The hotel was perfectly fine, rooms a good size bed comfortable the only issue we had  was when I asked for a couple of extra pillows as I was heavily pregnant it seemed to be a big problem. We also had a damp carpet around the bath room area which smelt slightly damp which is why we have only give three stars. If we hadn’t had these little issues I would have given it more as it would have been good value for money. 

Good enough for what we needed 

After searching for a hotel that wasn't going to cost us an arm and a leg for 3 people in central(ish) London I settled on the Dalmacia.  It wasn't terrible but it wasn't great!  The guy that served us was nice enough if not a little odd.... he couldn't seem to confirm that the third member of our group had booked a room for himself on the final couple of nights - didn't look like organisation of files was a big priority.  The room itself was up a flight of dodgy looking stairs and was small but adequate.  The main issue was the bathroom was about to fall apart (the shower looked like it had been glued together) and the door was one of those bifolding ones that are almost impossible to shut (to make matters worse there wasn't a doorknob on the inside - just a screw so it was even harder to try and close the door properly).  Didn't seem dirty and the location wasn't bad (right in between Shepherds Bush and Gloucester Road stations which was great) but next time I probably would just suck it up and pay a bit more and stay in Kensington at the Base2Stay like we did last time!

Looked a wee bit like the door might fall off or trap one of us.....

We booked a twin room at this hotel at the very last moment, just one week before our arrival. We were looking for an affordable room with Wi-Fi and breakfast, not necessarily in Central London, but at least near to a Tube Station.
The hotel is very easy to find, about 1 km from Hammersmith Tube station, which is very convenient as Hammersmith is served by no less than 4 tube lines, and several buses.
Outside the hotel is a bus stop which will take you to the tube station, so you won’t have to walk to and from the tube station. Be aware that bus tickets cannot be purchased on the vehicle by cash, you’ll need to have either  an Oyster Card or Travelcard.
The location is fine, it’s not central London, but safe and not too loud. There are a couple of pubs and, in Hammersmith station, lots of franchises like Starbuks, McDonald’s, Pret à Manger etc.
It’s the typical London hotel, a Victorian house transformed into a hotel, with small but comfortable rooms, with ensuite bathroom.
We had room 17, which was the very last room, at the topmost floor, with no elevator. It’s about 50 steps anyway, not that much, but if you’re not that young, or carrying a big suitcase or a buggy, that may be an issue.
What disappointed me of the hotel is that breakfast is not complimentary, as stated in their website. That’s not a big issue, as Hammersmith station is packed with bars, but it would have been nice to know beforehand, especially as I expected the fare to include breakfast. It costs 4£/ person for continental breakfast, and 7£/person for full English. We chose not to have breakfast at the hotel.
Our room was fair: two separate beds, a small wardrobe, a desk with a chair and a small bathroom with shower. Compared with other rooms I’ve been in London, it’s bigger: most rooms will only give you enough room to move, but no desks or wardrobes.
A plus is sure the fact that there is a standard European plug, so we didn’t need any adaptor.
All in all it has been a good service, I would have just wished for more transparency regarding breakfast.

well connected, average hotel

First of all, if you consider staying here, please consider carefully. I hope I never have to stay here again.

My mom, sister and I stayed here 3 nights, 3 nights too many. The main issue we had was with the man in the reception who checked us in, I don't know if he was the manager but I sincerely hope not, if he is, he's working in the wrong industry. We were given the option of a room with 3 beds and a room with a double and a single bed, so we opted for the 3 bed one, as it looked a bit "fresher". Unfortunately when my sister sat down on her bed, the bed collapsed. So we pushed the mattress aside to see what had happened. The wooden slats that stretch across the bed supporting the mattress had fallen down and the bed was...well...in a really poor state and completely useless to us. We immediately decided that we could not pay to stay on a broken bed and went down to "the manager" and asked to exchange for the other room. Little did we know that "the manager" would lose his senses. He accused us of breaking the bed and shouted at my mom for sitting down on the other bed after she had helped him push the mattress back on to the still broken(!) bed. He then complained that he now would be unable to sell this room and this appeared to be our fault. He proceeded to be very rude to my sister and asking her, in a derogative way, if she was a Mr. Fix-it-Guy for having pushed the mattress aside to see what was wrong! Who knows what was going on in this man's head. Very unprofessional. This man should not be working in the hospitality industry.
"The manager" pulled himself together eventually and asked us if our new room was OK, but it was just a little too late.

This very bad experience left us feeling very unwelcome as you can imagine, unfortunately we had to stay...

The room was not particularly clean either, with holey towels and sheets. Old blankets for duvets, that even your grandma would throw out. Only two coffee cups were provided even though it's a room for 3 people, though this was not a major issue for us, so we did not bother to ask for another. We didn't have any breakfast there as we felt we had paid too much money already to stay and be treated that way. My last shower was also arctic, much like our treatment, and I couldn't wait to be out the door.

Unfortunately, in London hotels can afford to be very bad and this one is!

Only in emergency...

I reserved this hotel about 6 months prior to our trip and the only communication was via email. They responded to me right away thru email  so communication is not an issue here. Hotel  is located outside centre and took us about 40-45 minutes travel time from Heathrow airport.The room was small but clean with twin beds. There was no air conditioning .There was a medium size fan for the whole room. Our room was somewhat noise cause it was facing the main street. This Hotel has no lift so you have to carry your own luggages. Our room was located in 3rd floor. The toilet was small with a broken shower door so the water splashed all over the place. The housekeeper will clean / tidy the room every day and will provide us with new set of towels. For breakfast  they served cold cuts, eggs, yogurt, fruits, cereal , coffee and milk . Hotel is about 15 minutes walk to Hammersmith or Shepherd's Bush tube. We used the Hammersmith tube the whole time . Convenience stores and cafe are nearby. Taxi can be requested a night before from the guy on reception for the morning pick-up. Have a safe and wonderful trip.
