I really don't understand how places like Rosario still in business and why there are positive reviews. The place is simply awful - as you enter, you get into a cold old house which strikes you with a bad smell of age. The "superior" double room (#3) is old and tired, with old furniture, marks on the walls, cheap linen and fragile windows. The bathroom is even worse - the shower is so tiny so it doesn't fit someone who is heavier than 60kg. When I entered the room, the property manager surprised me that the heating is broken - obviously nobody warned me in advance. It was extremely unpleasant news - it was end of March in Marazion, cold, windy and raining. It was Easter break and there was nothing else available nearby so l was stuck there that night and barely slept - it was extremely freezing and windows were shaking the whole night from the strong winds. The security of this place is also very questionable - the room key opens the front door from the building which means you can open any guest room. I checked out the next morning (though originally booked 3 nights) and the manager refused to make any discount, rather arrogantly saying that he can't do anything about the heating as it was a Bank holiday and "it's not so cold outside". I paid GBP143 for this miserable stay and felt completely ripped off. Luckily there was a room available for the next 2 nights in a very nice hotel nearby - I paid exactly the same money per night there.
The place has a bad reputation in the area - reception managers in two nearby hotels immediately understood why I want to change a hotel once I mentioned that I stayed in Rosario.
Just don't stay here - it's a terrible place, complete rip off and there are much better options nearby.

Awful stay - avoid and stay somewhere else

Rosario is in a great position, yards from the sea and in the centre of Marazion. It’s super convenient for visiting St Michael’s Mount, and the breakfast is good, and the people friendly. There is a nice little courtyard cafe. 
However…

The front door was partially blocked by laundry bags for most of our stay, the front room is a junk room full of washing and unwanted items of furniture. The banisters are thick with dirt. The double room (room 2) is very small and the sea view is minimal - you can mostly see roofs. 
In reviews from months ago, it has been mentioned that the mattress in that room has collapsed, and, yes, it still is. We asked for a replacement or to move rooms. The owner feigned surprise & said he would turn the mattress. He didn’t. We had three nights on this mattress and were given £20 off the £360 bill. 

The shelf above the wash basin was loose, so that when a glass was placed on it, it tilted and the glass smashed on the floor. We reported this, and the shelf was tightened, but no attempt was made to remove the broken glass which we cleared up as best we could, although we did request this. I then trod on a piece in the night and we found several more shards. 

The dining room wall is very damp, (although an attempt has been made to disguise this with plants etc). The plaster is damaged and loose in the hall by the front door. Generally the whole house needs a full refurbishment.

Find somewhere else

Popped if for lunch today. Crabb sandwich  for hubby and Mediterranean veg soup for me. Both very fresh and yummy. Portions good size, soup was bubbling hot on arrival and was absolutely delicious, very clear home made. Service was great and they were busy. My only thing was my voice was a tad weaker than I like. Other than that fab. Thumbs up! 

Scrummy lunch

This was my second visit to Rosario as a cafe. The first, which was made at the peak of COVID social distancing measures, made a very good impression on me and I'm delighted to say that this most recent visit was even better.
The setting of the cafe, in a small, raised courtyard, surrounded by the typical, higgledy-piggledy variety of whitewashed buildings found in a Cornish seaside town, is charming. It is well laid out to make the most of the fresh air and sunshine but also provides shade in the form of awnings.
The lunch menu consists of staples like the Cornish pasty and some seafood options, as well as salads, soups, sandwiches and the like.
The pasties chosen by my family were very large and delicious (in fact the best we tried during our two-week holiday). My mother's soup with crusty bread was generous and delicious. I opted for the Cornish Crab Tea - a savoury twist on the cream tea with white crab meat mayonnaise instead of cream, brown crab meat sauce instead of jam and cheese scones replacing the sweet alternative. Sounds dubious, maybe, but I can assure you it was utterly delicious and amongst the best meals I ate during a holiday distinguished by excellent food.
The top-notch ice-creams we took away as a desert were the icing on the cake.
Service is friendly and efficient and prices are modest.
Highly recommended!

Cracking Cafe with Cornish Charm

Beautiful little establishment in courtyard off Marazion main Street.

Cream tea for £5.50 including super pot of tea was outstanding, certainly the best scones I've had since my Granny was alive (and at 70 that's a long time ago!!).

Lovely people , fantastic service.

Cream tea to die for

There are a few places to grab a coffee and we were looking for somewhere with a view, this place certainly fitted the bill.

A fabulous little cafe with good service. We were staying at the hotel opposite and the waitress who served us breakfast was in this cafe serving coffee. I guess people work in multiple places these days. We didn’t eat however would definitely give it a go.

Our only feedback would be to have low level plants in the window boxes, the ones at the moment block the most amazing view of the sea.

WORST experience ever!  Beware.  Don’t waste your time or money!  A discredit to Cornwall.  Rude and dirty.  You’ve been warned.  An experience at Rosario with food or B&B will destroy your entire holiday and you’ll only keep bringing up the negative throughout your trip.

Avoid this place like the plague

Unfortunately, we visited this business before we read the dreadful reviews. It was our first time in the town and we were really looking forward to having something to eat. My daughters and I arrived first to order a large amount of food and drink. We were then met by my husband who was finishing off the rest of his pasty he had our walk along the coast brought from home. The manager/owner marched over to us and incredibly rudely asked my husband to stop eating his pasty or leave. We were utterly shocked as we were nothing but polite and had just ordered at least £50 worth of food. We decided to cancel our orders and spend our money else where. On the way out, one of the staff culturally insulted us, and told my daughter “don’t spill your coffee on yourself on the way out”. Just shows, read the reviews before you spend your time and money! Extremely unprofessional. I wish I could rate it less than 1 star. Such a shame.

Horrendous experience

Popped in here for a light lunch after visiting St. Michael’s Mount. It is friendly and efficient with a good choice of food and drink. We had a salad and a sandwich both of which were well presented, tasty and filling. The prices were very reasonable (half the price of the other places nearby open for lunch).

Four of us had a lovely lunch here- staff were efficient & very pleasant. Had the most delicious ‘crab tea’-tea with 2 fresh, soft cheese scones(cheese all the way through!) with separate brown & white crab meat- what a brilliant idea! Absolutely mouthwatering for a crab lover- me!
Followed by glorious ice cream- choices suited us all!
