Advertised as a B&B but is simply a tired worn out room with grubby bed coverings. This is a lovely old building needing a major face-lift!  I wore my sandals the entire time in the room as the carpet was worn and dirty looking.  Certainly not worth the money!

Not  a B&B!! No breakfast offered.

Beautiful house with a beautiful view of the sea. 
Plenty of parking.
Room was clean but bathroom needs a thorough scrub.
Decor and furnishings are dated and a musty smell is very noticeable on the stairs.
Never saw any staff all the time we were there.


August break.

Good communication, was happy to facilitate us checking in earlier than normal.  Very friendly and lovely hosts.  We had the top left front room with a sea view which didn't disappoint.  The room had everything we needed and extra touches we didn't expect as standard, such as a fan and small fridge, and great little sofa and chairs.  
Breakfast was superb - top notch, nothing wrong at all, poached eggs were perfect.  We enjoyed sitting in the front window and watched the sun rise up from the sea at 7.30am which was lovely.
Anna and Colin were great too, very warm and friendly.

I can see why this place has the reviews it does, and if I have to travel down to Lowestoft with work again I will stay here.

If I had to make any suggestions at all, it would only be to consider installing a blackout blind behind the curtains to keep the room dark if it suited someone.

Excellent stay, no complaints, highly recommend

Very welcoming and full of original features. Clean and comfortable .Superb breakfast that set us up for the day. Easy parking and lovely Seaview. The owners were friendly and very helpful. They have given the place a lot of thought to its origins to be proud of.

Initially didn't realise whose home it had been!  Sir Benjamin Brittens childhood home.

This historic building has been renovated in keeping with it's heritage. Large rooms, large bath rooms and a hosting team that keep it clean, fresh and makes sure you have an amazing breakfast. True value for money.

Historical BnB right on the beach in a lovely town.

We recently stayed here for a long weekend,(13/09-16/09) and would like to say that we had a very enjoyable experience,  the room was very comfortable, and we had a lovey sea view. The breakfast was as good as we have had at other hotels, if not better, and we would highly recommend you stay here,  We plan to book again soon.  Parking is limited, however there is free car parking from 6pm - 8am in the public car park opposite, so parking is not really an issue.  The owners & staff were very friendly and helpful.

Wonderful Stay

Stayed here for two nights 9th Sept. Whole place is spotlessly clean and room was great with really comfy bed. The breakfast was first class and Colin was extremely helpful and friendly. The location is good with a good walk along the promenade

Lovely Place

We are due to leave here in the morning after a weeks stay in the Mozart Room. Anne & Colin are fantastic hosts, absolutely lovely people. You are made to feel welcome the moment you step through the door. The room we stayed in is amazing. There is so much history to the house.
The breakfast on offer is cooked fresh and all quality food. You can come and go as you please as there is a coded door. 
We would recommend this property to everyone. Shame we can only give it 5 stars.


Fantastic

Ann & Colin are very good hosts.  Britten house has great character and the rooms are very clean, comfortable and have everything you could want.  The breakfast was amazing and huge, really nice.  Would definitely stay here again and it's in a great seafront location, plenty of nice pubs and places to eat within walking distance.  Thank you Ann and Colin.

Great place to stay

What a great find. Needed to stayvin Lowestoft for a few days and Britten House really stood out when searching

Ann and Colin were great hosts, The room was lovely with nice touches. The breakfast was amazing and Colin's demeanour in the dining area was great. Funny guy with a dry sense of humour. Would totally recommend staying here.
