Hilton London Hyde Park 

We spent three nights here as a central location to visit friends in the area. As a Diamond member I wrote to the hotel asking for an early checking as we would arriving in London noonish. We arrived at 11, were told they would have a room ready by noon, and at 1120 the manager came into the restaurant where we were having coffee to tell us that our room was ready and we had been upgraded to a very nice "Deluxe King." The room was clean, the bathroom modern with a great shower (Hans Grohe fixtures...) and more. Outlets everywhere (thanks!), nice large desk and a good eating table and chairs as well. We enjoyed a very good breakfast buffett with many hot and cold options, very good baked goods, and omelets to order. We also dined twice in the hotel restaurant (a French bistro) and both the service and food were excellent and they make a nice of market price cocktail. The best part of the trip was the staff. They immediately apoligized for the room not being ready even though we were the ones who were early, stowed our bags, helped us taking them to our room, helped with taxi bookings, and more. The hotel is small but cozy, the location is amazing across from Kensington Gardens, above the Queensway Tube stop and 2 blocks from the Bayswater Stop. Easy walking to Kensington High Street markets, etc. We'd stay here in a minute if we needed to be in this area of London.
