Great location, great for a night out, shower was good, room was clean. Curtains need to be blackout if want that elusive 5 star review! 
Pub was noisy downstairs however if your going out then it is no problem! Really quiet in the night and the morning 👌

Does what it says on the tin!

What can i say?. First when we arrived we couldn't find the entrance so we had yo walk through the pub, and what can i say it was 4pm and the pub was full of drunk men. We then asked the at the pub if we could check in and she said the hotel isnt apart of the pub you need to ring the number on the website. We called the number and waited about 15 mins. After we waited a man turned up and when under the stairs to find our booking. When we got to the room after the 3 flights of stairs. The room was very small and basic it smelt of urine and smoke. There were stains all over the bed covers which was vile. The heating was on full blast but the button wasnt working so we couldnt turn it off. We kept the window open all nigh even due to the noise . There were holes in the wall. And mold all up the window.Im sorry we wont be staying here again

If I could mark lower I would. The pub staff who work below the “rooms” are rude and damn right disrespectful. The room cost £60 per night so I’d expect basic standards which we didn’t get. The room had mould and smelt stale. The heating didn’t work, in fact the dial was broke! No “reception” to report issues. The pubs main light wasn’t turned off until 2.40am, it made it impossible to sleep as our room was lit up. The bedding didn’t smell clean. The TV had no remote so you could only manually go up for channels, they seemed to have more adult channels than normal channels. When you “checked in” you were taken to a cupboard under the stairs where you had to stand with drunk punters. I’ve never felt so uncomfortable. It resulted in me and my friend getting picked up at 3.30am in the morning to travel home!!

Ok so the good 

Location is excellent
Clean room

There was nothing major to complain about, however, there is no WiFi although advertised. The staff in the pub below are rude, and treat you like an alien. There is no remote, and the tv doesn't work when the pub is closed. The street lights shine in the window so light sleepers beware. 

There is a stench from the men's toilet as you enter and leave. 



Great location .... very basic 

Writing a review which I don't normally do as I think a lot of the ones on here are somewhat unfair, the room cost us £37 and all we needed it for was a bed to crash in after a gig, sure its not the nicest Hotel in the world but for what we needed it for and the money we paid, it was pretty solid

Solid for the money

This hotel is in a fantastic location. 
Walking distance for so many of Manchester’s treasures. The bed was clean and comfortable but unfortunately the positives end there. 
I’m all for managing my expectations in regards to cost but I’d strongly advise people to book sooner ensuring you get a room in a similar location for a similar price.
The room itself was dirty which there is no excuse or reason for. It’s extremely noisy as many of other reviews inform, it is above a pub. 
The radiators were off so for an October stay it was very cold, especially when you have just got out of a luke warm intermittent shower, well dribble would be a better description. I’m not one to moan or be negative but on this occasion I do feel it’s deserved. 

Fantastic location

Came here for one night on the 2nd October. Tried not to be put off by the state or the bar or that the woman we checked in with was in a cupboard under the stairs. We went up to the top floor and were met by a horrible room. Mold in bathroom, holes in doors, what looked like blood on the curtains and a private area hairs in the beds. Went to complain and tell the lady we wouldn’t be staying and haven’t had a refund as apparently the room was clean enough! 

Disgusting 

I booked this 'Hotel' at short notice due to an unexpected meeting with a friend. When I arrived I called the number stated to check in. I was told to wait outside the pub and someone will come down for me. 15 minutes passed and no one came. I rang again to be told I needed to go inside the pub and wait. When I walked in I had to make my way through drunk people falling over. The corridors stunk of urine. Eventually a lovely young woman came to me (even though she was calling me a completely different name) she explained the process of checking in and out and then showed me to my room (108). She opened the door and explained she needed to bring me some towels (which never arrived) then disappeared never to be seen again. The room was discusting, there was paper hanging off the walls, Big dirty handprints up the walls, a mirror hanging off the wall, single glazed windows and absolutely no heating what's so ever. It was freezing! The duvet might as well of been a sheet it was that thin, the curtains didn't even fit the window and the shower cubicle and main bathroom door were full of mould. The TV seemed to only have adult channels and the remote didn't work. As no one is around to complain I bared with it and tried to get some sleep. The next morning I woke up expecting to get a shower (using my own towel). I switched it on and the steam off it made the fire alarm go off so I didn't end up getting a shower. Overall I wouldn't recommend this place there are better places nearby.

Discusting

The hotel is situated near to Piccadilly Gardens, about 10 minutes walk from the station.
The other goods news is that there is a kettle and a small supply of tea, coffee and milk,also the bed was reasonable.
I stayed room only, as there are many bars and cafe's nearby; and I didnt spend long in the room, for the reasons given below.

The downside,which the owner admits, is the noise from the partying going on below - often until turned 1am, and rowdyness outside; is pretty bad. Nearly as useless is the wifi .....I gave up in the end. Its perhaps the worst I've come across is all the destinations home and abroad that I've been to.
If you're stuck here on a wet day,bring your own entertainment.  There are similar places nearby, where the noise and wifi are much better, I'll try there in future
The TV also doesn't work, so unless you have you're own wifi,or DVD player,this place is too basic in 2019

Central Position is Only Plus

When I hear people on trip advisor moan and groan makes me laugh. You pay £60 a night and I personally dont expect 5 star. If your looking for a expensive place that has no faults by all means look elsewhere. If your here to stay a night and see a show etc its perfect. 2 mins away from arndale centre. 5 mins from the arena. Cosy room yes not perfect but does the job just nicely. Enjoyed the stay, pub was lovely and in general a really decent place to stay in the heart of Manchester
