We had a really nice meal at Tafarn Y Deri for 8 adults and 2 children, and it was very reasonable priced. A good choice on the menu too. They were able to cater for my grandson who is lactose intolerant, and not the usual sausage or burger either. The place really went downhill a few years ago, but these new owners are doing  excellent meals. I would thoroughly recommend.

Lunch mid week - delicious with great service -What a super lunch today at Tafarn y Deri Llanedi . The restaurant had suffered flooding but has just reopened . We picked off the main menu, which  is soon to be extended  but the quick lunches selection was quite varied version of jacket potatoes and sandwiches . 
Paul enjoyed large cod in batter served with sauté potatoes mushy peas tarter sauce and lemon. 
I enjoyed the bowl of creamy peppered chicken , with garlic sauté potatoes and green salad. It had masses of chicken breast smothered in creamy spiced sauce with peppers and onions -delicious!
Service was quick and efficient with excellent conversations with Paige . Who willingly posed for some snaps in the light brightly decorated conservatory . A log stove in the inner area added to the comfort of that area.
Paige explained that marks are served every day with carvery on Weds evenings. 
A quiz is held on a Tuesday eve 8 pm when tapas are available . Entry per player is £1 ad teams can be no larger than 6 people.

Wonderful service & great food

Booking experience was easy, and the service was great (thanks Fiona). The food, too, was amazing - plenty of choice and lovely quality. One of our party needs gluten-free and they catered brilliantly for him. My only negative is that the decor was a little "tired", but otherwise superb. Will definitely be going again!

Lovely little find - excellent food!

This restaurant is well worth a visit. Lovely location, clean and excellent food. Staff were very friendly, newest owners have turned the place around. Will definitely be making it a regular stop and going back soon! 

Popped in for lunch as we were passing.

We stayed on the last night of our trip celebrating our fifty-first wedding anniversary as it broke the journey and we had not stopped here before. We arrived well before check-in time and sat in the bar with a glass of cider. My wife was tired and would have liked a siesta and to their credit, the room was made available somewhat earlier than their normal arrival time.  
The evening was most entertaining with our waitress in good form pulling our leg.  The food was excellent, together with a bottle of wine which was included in the deal we were on.
Everything was fine until I had taken my shower in the morning. I could not fully turn the shower off. It was down to a trickle but when my wife went to use it, she was in water up to her ankles as the drain was not allowing the water to flow. I immediately dressed and went down to look for help but there was no one there at ten past eight. In fact, there was nobody I could warn until ten to nine, by which time, Having ordered our breakfasts, the kitchen was flooded and so we had to go off to Llanelli to find Wetherspoons.
Would we go back?  Of course, these things happen and I think the waitress was more upset at our losing our breakfasts than ourselves.
The Tafarn Y Deri only re-opened in May of 2022 and the hard work being put in by Cath, or Kath, and her husband, who is the chef, and their excellent staff, is well worth supporting.

absolutely fabulous sunday carvery plenty of meat and a great selection of vegetables and the gravy was delicious served by Paige and Ffion who were both amazing and very friendly will definitely be going back 

Delicious Sunday Carvery

1st time we had been to  Tafan Y Deri.
The decor was lovely, the atmosphere friendly.   We were served at the table by a lovely, polite young man.  The food was absolutely amazing!  I had a vegi lasagne and it was the best one I have tasted for years! My husband had a rump steak which he said was cooked to perfection! Very tender and sliding apart.  Of course I had to have a dessert, which was just as delicious as the main course!  We have rebook to go again. 

Fantastic food, friendly staff, great atmosphere.

Went to Tafarn y deri tonight with a friend for an evening meal. I had a curry rice half and half. It was absolutely fantastic. The waitress we had was curious at all times. Fantastic. Will definitely come qgain. Thank you.

First time we have visited in many years and it was superb! The welcome we received was amazing and with two little ones we had one of the best family experiences of eating out. All meals and desserts were delicious and we can’t wait to book again! Thank you so much Tafarn y Deri is our new favourite place for a meal or celebration 

Incredible experience

I stayed in BnB at it was amazing. After travelling from Scotland we were made to feel very welcome in an extremely homely environment. We had food in the resturant and it was to die for! I would highly recommend this place for both the food and BnB stay, the breakfast was amazing! All staff members were amazing and so attentive, staff members Ffion and Evan were exceptional. Very happy and we will 100% be revisiting soon. Such an amazing small buisness that deserves every success.
