We were a party of two adults in one room and one adult with two grandchildren aged 13 and 9  in family room.  Checked in at 6pm and following a very long day needed a shower before going out to have an evening meal.  No running hot water in family room so they shared our shower but by the fourth shower our hot water was running cold. Great inconvenience but we managed.  However,  the following morning NO hot water at all in our double room from any of the taps despite running the shower continuously on 50 degrees centigrade for 15 minutes.  Could not share the family room facilities as our breakfast slot was looming and transpired they had no hot water either!!  So I had no alternative but to wash  my hair in cold water and my husband and I had no shower at all. Just had a quick wash in cold water.  I was very cross and mentioned it to the breakfast staff who simply said , with a blank indifference that they, “didn’t know why that was”!  and in our opinion, didn’t really seem surprised, as if it was a regular occurrence. No apology.  No offer of compensation.  Will not be recommending.  Will not be staying there again.

Extremely dissatisfied with basic needs

Wonderful nights stay in what can only be described as a huge huge room. Family visit with our dog to see family and friends. Chloe on reception was very very friendly, looked after us and was there in the morning to sort us out at breakfast. Looks an amazing property in large gardens but not able to see much with early darkness and having to leave early morning. Highly recommend

Visit back to the old stomping ground from Cornwall.

What a wonderful place! Chloe really looked after us and even upgraded us due to the fact there was availability. Little issue with the bath but the room was so beautiful we didn’t mind. So friendly! Breakfast was amazing too. Definitely will be returning

Hidden Gem

We attended a wedding here in July, the couple had booked out the venue for the whole weekend for us to enjoy.  The wedding itself was amazing - apart from the Friday night they called last orders at 10:30 was meant to be 11? After a fuss they admitted they was wrong but they wanted to go because they had a festival to attend the next day -

but what to come afterwards is the shock - the couple telling us they’re missing over 30+ cards from guests! And that the venue had emptied the locked post box into an open cardboard box in a different room, that was open for anyone to enter-  baring in mind the couple wasn’t presence or given the key, upon trying to sort it the couple has had no help? With the post box supplier telling them that somerford hall was told to give them the key, and that somerford hall told him they had cctv, especially where the post box was located, 

The couple hasn’t had no apology and the lady even admitted to emptying it.. now I worked in a hotel the right thing to do was to lock the post box in a locked room or safe until the couple was present to empty it.  Not take it upon themselves - they did this at 7:30am when everyone was sleeping. Because they thought the wedding supplier would want it back but he wasn’t present to take it himself either.

I wouldn’t hold a wedding here if I was you. If you do make sure the post box is locked, and you have the key.

Attended a wedding…

Disgusting service from the staff at this venue. We attended a wedding in July, where guests were encouraged to leave gifts in a postbox. A member of staff stole the contents of this postbox with various money inside, and other staff are unwilling to help the newlyweds. Advised there’s no CCTV, and are not answering emails. They have said it’s not their responsibility. They emptied the contents into a cardboard box, when that should never have happened in the first place. The married couple should have emptied the contents themselves. Why the staff ever touched it is a mystery. To steal it is despicable. And the lack of help they’ve provided to date is just horrendous. They have completely ruined what should have been a wonderful day.

Thieving Staff, Horrible Service

Rooms are amazing we stayed in the main building clean spacious and a bit of luxury, the surrounding are great for photo's kids having a run about. 
Now the show stopper the food, canopeos hot fresh tasty plenty of them main meal I have never had a nicer wedding meal served piping hot fresh and oh boy tasty.. starters were lush main meal the cauliflower cheese wow then dessert so nice. Evening food was chip shop style help yourself  served in boxes so nice. For those staying over late supper which hit the spot as was too full from the meal to eat the chip shop so the bacon baps etc. Were a lovely touch ... next day breakfast was lovely 
The front of house staff are mainly young but so professional with added friendliness a credit to the establishment, truly a credit.
All I can say if you book this venue you will not go wrong and if I could think of a negative I would put it in here but I cannot

Wedding Venue

After many cancelled dates due to Covid we managed to tie the knot on 24.09.2021.

From start to finish Somerford Hall were amazing. Megan was a pleasure to work along side to create our perfect day and Amy made sure the day run like clockwork!

Nothing was too much trouble, all the staff were very accommodating and we couldn’t have asked for more.

For anyone looking to potentially book here, please go and see the venue, your mind will be made up! 

Couldn’t have asked for a better day! We just want to do it all over again!

Fantastic hotel really helpful staff could not do enough for us and our puppy special mention to chloe and her mum for the fantastic welcome we  will be back 10 out of 10 astro says thanks for the sausage to lol

Hidden gem

When finding the perfect wedding location it has to be perfect for you as a couple.  We wanted something that felt homely and suited us, but also wanted something a bit special for our Wedding.

We viewed several places ranging from Barns, Country Houses, Stately Homes and then Somerford Hall.  My wife and I instantly fell in love with the place as soon as we drove over the picturesque bridge and saw the Hall stood there in all it’s glory!!

From the moment we signed on the dotted line to loading our cars up to come home after our wedding the following day, it has been a delight.

The ladies on hand are exceptional at what they do and they especially shone on the day of our wedding, keeping a calm aura but helping us efficiently when needed.  

A special mention of Megan and Abbey who looked after us all the way through, we couldn’t have done it without you!!

All of our guests stated how “lovely the venue was” and that the staff on hand were polite and courteous which is a pleasure to hear.

We can’t thank Somerford enough for guiding us through one of the most important days of our life and being there to help every step of the way, if you’re looking for a venue that won’t break the bank and a team that will look after you from start to finish..

The best of the best!

First impressions of this venue are created when driving through the lovely parkland, before Somerford Hall actually comes into sight, a very elegant building, set in immaculately kept gardens and grounds, a very romantic setting for a wedding.
We were welcomed into the Hall by professional, friendly staff who, under the leadership of Phillipa, continued a remarkable standard of service throughout the event.
Several ante rooms, including the library, were used for guests to mingle whilst drinks and very delicious canapés were served, these rooms are simply but tastefully decorated and provided somewhere for guests to relax in the evening away from main entertainment.
The ballroom was decorated beautifully for the wedding reception, the meal service was overseen by Phillipa who led a team of well experienced staff. Three courses of exceptional food, well presented, tasting delicious and served hot - not an easy task but perfectly executed.
The evening function was equally as good, with staff being so helpful in anyway possible, food again was excellent, catering for vegetarians and vegans was not a problem.
Somerford Hall is one of the best wedding venues I have had the pleasure of attending, well done and thank you to Phillipa and all the team.
