

Dogs dinner!!!

Perfect location to leave your car and walk to the city. Situated alongside the canal, Lincoln City was a pleasant canalside walk of about 30 minutes. The lodge where we stayed was at the other end of the car park away from the pub so it was nice and quiet. Our room was nice and spacious. Housekeeping forgot to change our towels and replenish the tea tray, but that was rectifued by a trip to the bar. We had a meal here which was what I'd call typical pub food. Breakfast was nice but the person serving it seemed a little overworked,  I think probably because we had turned up at 7:45 and she was on her own. On our last day we decided to have lunch before leaving but the manager sent a waitress over to tell us there was no food until mid day. I don't see why he couldn't have told us himself. I would return though because of the location.

Perfect location

On the road leading to the Pyewipe Inn I said, this is a little gem hidden away!! On the road out we said never will we visit here again!!! Spent £79 on 2 starters and 4 burgers, the burgers were disgusting!! The bread felt like it had been frozen and thawed out once the burger had been put in. Some of the bread bun was dry/stale, the onion marmalade was a big cold lump of mush!! Complained to the waitress who fetched the manager. What a delight she was. All she kept on saying was the buns were kept in a fridge, no apology whatsoever!! Offered to give money back on my son’s dessert and that was it!!! Never will I go here again!! The best bit was the manager said to me that they barely have any bad reviews. Wished I had looked at the reviews before going as this is not the case at all!!! Avoid at all costs!!!

Worst meal ever

Stayed in the lodge , found room to be tired and unloved.  Quite dirty it could benefit from a deep clean and some extensive maintenance .  Shower head broken, needed new shower curtain, floor needed a good mop, windows didn’t close properly.  Glad we were only there for 1 night, on a positive nice breakfast and canalside location.  Sure there must be better places to stay for the price charged.
