Been here a number of times for Sunday Lunches and to celebrate special occasions such as Mothers Day.

Lovely vista to look out on and after a walk there's seats with a view to enjoy a glass of something and chill.

Food lovely, service wonderful and price great.  Keep up the good work will definitely be back.

Amazing 

We stayed here last week as part of a birthday celebration and it was wonderful. A lovely team working there, a warm, welcoming fire in the front bar and the view from the restaurant and the rooms was fabulous.
The food is truly exceptional, and with me being pescatarian, I was spoilt for choice. The swordfish on the first night was excellent, but the sea bass the following night was even better. Be on notice that the portion sizes are quite generous, so much so that those amongst us who ordered the beef stroganoff (gorgeous apparently) struggled to finish.
We were up in the Captains Cove and to wake up to the sunrise and seabirds was blissful. The room was a good size and the bathroom, while a little small, was well kitted out.
The wine in the fridge (along with the mineral waters) was nice and there was plenty of tea, coffee, sugar and milk there so you could have a sip of something while watching the tide coming in. 
Definitely recommended and we plan on returning at some point.

One thing to be aware of is that while the ground floor room is accessible to those with a scooter or wheelchair, there are no handles by the toilet or a raised seat, so maybe come prepared if you have mobility issues.

Just plain wonderful!

We were staying in a holiday cottage in Boulmer first week in December.  We visited twice for supper.  Fantastic friendly welcome, great food and service.  My husband is gluten intolerant but there are options on their menu, and the chef was able to adapt things with no fuss.  The lady who served us was very thorough to ensure what he had ordered was ok and kept checking with the chef.  Overall a fantastic experience to make our week in this beautiful village even more special.  Highly recommended.

Fantastic as always!

Fabulous fish meal (meat options available). Best and most delicious crab claws, followed by swordfish and delicious puddings too. Lovely helpful staff and a nice walk along the beach to aid digestion. Would highly recommend. 

Great service and food in a delightful situation. 

This has to be just about the best located pub / hotel in the country, could not be any closer to the beach. We stayed in the Captain’s Cove which is on the first floor with lovely balcony, we could have sat there all day watching the tides go in and out and the fantastic array of seabirds and waders, but there are great walks in both directions which also had to be explored.
The room was kitted out to a high standard, and the staff couldn’t have been more friendly and accommodating. 
This was our second stay (once in winter, once in summer), and we’d be happy to stay again at any time of the year.

Best beach stay

Great lunch. All home made. Service excellent. Views outstanding. Could not fault it.

We had scampi and fish and chips. Chips homemade. Tartare sauce homemade. Scampi and fish crisp and delicious. 

This is an excellent place to eat with views over the sea. Warm. Cosy. Welcoming. Do visit.

Seaside excellence.

What lovely staff! The scampi and homemade chips were delicious, the view just amazing and the open fire  welcoming. Only advice to give future visitors would be to bring cash for a tip as they could not add it on to the card payment.

Woman behind the bar who I presume was one of the owners, doesn’t know how to smile, very unfriendly and spoke down to us when we had specific dietary requirements like we didn’t know what we were talking about, food came eventually, barely warm fillet steak which was very chewy (might have just been reheated) very pricey for what you get, toilets obviously don’t know how to be cleaned due to the smell of stale urine, give this place a miss as probably won’t be there in a few years once the owners run it into the ground!

What a find!!! The place was so welcoming, staff fantastic!!  A warm fire welcomes you in and great ambience! The only Criticism hot drinks and bar prices eye watering! For five coffee the bill was £24!!!

Four of us arrived without any reservations today at the Fishing Boat Inn. We were given a table in the window overlooking the expanse of Boulmer Beach at low tide. The pub had the wonderful Neck Oil on tap so that was a very good start. Two of us ordered the Pie and Chips while one had a veggie option and the fourth decided to have a starter as a main. No problem at all. The steak and ale pie was very nice  indeed, and it was a proper pie rather than a bowl of stew with a cash 'n' carry lid on top. Our friend's prawn cocktail, chosen as a main, was topped with a substantial sized prawn and delivered to the table with a warning not to eat the shell, as a previous patron had been observed to do. The pie and chips could have been hotter, we agreed between us, but that is the sole criticism. This place has made real the long held view of many that Northumbrian pubs should build a conservatory overlooking the fabulous North Sea, Boulmer is a remote outpost on the wondrous expanse of coast that we have here in north east England. Congratulations to the owners and the staff of this great pub. We'll be back.
