Only stayed overnight. It is pretty run down. The staff were friendly enough but the place needs a really good clean and some maintenance. I can not recommend I’m afraid which is a shame as it’s location is ok.

Tired and run down 

We arrived, having walked ten miles or so at just before 3pm on Tuesday 12th Novemeber. The door to reception at the back of the hotel was locked, but a sign said if no one on reception ring the bell. We did that and no one came. There was a number which my husband phoned. No one answered and it went to voicemail. Unfortunatley the mail box was full so he couldn't leave a message. While he continued to phone I tried the door bell, banged on the door and the windows and tried the door to the left in this picture that said restaurant. That was locked too. We walked to the front of the building, but it appeared that you could not reach either of the doors there as a low wall dividing the building from the road had collapsed inwards and the whole area was overgrown with weeds. 
I cannot comment on the standard of the accomodation though from the collapsed wall, the rotting door proped up on the patio and the upended table  I could observe from looking in the door it doesn't appear great, neither can I comment on any food we may have had if we'd been able to gain access. I can comment on their customer service, which is very poor, as they claimed we must have gone to the wrong place when we informed booking,com what had happened, and then when we proved we had been there, that we didn't go in via the bar.
All in all I think we had a very lucky escape.

The mystery at the Harrow Inn

Absolutely filthy dirty everywhere. Entire place stunk of sewage and damp. Mouse traps in bedroom. Woodlice crawling over carpets in room. Food was cheap and nasty and had to send food back twice as it was frozen. They genuinely served us frozen garlic bread. We have washed everything including our bags when we got home. Entire place made my skin crawl.

Avoid at all costs!

My children and I stayed here for one night. It was basic but just what we needed. Folk were friendly, especially the waiter. Food was good and reasonably priced. Lovely and quiet off a country road. The shower was good. Shame about the wall out front that looked like someone had crashed into it. The place looks in need of some repair but we still enjoyed our stay.

Good place for a stopover

Really nice Inn.

Great for parking. I had room for my van
Lovely village of Lenham nearby with nice pubs and places to eat.
Rooms clean and spacious.
The bar area is nice with a decent menu.
Drinks a bit pricey though

Last minute 

I spend 2-3 nights a week in hotels and can honestly say this is by far the filthiest establishment I have ever encountered. Old and worn is one thing, but there is no excuse whatsoever for what greeted me. I'm not talking about a bit missed from the last guest but months if not years of deep ingrained filth. The first room they put me in the bedspread was covered in grime and blood spots like someone's diseased animal had been sleeping on it. The bath had obviously not been cleaned in months. They moved me to a 'cleaner' room and although just barely tolerable it had just had the highlights cleaned and every corner was disgusting. The TV remote was so filthy I didn't even watch TV. 
Every Fire door I came across in the building was wedged open permanently. 
I emailed the manager but didn't even get a reply.

They misspelled Harrowing

I'm nor sure whether it was the late booking or the time of year, my arrival at 10.30pm  or the bad weather, but the accommodation was awful.  A choice of 3 beds it seemed in this large room, but only only made up, the king size.  Pity the sheet on the bottom was not king size and could not be tucked in.  The duvet was a thin single and so I kept the bedspread on.  During the night I found I was sleeping on what I thought was tissue paper, it turned out to be the bedspread shedding its inside layer.  The kettle was as though it had been used to store white fur and took some cleaning.  The dressing table as you can see was a bit stained
The breakfast was excellent and the glass of red  I had at the bar before taking my bags up to my room was very nice indeed

Sadly this place is let down by the rude owner 
Was perfectly quite just what we were looking for untill breakfast being turned away at 8.55 only asking for a piece of toast when we were advised as long as you come down before 9am, it's not 5* cleaning or bedding but rooms big but just such a shame they are rude and now after reading numerous poor reviews I can now see why

Never again

From the outside the Harrow looks a little run down but our room was fine - comfortable large bed and simple but adequate bathroom. Anton on reception was welcoming and Colin on breakfast and dinner was friendly and efficient dealing with a full dining room at breakfast without problems. Choice of food in morning was limited - would have liked yogurt or fruit not just cereals but the full English was good. Our evening meal was served promptly and was fine with perfectly good Chilean wines by the glass.

Quiet location, large comfortable room and good value food.

This 17th-century inn is located in a very quiet environment with even a wood to walk through. The staff is unparalleledly kind. I booked by chance and in extremis after spending 4 1/2 blocked on the A26, 39 km before Coquelles. Besides, we were blocked in the Eurotunnel for 5 hours, without even giving us a reason. Which is why I couldn't get to this inn until midnight and a half GMT. And the gentleman I was able to contact by email very kindly reassured me and waited until the reception at 11:00.
