My friends and I stayed in Pemberton house on the weekend of the 11th and 12th of February. On arrival the beds were slept in and dirty. Towels all over, food all in the kitchen, dirty toilet. To cut a long story short the place had not been cleaned from the previous people staying. We tried to contact the host to ask if they could come and tidy it and nobody answered the phone. It’s a shame about this as the place is in a great location and it’s a lovely, period building. However, I don’t think this is acceptable when you’ve paid £700+ With the pandemic you expect to see higher cleaning standards if anything not to sleep in the same beds that strangers have been in.

Great place but not clean

We were swapped to this location due to maintenance requirements at Bail Mews so what we paid for the 5-bed rental we got was very reasonable.
The location was in a gorgeous part of Lincoln.
The building is fabulous, with history oozing from it.
The noise from the pubs was considerable on a Saturday night (especially the one opposite) but we knew that would be a trade-off with such a great location at the top of Steep Hill.
Unfortunately, this is one of the most un-loved properties I have ever stayed in.
The toilet and kitchen are battered and need attention, also having to access the toilet from the kitchen was not pleasant. The toilet lock was broken and the handle was loose so we had to warn the kids not to lock it or they would not be able to get out!
There was no dining area to eat at - just a very odd uncomfortable lounge.
The bedrooms were good sizes, the beds comfortable but none of the TVs worked apart from one! There were mirrors in some of the bedrooms but not all, no sidelights in most rooms and some even have to turn the only light on from outside the room itself. There were some lovely old pieces of furniture but they were mixed with random pieces of cheap office furniture which were often full of bits and pieces.
Overall, the rooms need re-painting, re-configuring and styling properly, a dining room and decent bathroom put in and probably a new kitchen.
It could be amazing but let down by being neglected.

Great Space - Neglected building - could be amazing

House was very well placed and bedrooms all clean, well sized and very comfortable.. 
Unfortunately lounge was not so clean. Found used towels and bottle of water on the floor. Curtains were missing several hooks and light bulbs needed to be replaced.
This place was ideal for the 4 of us but if it was fully occupied ie up to 10 people (as per beds available) the bathroom facilities would be rather inadequate.
Even so, the advantages of being so central easily outweighed the disadvantages

Stayed there with 3 friends

So we booked the whole of the house out for a night out with 10 people staying there. The overall size of the property was great, with an ideal size living room. 
Was right on the hill and an ideal location and 10 minute walk to the high street/bars.
The only let down was only one bathroom but has been worked with with separate toilet and shower room.
Would definitely recommend this accommodation for people staying over for a night out.

Great property

We've just got back from a stay in Lincoln for my husband's birthday. We stayed at pemberton house at the top of steep hill. I highly recommend this apartment right from the fantastic communication to the check out! The house is beautiful and the bedrooms are large with comfortable beds. We all received our own set of towels and the shower worked perfectly . I can't find a fault with this property and can't wait to book our return visit!

Amazing apartment

We loved to stay in this lovely hose just in the center of the old city. But we did not pay attention to the little notes when we made the reservation. No towels are given if you don't ask for with an extra cost of 5 Pounds. there is only one bathroom so you have to share with other guests. this was not a problem really for us, Beds where confortables but not so big. Having in mind the details we recommend it

I stayed at Pemberton House with a group of girlfriends for a weekend of Christmas Shopping and sightseeing. Pemberton House was in the perfect location for us and offered us everything we could have wanted. After reading previous reviews we were apprehensive about the cleanliness but the kitchen, bedrooms, toilet and shower were clean and comfortable.   The receptionist at the hotel was lovely, friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend this property for a group of friends so you can have the whole place to yourselves and not risk sharing the facilities with strangers. 

Great time

Stayed here last week with a group of 5 females. Firstly, if you get scared by old buildings, this isn't then one place for you. We arrived around 6.30pm and wanted to have something to eat in the in the house. The first first issue we came across was that therewas no oven glove or tea towels, the second issue was that the oven tray was So dirty it set the fire alarm off. We then discovered you had to get someone from the bail house hotel to come round to turn it off. We complained about the state of the tray and she apologised and cleaned it for us there and then. The next day we then came across our  third issue which was that the shower leaks under the door and into the kitchen, the toilet seat was also broken from the start (the toilet is seperate to the shower and is actually in the kitchen). The lady from bail house got hotel again apologised and said they knew about the toilet seat and would send someone round to fix it (should have already been done!) The plates were filthy And looked as though they hadn't been washed from the previous guests (food still on them). Cobwebs everywhere and a used cigarette on the landing covered in lipstick. The bedrooms were the only clean part of the place.  Not impressed with this place at all and certainly won't be returning!

Dirty

Ideally located in the heart of Lincoln, between the castle and the cathedral. A large, very comfortable bed, a shared bathroom among the small residents. A very comfortable living room and convenient kitchen.
