Not very good. 3m x 2m room we had. Badly organised. It's basically student accommodation we are told. More of a community centre than accommodation. Clean. Close to town. Quiet. Had to parking 15min walk away.  Hotel car park was full.£90/night.

Student accommodation

For a 1 night stay OK! unfortunately we were there for 3 nights. The twin room was adequate but small with no room for a table to work on or a comfortable chair. Poor hanging space. Thankfully I had taken extra coat hangers with us. There is a kettle but no hairdryer. Iron can be borrowed. Our biggest gripe is the shower with an opening of only 36 cms not suitable for anyone over a size 16 !!! and a step height of 30cms.  Due to my mobility I was not able to use it. Yes!! I could have booked the disabled room but I prefer to leave that available for wheel chair users when a room with a shower will suffice.
This accommodation is a hostel not a hotel.
There is a kitchen with crockery and cutlery, and can be used freely.

Hostel  not hotel

This is my third time staying at the Mascall Centre. It is a cheap and cheerful option, compared to other accommodation providers in Ludlow. I always feel comfortable and safe in this environment, as it is very well run and maintained. I like the added bonus of free water from the dispenser at the top of the stairs. I was staying in the adequately appointed single room.

Location is just a 10 minute walk from the train station and less to walk to the town. The building is set back from the road, so is quiet, especially at night. Plenty of on-site parking is available too.
Since my last visit, they have installed a fully functioning kitchen / dining / TV room, where a lounge area used to be. This really is an added bonus and I made use of it during my stay.

I was able to leave my bag with them after check 
out, so I could go next door for a big, tasty, full English breakfast (Athena restaurant) and have a final wander round the town and the open air makers market.

Disliked · I feel the hand and bath towels could do with being replaced with better quality ones.

ALWAYS EXCELLENT VALUE FOR MONEY

The Mascall Centre is centrally located, just 15 minutes walk from the Castle. There’s plenty off-road parking for guests. The bedrooms are accessible, the first floor ones being reached by a lift. Everything was basic but clean. The shower worked well and the water was plenty hot enough. The beds were comfy. There is no breakfast on offer at the moment although there’s a Greek taverna in the same building which offers breakfasts some days (not Sunday though). There’s also a kitchen guests can use on the ground floor of the centre. I would definitely stay again.

Clean, comfy and convenient.

I had a lovely welcome. I had everything explained to me. There was a kitchenette for everyone to use. There's a lift to the bedrooms and a code to get through to them, which made me feel secure. The room, although small, was perfect with two single bed and a good shower. Towels and sachet toiletries provided. There was also a ood hospitality tray. But no television(I knew that) also no hair dryer(I didn't). All in all a very nice place to stay. I'll definitely be back, with a hairdryer !

Good overnight stay

Really lovely building, staff are friendly and the rooms are clean and beds comfy. Great place to stay on a budget and use as a base to explore beautiful Ludlow.
Would thoroughly recommend to others and will be staying here again!

A little gem!

A clean functional overnight stay within 5 minutes walking distance of Ludlow town centre. Parking is available by request, but before you leave your car for more than 15 minutes, you must log your car into the Mascall system, to avoid a fine.
For first time users, not easy to find. The Ludlow Mascall Centre, is abbreviated to LMC, but its stylisation makes it look like IMC. The reception to the LMC is on the right of the building, through a fence grey painted fence gate, a little obscure. Book by phone and find out what time to arrive to collect the key. The reception is not manned 24/7. If the reception is not open, there is no access to your key. The LMC is next to the Police Station. Although Ludlow is a beautiful area, the accommodation is in the town, the views are mainly roof tops.
The rooms are small, but adequate (9'x12'), plus an ensuite shower, sink and WC. Clothes hanging space for 4 garments, 8 with you own hangers. Two single 2'6" single beds. The rooms are very clean. Ideal for a couple of nights!

Good Value Accommodation

Location is perfect, being less than 10 minutes walk to the train station and less than 5 minutes walk to the town centre. Although situated on a residential / main road, my stay was suprisingly quiet.

My single room (named Perry / disability accessible room) was spacious and clean. It was basic and comfortable, excellent value for money and exceeded my expectations - I had only paid £33.50 per night, which is super cheap for Ludlow.
In the room was hot drink making facilities, inc complimentary tea and coffee, free toiletries, bedside table, with lamp, large (adjustable) radiators in bedroom and bathroom, adequate amount of plug sockets, night light in bathroom.

In the communal area there was access to a fridge, first aid box, spare towels, toilet paper, masks, hairdryer, paper cups, plastic cutlery, tea and coffee, etc, and free water (via large water bottle stations located upstairs and downstairs).

Security was excellent and I felt safe throughout my stay. You also have access to an onsite / live in caretaker, should any problems arise. There is an outdoor seating area within an inner, private courtyard.
I would most definitely stay here again and I highly recommend it to budget conscious travellers - you will not be disappointed.

Bill's Kitchen is housed within the same building for breakfast / brunch / lunch. It is open between 8 - 3 pm. I didn't have chance to eat here, so cannot comment further, except to say the menu looked varied / reasonably priced (for locally sourced ingredients).

This is not a hotel, but a community centre offering accommodation. Therefore, there was not a TV in my room. However, there is a large, wall mounted TV in the communal area.

EXCELLENT VALUE FOR MONEY / CENTRAL LOCATION

Decent twin room with en suite shower. Clean and functional. Secure bicycle storage (remember to duck). Explored Ludlow town, just a stroll up the road. Sensible price, breakfast not included, but we ate at Bill's kitchen, within the same building.

Great location, great place

We picked the Centre for its car-parking and nearness to the town centre.
W e  found it great, but it will not suit everyone.
The rooms are dinky with single beds, but with telly and teamaking equipment.
Shower rooms are not for swinging a cat either.
But for a couple of nights they were fine, and certainly warm on a VERY cold weekend.
You can take breakfast downstairs in the Pea Green Cafe ... but NOT Sunday and Monday, which can be a pain.
There is also a lounge downstairs with a big telly, but we never saw anyone in there.
For basic, warm. comfortable accomodation you can't go wrong.
