I traded up to Premier Inn after using Travelodge for a few years.  This was a good decision.  The room had a bath, which is always welcome.  I use Wi-fi a lot, and it was available 24/7, unlike Travelodge where it is limited to 30 minutes a day.  This is a Grade I listed building and it's been refurbished to a high standard while retaining some original features of the former tobacco warehouse.  Hotel is a great location for visiting sites such as the 3 graces and the Mersey ferry

Beatles Odyssey

Lovely building and got a room with a great room of the docks. Usual premier inn standards and my wife really found the bed comfy. Bar wasn't open when we arrived for an early drink, but there were plenty of bars nearby. Short walk to the city centre which is what we were there for. Great value for this stay.

Room with a view

Stayed with my mum for a sightseeing weekend. Excellent location, and we had a lovely view from our room of the wheel and the river. We were able to drop off our luggage before checking in. 

King's Dock park is an 8 to 10 min walk away but all flat and along the river. (Validate parking at the car park office when you leave to get discounted £12 per 24hr rate.)

Room was very clean and spacious. Quite dark because of smallish window but not an issue. 

We tried the evening meal both nights, which is excellent value when you have the meal deal (with a prebooked breakfast). Food was very tasty indeed, and a nice quiet restaurant.

Breakfast was very busy and often quite a queue for coffee, but good supply of hot food, pastries etc. 

Generally friendly staff, particularly Anthony who was on reception and served us at dinner. Professional, polite and helpful. 

Would absolutely recommend this hotel for sightseeing the city. Hop on/off bus is a couple of minutes walk and the main museums etc are near. City centre is 10 to 15 min walk.

Excellent location, comfortable stay, excellent value

I stayed here for 1 night whilst on business and I was unfortunately very disappointed.
The good points: very well located for the Albert Dock and surrounding area in Liverpool one shopping, a beautiful building converted well and many lovely features in showing off the age and previous use of the building, a nice restaurant with a good view.
Bad points: room was bloody freezing as the heating didn't work properly (and I wasn't alone in complaining how cold it was, several rooms had the same issue judging by the list at reception), the windows didn't seal well and whistled in the wind, the bathroom was very damp and wood and seals where mouldy, lots of very noisy guests (it is a central hotel so you have to expect a bit), but groups shouting up and down corridors untill 1am.
Upon checking out no one even looked up from the desk or asked about the night, poor service really, as if they were expecting bad comments.
I stay in a lot of Premier Inn's and this was very poor service and definitely bad maintenance here, not what I would expect and I've given 2 stars because of the the location and lovely building, but don't expect a restful night!

Not to usual Premier Inn standard

The good: 

- Well located for the city centre and Albert Dock. 
- Rooms are clean. Bedding, pillows and the mattress were spotless. 

The bad:

- Food. The hotel restaurant leaves a lot to be desired. I ordered prawn cocktail which was poorly presented, tasteless, and the portion size was unbelievable considering the price paid. There were 7 small prawns, and half a cremated stick of sourdough. Terrible. 

A main course of chicken stacker burger was acceptable, but fries were cold, coleslaw was tasteless, and the portion size was astonishing for the near £14 price paid. Considering the many options available in the area, the restaurant is to be avoided.

- The room (114) was dated, and in need of desperate refurbishment. Fixtures and fittings, as well as the shower area, were worn and tired. 

- Pillows are hard and uncomfortable, and all of the same standard, so not easy to find something comfortable to sleep on. 

- Breakfast was poor, with one working coffee machine, meaning a 6:30am queue for coffee. No thanks.

Acceptable for a one night business stay…and no more.

Great location for a short stay, close to nearly everything you need to see and do in Liverpool. Train and bus short walk away. Lots of restaurants around the docks and very close to hotel and cafes too. Definitely stay here again when I return to Liverpool 

Great location, comfortable stay

The most bizarre experience ever. The breakfast was nice and we had quite a comfortable sleep in a reasonably quiet area of the hotel. BUT, we were in room 181 which is located in the centre/inside of the hotel so there is no natural light. There is a window in the room however that seems to be blacked out, except when I approached the window and shone a torch at it, I could see on the other side a small cupboard-like room with nothing but a plant and a bench which was pointing towards our room?! Creey. Safe to say the curtains stayed sealed shut throught the stay. I can't even fathom what the thinking is with this, why put anything in the room if the window is blacked out? We did find the door to this cupboard room with the bench but it was locked and labelled private. Horrifyingly concerning that you can probably look into the room from the other side.
Otherwise the decor and cleanliness of the whole hotel leaves something to be desired. Smallest TV ever in a hotel room and the 2 starts I'm giving is just for the restaurant which was great for breakfast, but maybe I was just excited to be checking out and getting away from the creepy window room?!

Bizarre and almost creepy

Stayed three days room was never cleaned despite asking reception every day.shower room was for someone with disabilities. Wakened by cherry picker at room window on the first morning of our stay.we asked to get moved to another room  but that request fell on deaf ears.

Poor cleaning

The room was spotless and the view looked right over the albert dock, its in an old warehouse and huge iron doors and bare brick walls, I loved it, the staff were lovelyand you could not hear any noise outside your room

We have just returned from a 1 night stay here.  Have used PI before but was disappointed with this hotel.  Location was great, hotel staff were friendly and helpful, but the cleanliness and décor let it down.  Our room had mold all over the bathroom ceiling, holes in the carpet and curtain hooks off the rails.  The reception area could also have done with a good clean.  We wouldn't return.
