Lovely hotel, great location. Staff polite and helpful. Welsh breakfast delicious and cooked to perfection,(served 8am to 9.30am).  Lovely outside areas, some of which are under cover.  If you're lucky you might meet the resident cat 'Lucifer' (all black and v.friendly). There are also picnic benches looking out over the lake. Good base for visiting beauty spots throughout Snowdonia. We booked dinner for both nights of our stay and we really enjoyed the food, it was delicious.  The lady who served us was really attentive. Room itself was cosy, comfortable mattress and a view across the lake. Tea and coffee facilities, plus biscuits which is always appreciated. We had a wonderful break at this hotel and highly recommend.

Perfect short break....

Beautiful location, average accommodation, disappointing lack of response to telephone messages or emails so we didn’t find out the room we’d requested was unavailable until after arrival. Satisfied with an alternative lake-view room, found road noise a bit intrusive early morning. Loved: the view, the real fire in the sitting room, homely feel in the bar area and great chips at dinner (a real high spot). Hated: the “American pancakes” at breakfast - rubbery little silicone disc things from the cash & carry run through the toaster (inedible) and the lukewarm latte served in the bar one morning. Guests must still ask if they want their rooms serviced (a bit unusual post-Covid?) but acceptable if well notified in the room (it’s not) and there was no replenishing of fresh milk & biscuits in our room either. Welsh breakfast pre-cooked and passable, but the cereal I chose was unfortunately stale. Staff generally efficient, we had a charming & delightful, smiley breakfast waitress one morning followed by one who really wasn’t the next. Dinner choices limited, not much in the way of salad or lighter choices but the Lamb pie was nice. Would recommend asking for a table in the bar/dining area rather than the conservatory.  Not really our cup of tea, Tyn y Cornel just felt a bit impersonal and missing the little quality touches for the price point (we paid £141/night in February for a double room with lake view). Popular for the views I’m sure, but perhaps cruising due lack of accommodation choices in the area. I am a bit surprised by the rave reviews on TA tbh,I would say decidedly average.

Arrived to a very friendly welcome hotel is in a stunning location on the side of the beautiful lake plenty of car parking and we were able to check in early. We booked a dog friendly room overlooking the lake there was no evidence of any dogs previously being In The room hard floors and good cleaning meant there was no evidence of this. Room was lovely and warm with a big picture window on the edge of the lake very comfy bed great tea and coffee station large TV and lovely bathroom with small entrance hall handy for boots coats cases etc. WIFI also very good code provided , lovely white fluffy towels but only two plug sockets difficult for charging 2 x phones and Apple Watches making a cup of tea and using the hairdryer !! Although on the side of the road was very peaceful and we slept well. Fabulous breakfast cooked to perfection and a separate dog area so you can bring your dog to breakfast with you. Lovely bar area with gorgeous fire very warm and cosy and busy with lots of walkers and wild swimmers and guests. We ate on the first evening but quite a small menu with limited choices food was good but breakfast was the star of the show. Easy access to stunning beaches walks and Calder Idris and very dog friendly 

The only reason I haven’t give 5* is the room has a gorgeous picture window but two hard dining chairs to sit on these definitely should be replaced with comfy chairs like the tub armchairs in the bar area because it’s a stunning view , more plug sockets or USB ports needed In The room and larger more diverse menu would of been appreciated. Breakfast service should have another server as there was a wait to order and get table laid up In the bar dog friendly area and had to ask each morning for teapots couldn’t seem to find any staff to get this actioned as only one man in doing it all 

Would certainly revisit and recommend it was a lovely stay

Great Weekend in a Stunning location

No stress relaxing break with the family, fantastic surroundings, close proximity to the wonderful mountain biking in the area, clean comfortable rooms and the dining was excellent. All the staff were friendly and helpful and sion went above and beyond to make sue our stay was as enjoyable as could possibly be. We will definitely be back. Top marks tyn y cornel hotel.

Far too cold for comfort.  There was no heating on anywhere - checked all radiators!  Wood burning stove in the centre of the room had lit candles... Chose soup as all other dishes were served with chips.  Service was adequate but when we asked if we could sit in the main area inside the hotel, rather than where they put us, which was in the conservatory, the waitress was rather short.  Soup was mediocre but puddings were good.  Only two members of staff trying to serve food to a busy restaurant and serve at the bar - not enough.  Overall very disappointing.

Went here for a staff dinner . Although a large group of us the food was hot and every course was absolutely delicious. Being vegan don’t really expect much but the three courses were amazing . Lovely place . Thank you . Will see you again very soon.

Amazing meal

Lovely little hotel in a beautiful setting. Polite, helpful staff & excellent food. The DBB package was very good value. Standard valley view room was pretty compact but cosy and fine for a night. I can imagine the lake view rooms at the front of the hotel might be noisy as it's the only road through the valley.

We have stayed at the hotel for many years. The rooms are very comfortable especially the bed, covers and pillows. Every where is very clean and well presented. 
The food has always been very good and the service exceptional. In fact what makes this hotel very good is the staff and their attitude. Nothing is too much trouble. Don't forget the stunning views over the lake and mountains from the restaurant. For us brilliant.

Excellent quiet get away in the middle of breath taking countryside.

We stayed here for one night on our Wales road trip. What a fantastic setting! The lake and mountain backdrop are truly magical. The hotel keeps its quaintness but has been renovated to add modern bathrooms. We were lucky enough to secure a lake view room which was a bonus.
I chose this hotel as well for its vegan friendly menues. The breakfast was great but unfortunately my evening meal choice of mushroom bourguignon was more like carrot surprise and hunt the mushrooms! Disappointing. If you like dogs, this place was like being at crufts which spoilt it for me and I found it off putting. The hotel is not directly on the lake and a busy road lies between it and the lake. If you are into wild water swimming, you can do so in the lake as many people were doing when we stayed. Also a good base for the Mach loop. 

Mixed blessings

The location on the bank of the beautiful calm lake  is breathtaking,  waking up to see this beauty is really special.
Breakfast was very very good, rich with and tasty, and the service was wonderful .
The standard room was not very  spacious, the bed takes most of the room, but we knew that in advance when we booked it.
