Stayed for a couple of nights as a base to visit the local area.
We didn't realise just how remote it was, being virtually the only building in the area but that was our fault for not researching it better.
A large comfortable room, but if you want it serviced you must inform the management in the morning. The bathroom was somewhat smaller in proportion to the bedroom and would be absolutely impossible for two people to be in there at the same time.
Excellent freshly cooked breakfast and multiple choices for great value dinner in the evening.

Very nice but somewhat remote

A rushed late booking led us to one of our best “Inn” experiences. Extremely friendly and welcoming staff who could not do enough for us. Wonderful dinner and a perfect breakfast looking out over the rolling hills of the Northumberland district. Room was lovely and clean with a very comfortable King sized bed. Shower could have done with more pressure but it was still ok. Highly recommend for a relaxing stay.

Brilliant experience

The Anchor Inn was a charming place to stay with its beautiful surroundings and friendly staff. 

The room we stayed in was decorated really nice and was also very spacious. The food we had during our stay was tasty and the staff were accommodating and helpful.

I would highly recommend this hotel and pub!

A lovely visit!

Found this place totally by chance whilst away for work. 
Staff are friendly, menu is extensive but full of all the favourites, and the food is a fine plateful. All clean, well presented and would have no hesitation in returning in the future.

Great food at a low price

3 company members stayed here and we were well looked after throughout. 
The rooms are lovely and modernised to a good standard. Plenty of little extra touches including bathrobes and many toiletries etc.
The hotel is in a reasonably quiet area and  the surrounding countryside enhances the stay what more can you want.
The food which we all chose differently- was thoroughly enjoyed by us all, my pizza was ace- so thin but with many toppings certainly tasty and filled you up.
Good choice of real ale to try to.
Breakfast next day was also very tasty and there was plenty of it to!
Will try again when in the area

Great food, very nice rooms

A little time to spend with friends led us to meet at the Anchor Inn. 

This involved a lovely drive in the country to the destination however it was worth the trip. 

Views from the place were lovely and the Inn a nice relaxing place for lunch.

The food was good and well presented by friendly staff to whom nothing was a bother. In all a nice friendly Inn with wholesome food and a warm welcome. I cannot comment on the rooms but I hope to revisit so as to spend a night and enjoy the evening meal
