Was staying here for a couple nights with the family and we needed some extra service. They were able to provide us with everything we needed without any hesitation. Very friendly staff in the reception, guaranteed best service in London!!

Family visit in London

The hotel is very well located close to Liverpool st station; it's quite so you  get a good night sleep - staff is super friendly - breakfast is not worth it, not value for money - worst thing is the rooms were not done, included bathroom cleaning, during my 5-day stay

The hotel is not brilliant, there was a strong smell of sewage or dirty bins throughout the hotel. The breakfast area was not welcoming and the staff didn’t seem to want to be there!

Lovely staff, terrible

On the plus side, the hotel is in a convenient location and was affordable. Desk staff were also helpful. However the hotel itself needs an overhaul, as the facilities are very basic. There is no lounge or waiting area, no self check in desks and no air con.  The bedrooms are very old and small, and the windows do not stop the noise from the neighbouring market and residential flats.  The restaurant area was too small to seat everyone who arrived for breakfast. Compared to its sister hotel just 500 metres away in Aldwych, this hotel is a poor relative.

Tired and dated hotel

Tina and Prakash at the front desk make your check in smooth. The empathy they have for a weary traveller is an asset to Travelodge. I would have stayed just one night, per my original plan, but I made it 2. And thanks to Matthew, who was helpful and understanding, I added a 3rd night. The property has fantastic location, it's clean and tidy, and its staff is warm. What more can you ask for !

Horrible place. Save yourself the money and disappointment and book anywhere else. The staff are disorganised, some are rude. The hotel smells really bad, is freezing cold and utterly miserable.

Avoid

A cheap place to stay with adequate facilities, but below the standards I’ve come to expect from this chain.
The bathroom did not feel clean enough and so I did not feel like I could use the bath. The nonslip matting in the bath was grey-black in colour as though dirty soap scum had settled into the crevices and never been cleaned. 
The room was adequate but very noisy - not only could we hear other patrons inside the hotel staggering about, but even with the windows closed and sealed we could hear every train going by, every lorry making deliveries, and even drink orders by as the left the pub down the street. It was so loud that it sounded as though the window were still open, so we did not sleep well that night. Additionally, the bed was so hard that I woke up with a seized back and required help to get out of bed the next morning.
In the evening before going to bed we decided to have dinner in the hotel restaurant. First of all we found the bar unmanned and pressed the bell to get attention as directed. When the bar staff member arrived, he took our order with a series of grunts and exasperated sighs that made us feel as though we were greatly inconveniencing his evening. Additionally, having waited over half an hour for our food he finally came out to tell us that they didn’t have the item my son requested (and had already paid for) and that he had to choose something else. As a result, my food came out much before his and we did not eat at the same time. When my food arrived, rather than the red chicken tikka I was expecting, I received a brown, very spicy, generic chicken curry. It was perfectly edible and good value for money, but it was not what I ordered and was far spicier than what I would normally have chosen and had I known that I would have ordered differently.
Overall this was not the best hotel experience I have had, and while I would recommend Travelodge on the whole to my friends, I would advise them to avoid this particular branch as it is not up to par.

Take earplugs. It is in Central London so outside noise unsurprising
