AVOID AT ALL COSTS !!!
Once they have your money they couldn't care less !! When we arrived we were asked if we wanted an evening meal,which we agreed to..10 mins before agreed booking was told no chef!! But snacks could be purchased behind the bar..we ended up forced to order a takeaway. No apology from management nothing!! Second day in we only received half the full English we had been given the 1st morning as the "order" hadn't been recieved.Drinks VERY expensive.It was like being in a remake of Fawlty Towers. Please,please please if you are thinking of booking into this establishment,think again !!!

My husband and I recently attended a wedding at this venue and unfortunately booked a room. Let's start with check-in, when we arrived the man at the desk was on the phone, which is fine, but three other staff including Jane, looked at us and didn't even greet us. When the man got off the phone, he didn't apologize nor thank us for waiting. 

This should have been a big clue as to how the rest of the visit would play out. We got to the room and the towels were dirty, the room had cobwebs and was caked in dust. As in the picture attached one of the windows was cracked with a small hole. The kettle had water in it and was coved in dust, so not sure when it was last cleaned. 

As we attended the wedding the venue was just as filthy as our room. The light fixtures throughout the venue were covered in cobwebs including the room where the ceremony happened! As we walked the grounds we noticed old limes from drink dumped in the flower planters accompanied by cigratte butts. The house itself is in need of major cosmetic repairs, it's beautiful from afar but upon inspection many windows were broken, paint was peeling, and wood rotting. The netting in the marquee, where the reception was held, looked like it wasn't cleaned at all this year. There were plenty of dead bugs resting over our heads as we ate. 

The next morning we went to the breakfast where we learned other guest weren't as fortunate as us. Some of the rooms did not have functioning power outlets, bathrooms had mould and damp, and heat the didn't work. The food at breakfast was sub par for the price of the room. 

The wedding couple were beautiful and shone bright despite the  dilapidated surroundings.

The positives: 
 The food at the wedding was great . There was a  male bar staff who had tattoos and piercings, he was the only staff that did an outstanding job. He was kind and very customer service focused. Kudos to him for being the one redeemable staff during our visit.



Filthy and run down

My wife and I recently stayed 2 nights as a base for a visit to north Norfolk. Hotel is excellently situated and is good value although we did use a Groupon for just £119 for 2 nights B&B. We had an excellent room (27), very comfortable and quiet. 
We ate in the restaurant first night both having quality fish and chips! The hotel was in good condition and well furnished albeit with very few guests. Staff were very friendly and obliging. We would consider staying there again should we visit the area in the future.

Good value and comfortable country hotel

The best part of this hotel are the grounds !!!
The whole place needs a major revamp. The wedding marquee looks very used. Standing outside there are broken and dirty windows to be seen. As for the guest rooms they are dated and not very clean. The bed felt damp.
Drinks are very expensive and food was nothing to write home about.
It needs a tremendous amount of work to bring it up to scratch.

Stayed here two nights as part of a wedding party. Good food for dinner the first night and good food at wedding breakfast. Also full english breakfasts were good. Great location for a tipi wedding which we all enjoyed. Staff were helpful and pleasant and put a lot of work into the wedding day. The place does need lots of R&M.
