It was cold and windy outside but warm and toasty in the chalet. Public rooms were also nice and warm. Food was adequate and hot, but no mince pies on this Turkey and Tinsel 4 night break. The reception area and clubhouse were beautifully decorated. We enjoyed both the BlueCoat Shows and the visiting acts. 
Such great value for the money paid. £99 each  for 4 nights half board. Warners in Corton and Great Yarmouth close by charge nearly three times as much and they don't even give you a prize for winning a quiz or competition. At Pontins Pakefield you get a drinks voucher.
We will return in the Spring and Summer months for another enjoyable break.


Great Value Break

A relaxed three days, food good, accommodation clean, bed comfortable entertainment excellent, including the bluecoats who excelled themselves.  Really great value for money, we will be going again!! 

An Excellent After-Christmas break

Lovely place, rooms a little dated but clean and bed was comfy, food was nice good choice each night and something for everyone, entertainment was fab great acts and staff are lovely and work very hard, great location with beach a short walk and busses to nearby place.

Lovely place to stay

This is the second year running that I have booked consecutive pre-Christmas breaks at Warner's Gunton/Corton followed by Pontin's Pakefield. Next year it will just be Pakefield.

The chalet was more than adequate and the venue temperatures were fine, even when it was cold outside.

The swimming pool was warm, clean and staffed by two extremely professional and conscientious lifeguards.

The indoor and outdoor Christmas decorations were impressive, representing a good bit of time and effort by the staff.

Excellent food throughout the break in a well managed dining room.

The quality of the in-house Bluecoat shows was surprisingly good - much better than the visiting professional acts. 

The bar staff were friendly and hard-working. And the maintenance staff were also doing a good job on site.

The holiday prices have gone up a little, but are still okay.

The games room would benefit from being a bit tidier with the equipment back out for after hours use, like it used to be. Other than that, fantastic!


A more enjoyable break than Warners!

Great entertainment during my visit that I just come back from which I couldn't fault

Food was very nice and hot

Stayed at a club apartment with was very clean and tidy which had a good shower with space to sit down for the ones like me with mobility issues

Only thing I would fault is not having automatic doors as its  really hard for people like me with partners  in wheelchairs as there is alot of doors especially in restaurant building unless you go up a steep slope while keeping doors open at the same time so please introduce either automatic doors or two way doors

Overall very good

We've just come back from the 80's weekender and we did enjoy our weekend, maybe a little too much on Friday night equalling a short Saturday night.
We booked 2 club rooms with a double bed and a single bed expecting to be allowed to use both beds and have the beds available for usage. 
We checked in quickly and went to our rooms that had a locked adjoining door between the two rooms. 1 apartment had the single bed made up and 1 did not. 1 of our party went to reception to ask for bedding for the single bed. He was told he had to pay £15. He said the second room in our party was made up so why did he have to pay extra? I went along to reception to try to solve the issues. 
I explained we were not sharing the beds and wanted to use the single bed as well. They said the room was under occupied so we had to pay extra to use the second bed. It was in the T&C's but I think this needs to be clearer when booking rather than burying it in 1000's of words! They said they cannot assume that people are not couples. I don't think they should assume anything. 
During my conversation with the team at reception I asked how come my room was made up then? A rather abrupt and rude response from another member of staff was made saying 'that's being striped now.' Bit spiteful I feel and very rudely said. I enquired about how they had permission to enter my room now I'd occupied it. They said they have the right to enter if it is necessary. Removing bed sheets to spite and make money off a customer does not seem necessary! Maybe I'm wrong!
So this annoyed me and in fact within 10 minutes the speedy bed strippers had invaded my room and striped the bed. I was annoyed and went away to consider my options, considering buying my own bedding but I was worried they would lock the room and cause me issues throughout the weekend so decided to go back and pay for the bedding. 
On return I paid the money and enquired about whether they locked the room and they said they did. But most people use the room for luggage storage. But through a locked door. Interesting! 

If the abrupt and rude lady hadn't spoken to me the way she did and had given us a chance to make a decision the speedy bed strippers wouldn't have had to remake the bed they'd just stripped. This seems so spiteful to do this and a way of making money off customers. 
I wouldn't have minded paying if it had been made obvious when booking. We paid £99 each for 3 nights so it wouldn't have been a major issue if it was made clearer! Why hide these little charges? Just make it obvious and make it an option at booking to make it easier for customers. More importantly don't assume 2 same gender people are willing to share a bed! 

So, the food was edible but not my bag and quite limited. I managed to eat every time but for the amount of money you pay you can't complain. There is a bar at the canteen but it wasn't open so we had to get a drink from the main bar and take it over. 

Bingo was a long hour of being told to be quiet. We kept getting the giggles from the constant 'shh shh shh' over the mic but once that was over the entertainment was very good. The bluecoats did a great show and the visiting acts were great. 

Unfortunately we couldn't stay for the final night so can't comment on check out morning. Breakfast would be appreciated if it was a bit later especially after a heavy night in the showbar! We did have a good time even though the start was marred by the bed stripping incident. We would like to come back, it is good value for money but we'll be more prepared to pay the extra for the second bed and it won't be such a surprise and an issue. I think these charges need to be clearer, it's unfair to have hidden charges. 

My biggest advice is don't expect too much. It's cheap and cheerful. It looks tired but was clean in our rooms. Other than the reception issue all other staff we interacted with were kind and helpful. 

80's weekender

Accommodation and food was good , the entertainment was amazing especially The Barry White Legacy and the Other nights entertainment were very good too . The cost of 69.00 for four nights is so good I don’t know how they do it! The Pool and Sauna both clean and warm. My friends and I will certainly be returning . Also I would like to praise Bee on reception for her help and cooperation as well as the blue coats who all do a great job, some funny games in the day as well as Bingo .

Soul and Motown break

went to pontins for new year 2022 and turkey and tinsel in december
really good time
accolmadation all alright warm all time
but no heating in hall in mornings!,and none in games room
entertainment good with groups singers and bluecoats show as well
food good and basic but what would one expect at this price!but plenty of it and as much as one could eat
they the cooks in there!
pity too much bingo ,but i know where its at before i go
been using this pontins since 1975 so cant be that bad
all stafe seem happy with their lot

despite all the do bad publicity and people trying to trash pontins pakefield revues.if you spent your money this year it was money well spent.from the reception ,thru to the comfortable clean warm apartments were else can you get full board for £268 for four nights.second to none entertainment ,friendly staff and what really made it was the old and the mature and the less mature .a good mix .the set menus were good and pleniful .the christmas dinner nice and hot and the friendly staff made chistmas.2022 i dont know why but 6 weeks ago it was different but now its the best the pace has ever been ,you will get moans and groans and repairs but what you pay is excellent value entertainment the right mix not easy to entertain  550 people in place on a wet day able bodied not so or on your scooter or zima frame all was made welcome .this is the second year christmas and the best last time was a family christmas with mum and dad lagered up the kids running riot i wanted to leave by christmas daybecause of the swearingbut this year was a spectacular 2022 christmas
