Visiting from US. I stayed here a couple of years ago in the St John's Suite. Everything then was great. 

This time I'm in the Hampstead Suite. It's more just OK, even though I'm now paying a lot more. One thing in this particular unit is that the mattress is really bad. Don't know why they don't replace it as it's an easy thing to do to make a better experience for the traveller.

I have stayed in a lot worse hotels at this price point in this area. The owners obviously have put a bit of money in to the place. My overall impression, however, is that this is a bit of a "work in progress". I rated it 3 out of 5.

Reasonable value for area

New owners have only been hear a couple of weeks doing well er vamped the pub all fresh nice and friendly clean and good choice of food you can have English food or Indian and drinks well worth a visit in door and outdoor seating prices are good nice quiet area had stay hear again when am in London

Nice eatery located in peaceful area,limited seating but good decor.Good Indian delicacies specially Bhel,Palak patta chat.Bar is there with good variety of Indian street food with efficient services.Confusion in name no where Patakha mentioned.

Popped n for a quick drink this evening & to see what the place was like. £5 for a beer was reasonable but £9.50 for a glass of Pimms seemed excessive. When I challenged this I was told that it included £2.50 for the Sprite! So I don’t think we’ll be returning to this establshment.

Disappointed

We'd had a drink in the garden in the sunshine in the afternoon and the place had a nice vibe, so we booked a table for dinner. Had the Lamb Shank. Can't go wrong cooking that. It was tired, though and so was the meagre accompanying veg. It was 22 quid, so I expected better than something I'd eat in hospital.

Nice garden - disappointing meal

Beautifully renovated pub serving a great range of drinks and with a fantastically varied food menu. My traditional fish and chips was the best I’ve ever eaten in a British pub.

The staff ensured friendly and attentive service but without being overbearing or too pushy.

Large, well designed garden too. Highly recommended.

Great British pub

This place used to be the best in town, with the new chef - we ordered a fish and chips, and I have never ever in my life thrown food out. It was absolutely terrible. 
I really hope this changes - would not recommend this place to anyone

New owners, never had this bad food in my life

Fantastic food great portions and lovely warm friendly service.We stayed in the hotel next door and ate here each night as it was so good and very reasonable. The atmosphere was very cosy.Would definitely recommend the Camembert and prawns and salmon and the fish and chips. We stayed for 2 nights and ended up eating here both nights it was so delicious.

Great restaurant

Friendly staff and great original cocktails by Aman at the bar. Spacious, clean bathrooms. I was there for a drinks event so did not get to sample much of the food but the finger food I tasted was also good. I think our event had 30-40 people and there was ample room for us in one section of the establishment.

We’ll run pub with great cocktails

Fabulous service and amazing Negroni cocktail made by Aman at the bar. Nabila the waitress was especially professional in dealing with our orders. It was a great experience all round. Food was great and will most certainly be going back...
