Paid £35 to pick caravan early, picked the closest to the complex (Snowden 36). Caravan was new, clean and absolute beautiful caravan. Entertainment was spot on, food was fantastic. Highly recommend going to local town and getting a steam train it's a brilliant couple of hours. 

Fantastic holiday 

The haven holiday park is set in beautiful surroundings.
On arrival we were met by friendly, happy and very helpful staff that work around the clock. 
We stayed on the touring part of the park in our own caravan. The spot where you park is hard standing that has everything you require. The problem is the washing, shower and toilet area that are clearly a second thought.
The shower cubicles are tiny and you can't move around to wash properly. They ate covered in spider webs and there's only limited time (couple of minutes) of hot water before it runs cold.
The toilets are not refilled with roll during the day do please be careful. 
The washing up room has only run cold water which does not help. I feel haven have abandoned touring caravan holidays and let the facilities deteriorate over time. 
I must say that there are plenty of activities to keep any child occupied, but be prepared to pay extra to take part. My daughter has taken part in a few extra activities and found them value for money with staff that go the extra mile. 
The bar is same as every other Haven site and if you do like a drink please take out another mortgage. The entertainment keeps the kids laughing, jumping and loving life for hours.

Touring caravans are a second thought.

Grandchildren time,

This was our first visit to this site and we pre booked swimming and table bookings at the restaurant mash and barrel. 
We had a silver caravan with decking and were allocated rose number 18 the caravan was spotless and looked new. Very comfortable and great location to the main areas. 
We pre booked a few swimming sessions but only went once as the pool is not massive and only a few changing rooms which were soaking wet so disappointed in that.
We ate at the pub which was nice and good service.  Chippy was nice. Pappa John's we didn't enjoy.  The shop is good with lots of choices. 
Evening entertainment was good on the Friday we went a great band.
Live football being shown is a nice one. It's a lovely beach.  
We had a lovely 3 night break and we would come again for a break  I guess it would be very busy in the height of summer saying this it's not a massive site.

Simply lovely 

It was our first time at a Haven (or any caravan park) so this is a review from a complete novice to this type of holiday! 
Great location for the park, easy to find and well signposted. 
We weren't able to arrive for our allotted time, informed them via the app and arrived in the hour after. Lady on the gate told us the caravan wasn't ready and to go to guest information - where we were told it was ready. Bit of miscommunication there! Given a map and directions to the caravan which was fine, easy to find and parking right outside. 
Bronze caravan was clean and tidy on first glance, although as the week went on I did find some rubbish in the main bedroom that had been missed and some dusty areas. No blame to the cleaners I'm sure - I doubt they are given enough time for a thorough clean. 
All appliances clean and working properly. Could've done with some instructions about how the central heating worked, and also what to do with the rubbish. We found the main bins, but no idea what to do with the recycling and unable to find the bins for it so sadly had to put it in with the main refuse.
Swimming pool great and sessions not too busy when we were there. Not enough changing facilities though! Also frustrating that you have to book it so far in advance when you probably don't know what your other plans are. Other activities all seemed well organised, we hired bikes and they were well maintained. Didn't use any other entertainment facilities apart from the games arcade which my son loved! It was a quiet site which suited us, but others may prefer somewhere more lively. Nothing to do in the immediate area apart from walking/the beach/cycling. 
All staff seemed friendly.
My main complaint is that there isn't any WiFi outside of the main building and the mobile signal is very poor throughout the site (in the areas we visited) and this is not made clear on the Haven website or at any point throughout the booking process. This wasn't necessarily an issue except that Haven encourage you to do everything online - confirm check in, book activates, order food for delivery and check out - which you can't do unless you walk/drive up to the main building and go inside (the WiFi is poor outside the building). It also meant we weren't able to plan our day to day activates in the surrounding area from the caravan, which I would have done from home before we left if I knew there was no internet on site. 
Otherwise we had a great trip and would certainly come back to Haven and Greenacres in the future!



First timer! 

I booked this holiday, for my parents and their grand daughter, my dad is terminally ill and I thought it would be great bonding time and peaceful for him.

I even upgraded to a Gold standard caravan thinking this would give them a better experience.

To my horror when we arrived our caravan was across from the late night bar and 5 a side pitch.

When I complained and explained the situation that this was probably going to be my dads last holiday, the manager at reception had absolutely no empathy, didn't really care and just said there was nothing available.

Sadly during our time there we had to listen to footballs being hammered into fences and noise from the bar well into the night.

Our view was of the road and 5 a side pitch and not the tranquil serenity we had been led in the pictures.

