The first night was going well. Lovely food, lovely,  helpful staff. But.   In a place  in the middle of nowhere, to suddenly be told the bar shuts at  9.00 was forgivable.  We did get a few drinks in and get the fire going,  but, come on . Had a great stay, visiting the area, but only in spite of the gullag rules. Won't be back.

Get a grip !

The views from rooms are great, staff went out their way to help no problem there. Food was good but expensive. The bar I thought shutting at 21.15 I thought wasn't good. People wanting to enjoy there stay at the hotel and being told at 9 oclock sorry but bar shutting that for me is an issue. Hotel is nice but very cold and needs some work done. Possibly would stay again if the issues were resolved 

Was ok. Overpriced

Stayed in upstairs rm2 supposedly upgraded to full view of the loch.  Its just off the main A82 fairly busy road. Arrived at night luckily 2 driveway entrances. The car park was full so went round the other which was not lit.  We'd booked a table for dinner. Shared starter of grilled goats cheese served with Cream Crackers. Was ok. Mains Balmoral chicken, overcooked, vegan burger was ok but out of a packet, not home made. 2 glasses wine and tap water £44.
Upstairs the room looked ok. Nice enough bathroom but outside bathroom door all the paper on the ceiling peeling off. Cobwebs around ceiling. One bedsite light bulb not working. Obviously leaked from above and not repaired. Bed was 2 mismatched singles pushed together. Nothing under the sheet to protect or soften matress buttons. 1 bed was so badly sprung the springs stuck into you. 2 ended up in other single bed. The most awful discomfort and disturbed sleep. Shower ran hot and cold in the morning.  No one around just drop off key. Do not stay if you want a nice meal and good sleep.

Awful.  Overpriced. All show no comfort

We stayed at the Lodge on the Loch. The hotel building is in poor shape in need of a serious renovation. It is very moist and rain coming in several places. The surrounding grounds are not kept and often garbage is lying around the property. We cannot recommend the hotel.

Views are great and friendly staff, but hotel itself  is very tired... Needs urgent refurbishment! 
Cleanliness in room was very poor, dusty shelves, bathroom tiles with dirty buildup, shower head taped up with scotch tape, rusty bathroom heated towel rail... Would I stay here again?... Sorry but NO, as it's definitely not worth £100 a night....

Overpriced!!!

I’m sorry but this hotel is overpriced and lacks in many ways.
The only good thing was the view.
Bar closed at 8-30pm even to residents.
The room was clean but I felt sorry for who ever was in the room below because the floor boards squeaked at every move.
Trying to have a chat and a drink in a little snug room off the reception was interrupted by two children playing football in the reception area.
We was £560 for four of us for one night??.
Won’t be back.

Over priced 

We stayed 2 nights at this hotel. We booked a room with a view to the Loch which was beautiful. The room was very spacious, had a little lounge/seating area with view to the Loch. The staff is very friendly and allowed us to check in slightly earlier. The hotel also has a lounge area and a restaurant but we did not try the food here. Parking is easy and there is enough space infront of the hotel. 
I gave only 3 out of 5 stars because I found the hotel overpriced. We experienced that issue for most hotels on our 9 days Scotland trip but this one was the most expensive one with a bit less value (£165 per room per night excl breakfast). The tea/coffee offer in the room was more limited to other hotels and the street infront of the hotel is a bit noisy. The location is however beautiful and with a view steps you are directly at the Loch. Would not mind to come back with more reasonable prices in future (maybe post covid :) )

Lovely location close to the Loch but a bit overpriced

Staff very helpful and friendly with storing bikes, breakfast and dinner orders.  If you can get room with bath great, ones with shower bit small.  Parts of hotel bit tired but it did its job for us well.

Overnight stay on cycling tour

Despite a slight mix up over my booking the hotel managed to find me a ‘room’ for the night. I sat room as I ended up in a suite in the rafters. Spacious 5 bed suite with a small sitting area. Huge bathroom too. Not luxurious but a handy room for a family perhaps. I had dinner and this was ok and the range of choices was interesting. The views from the hotel across the Loch towards Ballahuilsh and the Dragons Tooth is perhaps the best thing of all!

Nearly No Room at the Inn

It was the rolled top stand alone bath and the view over the loch that made me book this hotel, with little seats and table at the window. It was a special occasion and took bottle of champagne with us.  It was expensive for what it was but the view was fantastic sitting at the window. Staff were all very friendly, but all males, no females in sight? The bath was great for me, but for my husband who prefers a shower, the little hand shower to rinse your hair in the bath was not to his liking.  Food was ok but for breakfast the waiter brought me lots of smoked salmon along with a very different scrambled egg, it was like chopped up fried eggs, though I must say it was tasty.  Evening meal of lasagne was good, very cheesy, but my husband not so keen on his burger brought out on a chopping board.  The paint work in the bedroom and the bathroom could have been done better, though everything was very clean.
