Lynton

First stay at Longmead House and it will not be the last. Beautiful house and a great location to visit the Valley of the Rocks, Lynton, Woody Bay, Exmoor... and the South West Coastal path. We were upgraded to their Premier Deluxe King size room. What a room, large, decorated and furnished to a high standard. Very comfortable bed with high quality bed linen. Lovely home made lemon drizzle cake in the room.Bottles of fresh milk in a fridge just outside the room. Variety of cooked breakfast options options. They catered for my wife's gluten free requirements. High quality home made granola on offer. We took advantage of their evening platters options- Meat, and Fish - both very good. Extremely good value drinks available to accompany evening meal or just relaxing in their residents lounge. The hosts Nick and Melanie were lovely, and fantastic. There is on site parking. We have found a new place to stay when visiting the area. Highly recommend Longmead House.

Fantastic B&B - Luxury and Wonderful Hosts / Excellent Value for the Overall Stay Experience

We were given the map of Cornwall, very useful. We enjoyed the breakfast, it varies and as we expected it we will return!

Okay, longmead.

A very comfortable stay in a beautiful  location. The room was large and attractive, with nice touches, such as slices of delicious  home-made cake and carafes of water. The hosts are warm and  hospitable and the breakfast was delicious, with plenty of choice. There's on-site parking too. We hope to return.

This is the best B & B we’ve stayed at in many years England or Ireland.
Beautiful house
Free parking lots of spaces.
Great gardens with plenty of seating.
Bedroom kitted put with everything you could want and lots more. Bath was great as don’t have one at home now. Lots of fluffy towels, lotions etc.
Comfortable bed.
Tea coffee even homemade cake in room.
Fridge outside with milk water .
Couldn’t fault it even if one even tried..
Short walk to the restaurants and Lynmouth  beach and the vernacular railway a must do in itself.
I must the mention the lovely lounge with Honesty bar.
Thank you guys you do a wonderful job.


Away to meet up a friend for one night 

Very comfortable 2 nights' stay at this B&B.  The breakfast was amazing.  In addition, the cake provided in the room was delicious.  The B&B is ideally placed for the South West Coast Path.  There is a very comfortable lounge in the B&B with a fridge containing beers, soft drinks and wine.  As the local small supermarket shut early, we purchased wine and beer to drink in our room and I was pleased that the host charged very reasonable prices for providing these.  The host was also able to provide us with information regarding taxis and parking permits.  Would recommend.

Beautiful house in the perfect location for visiting the Valley of the Rocks (short walk) and the local area..
We stayed in room 1 which was lovely. The bed was amazing giving us the best nights sleep!
Cake was a welcome surprise after walking 9 miles up-to Watersmeet, exploring Lynmouth and Valley of the Rocks. The breakfast was top class! Pre ordering breakfast the night before and choosing a time slot ensured a well oiled service…
In short a perfect stay! Would definitely return if back in this area.

Perfect stay

The three stars are one for breakfast quality which was great, the second star is for location being very close to nice coastal walks and the third star is for the welcome cake in the room which was delicious.  However, after staying in over a hundred B&B’s across the UK and abroad overall this one is average as sleep quality, room cleanliness and broken toilet seat (which annoyingly the owners new about but hadn’t made a good enough effort to resolve!). The room had many areas of mould on window area and bathroom,  The window.had broken glass and was not able to fully shut and rattled too much in the night to allow for a good nights sleep.  The door to the room was also loose which again rattled during the night until some paper was trapped into it to alleviate this.  Overall the lack of a good nights sleep and the problems with the cleanliness of the room made this an average experience which with the price paid, which was tainted by others booking for the time we had being offered a free platter and discount on room costs which as we had booked nearly a year ago was not offered to us too, being too high for this experience.  Not convinced too by the lack of after care shown to my wife who got burnt on using a coffee cafeteria at breakfast that was overfilled by the owners that the owners are more interested in bottom line profit over customer satisfaction.  I cannot therefore recommend a stay at this B&B unless things we found wrong are rectified.

Bean to many B&B’s this one is average

Spent 4 nights here for our first visit to the area.   It's a good location for seeing Lynton and Lynmouth and for walks, weather permitting!  We pre ordered a ploughman's buffet for our first evening which was superb as were the breakfasts.   The room was big enough ...and here comes the buts....needs some tlc.  Cracked pane  in one of the windows, all frames were filthy, toilet needs replacing due to its unfixable loose seat (not good if like me you have something wrong with your spine) and please please supply more coffee sachets and biscuits!   Lastly beware the coffee cafetieres at breakfast, mine came to me overfilled and when plunger was gently pressed very hot coffee went all over causing a bad burn to my wrist, coffee all over my, new, top and a ruined fruit salad.  I was a bit upset by the seeming lack of concern by mine hosts.  
Having said all that the bed was very  comfy and the fresh milk for the room was a bonus.  

Good location

Had a lovely few days here.
Breakfast good and like the fact you choose night before, helps reduce waste.
Room lovely and clean and towels and sheets pristine!
Our mattress was rather firm, room 6, suited us, but May not be to everyone’s comfort.
Nice to be able to park easily- always a bonus in these places 
Easy to reach local shops , pubs etc.

3rd visit to this establishment, so must be good. However, this was a last minute booking and subsequently we ended up in the attic room, it was very cramped, not much room, ok for a few days though. Breakfast was excellent, good selection, however, having to choose what you want the night before is a bit unusual. If you eat out, we recommend the Oak Room, great tapas.