On top of this as other have mentioned the main building constantly smelled of sewage, the food was generally very poor and expensive.

The amenities look tired and could do with updating.

We paid a lot of money to make this trip special but instead left feeling very disappointed and upset.

I tried to complain several times but then gave up, absolutely no customer care or service.

Worst Experience

A really good stay, shame about the weather a few days but expected in October. 

We arrived and it was abit dark so it was stressful trying to find our caravan especially as we mis-understood our caravan number ( got there eventually). 

The accomodation was fantastic, very comfy and had all the amenities we needed. 

The site has a park, indoor pool, a sofy play and indoor entertainment area. So plenty for the kids. 

It is located in Morfa Bychan which is about 2 miles from Porthmadog and about 4.5 miles from Portmeirion. 

All in all we had a good stay and if you are looking for a place to stay or a good base for North Wales then this would be a good start :) 

A really good stay, shame about the weather a few days but expected in October 

I have just returned from a holiday at Greenacres Porthmadog with my partner and 3 children (ages 1,6&7) and cannot recommended it enough! From the moment we arrived we were greeted by friendly, smiling staff, from the very first person on the gate to restaurant staff, shop staff, arcade tenders, reception staff, managers and security. The entire park is spotlessly clean and tidy all day long! There is never a sweet wrapper, muddy floor (even while the rain was continuous) or a table left with dirty plates of drinks glasses. The accommodation is outstanding and again faultless and clean. This was the perfect way to spend our bonfire weekend, especially with the tremendous fireworks display put on by staff who organised the whole thing amazingly with all those visitors to please! We had an unfortunate event happen with our car and were unable to drive home, ALL the staff went above and beyond to do what they could to help and we have been left blown away by their kindness! Every single member of staff offered to help in some way and even made our traumatic morning less so by they’re kindness, generosity, friendly faces and kind words. We have never met more genuine kind people. (we’ve been to lots of haven parks) the park and staff by far exceeded our expectations and is by far the best we’ve been to, a decision we made on the very first night! The whole team want to ensure you have the best holiday and we definitely did. Our son has a severe food allergy but the restaurant staff did everything they could to ensure he could eat what he wanted and safely, we normally feel like a huge inconvenience at restaurants even locally but not at greenacres! We already cannot wait to return next season to enjoy another great stay and to see and thank all of the team for being so amazing. I hope this gets past onto them, they deserve to feel special because they really are. Thank you all. If you have not yet booked or visited greenacres then do not wait any longer! Get booking. 

Best haven park around!

The caravan was extremely clean and the beds were fairly comfortable with a good amount of space for us all to enjoy. The park was well maintained. We found the mash and barrel good quality for money in terms of meal sizing and food quality but found the dietary options amiss. We have a child with us who is dairy intolerant and his Mother has to also follow a dairy free diet and had no option than to have gammon every night we ate out as that was the only dairy free option available. I feel as though this isn’t acceptable especially since there were no efforts made by staff to make recommendations until the Sunday when a separate chicken breast was cooked for them to be able to enjoy the roast. The staffs knowledge on the dietary situations with meal was not good at all and it led to a lot of back and to conversations with multiple staff members.  

Overall okau

For a UK holiday with young kids you simply can't beat Greenacres. The park is small (compared to the likes of Hafan y Môr), but perfectly formed. The beach is absolutely stunning and the facilities on site are excellent. It had everything we needed and it is close to so many wonderful places for days out too. 

The caravan we stayed in (a silver rated one on Kingfisher Lane) was perfect - far better than I was expecting. It was comfortable, clean and was well stocked. The living space was a great size. The beds were really comfy. Having two bathrooms was great.

The entertainment team at the park was absolutely fantastic. On the first night our 6 year old was really shy, by the end of the week we couldn't drag him from the dance floor. Seeing him getting so involved in the games and dances was wonderful. Ed, Alice and Ben (and the others) were just brilliant with the kids. They had so much energy and such a sense of fun. That said, we had a great time too! I loved the retro bingo (Ed's calls were spot on) and the interactive quiz (we came a very respectable third place). The magician (Mark James) was also really good.

As it was so close, we ventured into Porthmadog a few times whilst here. We took a trip on the 'Woodland Wanderer' steam train, which was amazing. The Port cafe was lovely (try their lemon meringue pie - you won't regret it). The ice cream at Cadwaladrs was to die for. We also went over to Criccieth for a walk along the front and to skim some stones. Whilst there we went to Cafe 46, which was a delight (amazing cheese scones).
